Kenna heard noises moving towards the where she was, and she knew what those noises meant. Scratchet was running over the boards. She stopped in Kenna’s sight line, looking straight at the hole the blacksmith had just fallen through. But by some mirical of unawareness or perfectly positioned blindspot, the Nadder didn’t see her. Kenna knew in the mood Scratchet was in and the injured and fear frozen state she was in the prone woman would have be in big trouble had Scratchet seen her.
But before luck could change its hand, they both heard the bellows of the lovely knights in Viking armour that caused the dragon to flee again. She flew over the bolas but she and the board she was on toppled to the ground. Kenna then realised an instant before the Vikings and dragon what she was about to do and pushed down on the floor, causing her to roll to the edge of the arena, too far from an possible falling board.
And then she lay there…waiting for it to all end…watching Scratchet getting caught when the barriers were finally down.
The madness finally ended, Scratchet was subdued and imprisoned again, the ViTs and their dragons were reunited outside and Kenna limped (with the help of the Viking that caught her) to Ari’s to make sure she was okay. It wasn’t for another good hour or so until she finally returned to the arena.
She was carrying a bag over her shoulder and feeling really bad about hwat had happened. She knocked on Scratchet’s door, “Scratchet,” she called, her emotions very plain in her voice, “You okay?”

...
She lied. They didn't give Scratchet any food for her troubles. They only left her even more humiliated and sadder than before. Part of her body was still slightly restrained as they had brought her back into her cell, so she couldn't move around much if she wanted to. It lead to increasing the feeling of this enclosed space around her.
It was like this Scratchet remained for an hour or so, brooding and sulking in the darkness, when a voice came to her from the other side of those huge heavy doors. Despite the emotion coming from the voice, it was still that same voice again, that Scratchet was beginning to despise.
The Nadder gave an unhappy grumble. "Come to kick me whilst I'm down, are you?" She called back, not answering Meddler's own question. "Why am I not suprised."
Scratchet huffed and tried shifting her weight again. It was mainly her wings that had been restrained, so it wasn't easy for her to try and get up. At least this position wasn't in public view.. But then again she was also in the Sin Bin in the first place. Again.
"Is this some sort of vengeance against me or something? I'm all game for revenge but this is going way too far. No Being has humiliated me and attempted to damage my reputation as much as you have. It's sickening." Scratchet started ranting. She was also upset, but she didn't realise why Meddler was sounding upset at first as well.
There was a moment of silence. "...I used to like kids, y'know... They were fun. I hope it's only Berk kids are just whackos, but now... gah. Whatever. I hope you're happy." With that Scratchet snorted and remained silent. She had little more to say on the matter. Meddler wasn't worth Meddling with.

"Come to kick me whilst I'm down, are you?" Kenna heard the dragon call to her, "Why am I not suprised."
“No!” She responded, “I didn’t realise that was how things were going to pan out I’d never-“ before she could get into her apology properly, Scratchet interrupted her. Kenna was realising that the Nadder hated her right now. Things had gone so wrong and she’s assumed it was how Kenna had wanted it to go.
But it wasn’t. The blacksmith was trying to hold back tears now, it wasn’t how bad she was feeling that was causing this, it was how Scratchet was reacting to her that was setting her off. And then the dragon said that last line and it Kenna just broke down.
“I didn’t know they would be so stupid!” she called out through her tears, “I’d assumed that when you bumped into them they would react to you like any sane person would to a dragon in here and then you’d be the troller you are and completely mess with them. I didn’t expect those two to just give themselves to you, I hadn’t expected Sylica to pull out that stupid poem, or Varin to pull out one of my bloody mines!”
She paused and tried to collect herself before continuing, “The only one of them I knew might have been anywhere near as idiotic as she was was Ulrika, and even the insult she aimed at you was so much worse than I could ever have expected...” she couldn’t continue, so she just raised the hand that wasn’t holding bag of fish to send the signal to the guys to open the gate.
As it started to move she wiped her eyes and looked in, “I’m sorry, Scratchet, more than I think you’ll believe me. I had only wanted to make a fun and interesting experience for you and them. I had no idea things have gone so…wrong….”

