Baldr the Bonkers

Baldr Bingles Bjorg, aliases are Baldr the Bonkers and Baldr of Hysteria...both are self explanatory.

Born and raised in Hysteria 32 years ago Ashaere (Luna)(Cousin on the mother’s side), Hrothgar the Head Case (Uncle on mother’s side, deceased), Ashaere (Aunt and Luna’s mum), deceased parents. Hilda (Wife, 33). Fyklir (Son, 8).

He’s overall a nice person, it’s just he’s spent so long having to live under a different personality it’s taken its toll. IN public, he keeps up a tough exterior, trying to be a harsh but fair ruler. When allowed to be himself, he’s a kind man who just wants to do what’s best. The voices in his head sort of act as voices for the different parts of him. Rags is always his conscience, the good side of him, this is because she asked more mother like to him than his mother did. The second voice was of his best friend of a dragon that he played with and is the voice of the mad stuff he wants to do. The other voices varies, but they are usually the part of him that feels honour bound to keep up the pretence and the make sure that Hysteria and the people keeping it running are safe. As it proven in Lunacy though, this side of him can only go so far.

While in the war He had shoulder length strawberry blonde with an inch long beard to boot, he has since had his hair changed and how has short hair and slight stubble. He has light blue eyes and has a light scar from the centre of his the bridge of his nose down to the middle of his cheek. He as a masculine face and build (it’s not as massive or muscular as someone could be, but good enough) and is about 5’8”. As far as clothes are concerned…think Stoick.

Baldr was born to the elder daughter of the then Hysterian leader. He was brought in the first few years of his life the same way a lot of children were in his generating and before his, with dragonese as his first language and lived very close to dragons.

The three personalities that influenced him the most while he was a child were three dragons. Rags, his mother’s dragon, which basically acted like one for him since his mother didn’t. A Nadder who was is best friend and play mate, and a third dragon who he’d been promised to at birth. The third one was his dragon, and he was his human.

When he was 11 it all changed. The tame dragons turned on their masters; it caused the death of his mother, her dragon and the disappearance of his. He was brought up by his father, who tried to instil the new consensus against dragons, although he never got out of his views towards it properly.

As he’s aged, he started to hear the voices of the three dragons talk to him (although the third one was the least likely to talk and was often replaced by other people e.g. Hrothgar in Lunacy). Although he was scared at first, he’s gotten used to it and now accepts it.

He married Hilda when they were in their very late teens and had their son, Fyklir, who is one of the few people Baldr truly holds dearly to him. His boy looks the sitting image of him, although he hasn’t got any of the disfigurements or the signs of age (yet).

When his cousin, Ashaere, was born, he was worried about her. He tried to be a brother figure to her, although he never knew how much it really showed. He could always tell she felt alone and she was the heir to a tribe she didn’t fit into. When she ran away he went into a depression. He did his bit for the hunt for her, although he hoped so much he’d never find her.

The only positive for him was that with her gone, he’d be the leader once Hrothgar died. Having said that he didn’t take that for granted, not being Hrothgar’s son meant his place wasn’t guaranteed. Those five years since her leaving Baldr’s been one of the main warriors of the army and was one of the most accomplished in the removal of the rebel tribes of Hysteria. This was why he was made the army figure head when they attacked berk.

While the war with Berk wasn’t a complete success, he showed himself to be a great tactician, and was able to find out all of the information he needed to know. This meant that before Hrothgar died a, three days after they returned, he was elected by the council of elders to be the next leader until the true heir is returned or is shown to be dead. That was before they ‘found’ Ashaere…

He’s naturally more a defensive fighter, more likely to block and dodge than the normal Viking. He waits for an opening to come rather than try and make one.

(Technically don’t need to do this seeing that I’ve already done posts with him, but I want to do this storyline post, seeing that I won’t be able to do it otherwise.)

Today was the day. The day when Baldr would stop being the temporaty leader and become the perminant one. It’s amazing how much people will do even if they don’t want to do it. No one wanted Ashaere as the leader, but no one wanted to cut her out seeing that she was the legitimate heir, if only they knew…

But today that would change. No more looking, no one not finding. Today’s the day Hysteria finds Ashaere. A message had come earlier that day that a man had found a body under a house that had been owned by someone who had been affiliated with the tribe Hrothgar had thought was holding Ashaere before Baldr and the army had wiped them almost completely out.

Baldr and the other elders of his village came to the house where a stragglely man was standing at the front door, “Hello, Masters,” he said, in a tone that showed his fear aptly. He was right to, with what Baldr had done to him to…well that’s not important right now.
