Kenna’s smile strengthened slightly when Sven smiled back at her, she was glad that, if he took what happened too badly he was hiding it. She was also glad he relaxed slightly as she’d jabbed him. Kenna looked at him when he made his comment about it being a long time.
“I’d have thought you’ve had to go through that quite a bit over the years I mean…” she paused, should she really say what she’d been about to after what had just happened. She did a full smile, it didn’t matter too much, “You’re not exactly unattractive after all.” She waggled her eyebrows slightly in a joking manner.
Kenna listened to his response and let it sink in (since I don’t know what it is I’ll have that in my response lol). As the piles got closer to being finished, Kenna realised something. She did something between a laugh and a sigh.
“Sorry, I’m being a horrible host today. You come in for a good chat and you get lugged into doing some of my work, having to cope with me being a wimpy little bitch and then me taking a nice little moment where you were trying to make me feel better and trying to turn it into something it really should have been.”

Sven gave a modest shrug at Kenna's next question, before chuckling at the subtle compliment. After what had just happened it didn't seem as forward as it could have been out of context. He also reached forward to grab a piece of junk. They were almost done now.
”Yeah, I used to get it a lot back in the day, before I met Hermes. But then I was with someone so I had to reject everyone... And then after she passed away, I wasn't that great, so having someone else wasn't right then...” The tone of his voice grew slightly somber, but after the shadow had passed his voice quickly grew perky again. ”And then I met Hermes and went travelling. Knowing what she's like, oftentimes we'd land up in places where there weren't people, or didn't hang around long enough to make an impression. Some places even tried to kick me out because I was too... different. There's a lot of reasons, I could go on, haha, but then we'd be here until tomorrow afternoon!” He joked slightly.
After a moment (and her reply) she apologised. Sven stopped working to look and smiled. ”It's fine! Really, you didn't look that great when you opened the door, so anything to cheer up a friend is no trouble. We all have that odd moment when nothing seems to be going right, so it's only natural to cheer you up and stuff.”
He finished dismantling his piece and grabbed another, fiddling with the joints and how the material was attached together. There was a slightly nagging question in his head. He wondered if it was worth asking if they were on good terms. He finally decided against it, everything seemed peachy at the moment, only time would truly tell how their friendship would spin out.

As she worked she listened to what he was saying. When mentioned how he’d been with someone she listened more intently. Kenna wasn’t sure why, but she found it hard to imagine Sven being with someone. She wanted to ask more about this unknown girlfriend, but she held her tongue atleast until he’d finished talking.
He went on to how he didn’t meet anyone on his journeys; Kenna wondered what it would be like to actually travel away from here. She’d never left the island in her life, mainly because she was massively afraid of both methods of leaving it. There was still a part of her that wanted to leave this island one day, but she doubted she’d ever had enough reason to get the courage to do so.
She thought back to his ex-girlfriend. Kenna wondered who she was, what she was like…what happened to her. But for once she didn’t ask anything. It felt wrong to ask, least today it would be after what had just happened. (Insert apology)
He smiled at her and talked down her apology as she’d expected him to. She gently smiled at what he said. It sounded like he wasn’t letting what had just happen change where they were, which was nice. “Thanks, hopefully when you come over next time I’ll have regained some composure and we don’t have to go through this again.”
They were every nearly done, only a few pieces left, she lent in to grab one.

Sven took the final piece off the ground, pulling it apart and sorting the spare parts. They were finally done! Who would have thought a simple task would have ended up becoming... complicated.
"Yeah." Sven replied, slowly getting to his feet, his legs slightly dead from being on the floor for so long. He flexed and shook his limbs slightly to get the feeling back. "Well, it's been nice talking with you, but I need to check on Hermes. She's been acting... odd lately." He explained. He offered a hand to help Kenna up.
He listened to what Kenna had to say, before she showed him to the door. He smiled once again as he opened it. "Thanks once again. I'm glad you're feeling better, I'll see you around." With that, he left Kenna's house.
As the door close behind him and he walked out into the central plaza, he thought about all that had just happened. Well, that was weird.

Sven put the last pieces in their place and got up. Kenna watched him for a few moments before starting to reposition herself to get up too. Sven commented about his dragon and offered her a hand. She smiled at him and took it before pulling herself up. As she did so her vertigo decided it was a good time to kick in and things started spinning. Her other hand grabbed his wrist as she held her balance.
“Sorry,” she muttered, “body likes being an arse whenever I move too quickly.” Things were settling in again. She looked up at Sven, “And sorry about earlier…that first kiss did just mean thank you.” She said as they walked to her front door. He smiled at her and said his goodbyes before leaving.
After the door shut, Kenna stayed where she was for a bit, thinking about what had happened and what she’d done. She’d made the first move. That sort of shocked her in a way, she always made a point of waiting for the guy to make a move. Having said that, that was probably the reason she was still single, the people who would make the first move did so with someone else, and all that were left of her generation were people like Pickle who she doubted ever would.
But today she’d tried to make a move on Sven and it backfired horribly. And, to be honest, she felt she’d deserved that. She was glad Sven had come round, she was feeling a bit more in control than before and they had gotten through something she’d needed to. Kenna turned and saw Fenrir in the doorway. Kenna smiled and nodded for him to come over.
He slowly did and she in turn moved to the chair nearby. She sat down and Fenrir jumped on her lap. She did still think about all this as she stroked her Terror. She needed to do something.