Scratchet angrily growled throughout Meddler's explanation. She snorted several times during the apology. Apparently a flaw in Meddler's plan has caused her the dent in her pride. She didn't want to trust or believe in her words, but she could hear the emotion and felt it was genuine despite the major distrust. Perhaps Meddler did have some morals....
The Nadder heard her trail off as Meddler's voice died through the thick metal doors. There was another heavy clunk as the doors unlocked and the doors opened, slowly flooding the cage with light. Scratchet's nose wrinkled and her back arched, still lying on the floor, half-restrained by ropes keeping her wings tucked away. The spikes that ran along her back and tail rose up steadily.
As a draft of air came wafting into the hole, it brought with it the scent of fish from Meddler's bag. At this the growling was briefly subdued, thoughtful that she might have perhaps kept her promise... unless it was to be used teasingly against her.
As much as Scratchet hated and distrusted it, this supposed attempt to make up with the Nadder was probably the only way she would regain her freedom. There were no kids about anymore - just her and bystanding Vikings outside, in case Scratchet was still in a perilous mood. There was no way she could use her fire again - it took more than just an hour to recharge.
Scratchet would have to think hard how to be able to escape as the human's shadow was framed by the light. This Meddler was a lot smarter than any other Vikings she had met on this island so far... More tact was going to be needed than usual.
Scratchet puffed again. She'd seen humans crying before, and it usually got to her, but she steeled herself. She could smell the fish in the bag and felt her stomach rumble again, worsened from the previous bout of activity. "I smell fish. I see you at least kept your promise... But you will have to untie me, for I cannot eat fish tied up and unable to stand."
She knew Meddler was smart, and would probably not untie her for the human's own safety. This was more a test of how much Meddler meant her words and feelings, and ultimately, if she trusted the Nadder at all. Especially after all that had happened.

Kenna couldn’t help but laugh at that request, though her voice still had enough tearfulness there to show it wasn’t a mean one, “Oh I wish I could more than anything, really I do,” she sat down in front of the dragon’s face, though slightly off centre so she was wasn’t in Scratchet’s blind spot, “but I’m already in soooo much trouble for what happened in the lesson and I’m probably lucky to be able to come in here with fish.”
She opened the bag and pulled out a fish, “Man, I know I’m going to get soooo many complaints from their parents, ‘You shouldn’t have put my son in an environment with such an unpredictable and dangerous dragon without some sort of safety!’” she said in a piss taking high pitch voice as she extended her arm to the dragon to drop it in her mouth, “Despite the fact the only things that made my session unsafe were the bloody kids!”
She pulled out another fish and repeated the action, “I have been wondering what this place would have been like had you turned up 15 years ago, back when I was those kids’ age. How would kid me and kid Pickles responded to you. Do you remember Mr Pickles? He was that annoying brute of a Viking that you stole his shoe from in that cave two months ago? That was him. Man that was a fun thing to watch, you scuttling along with a boot in your mouth and him limping along behind you.”
(OOC: Yay for references! It is slightly disconcerting that Ore struck was only just over a month before 2D.)

Scratchet growled and tensed up again as Meddler came forth and set herself down beside the Nadder with the bag of fish. So tauntingly close... She crooned in a sadway slightly at the prospect of not being untied, it was very uncomfortable for her to lie like this. Scratchet was glad that Meddler had got into trouble for the disaster, she felt that the pesky human had managed to get away with a solid victory which the dragon did not approve of.
Meddler proceeded to pull out a fish, which completely distracted the Nadder from her current anger towards the human. Her tail swished from side to side in anticipation, but then, as the fish was offered, Scratchet became hesitant about it, wondering if it was safe to eat out of the hands of the same woman who had previously drugged her and trapped her and everything else alongside.
But it did smell so good... She decided to risk it. She was hungry, after all. She hestitantly took it from her hands, also hating how Meddler still had dominance over her in this state. The human began to speak, imitating angry parents, which Scratchet found amusing, accidentally letting out a brief laugh, getting caught off guard with the prospect of food, as yet another fish was brought out. They had all that bag to get through, after all...
Scratchet was happy that she hadn't swooned over yet or feeling funny in the head from the food, so guessed that the fish wasn't bad and slowly began to readily take the food, even if it was still this human out of everyone who had to feed her.
She realised that she was laughing at how she was ranting at the children (because in a way, Scratchet agreed 100%) but cut short. She didn't want to be thought of as some sort of friend to Meddler! She might be giving her a meal but it didn't mean she liked her.
She began to go on a different topic, wondering what it had been like if Scratchet had been here 15 years ago. Meddler also spoke of that hairy man who booted her into the rain one day.
"Of course, I remember everyone I've pestered. She thought about where she had been 15 years ago... Generally just trying to stay alive and find a new place to fit in. I don't know, same as now, but you're littler. And probably just as stupid as the rest of the children."

Kenna smiled slightly when the Nadder started laughing, even if it was only for a short time. “Maybe, I’d hope not though.” She fed the dragon more fish as she thought about it, “I have the feeling I’d have been happily coerced by you, be your eyes and hands in the village…something like that.”
She looked slightly off, thinking about what she’d been like as a kid, the stunts she’d pulled, the amount of trouble she’d gotten into with her parents because of all of it. “You’d have porbably fascinated me even more than you do currently.” Another fish, “I mean, you have an amazing, fun and inquisitive mind. And…” Kenna paused, wondering whether she should say it or not, “and you’re, in my opinion, one of the prettiest dragons I’ve met.”
“I like Nadders, in a way. But you look much better to me than the others to me.” Fish. She realised how she must sound, “Sorry, I shouldn’t have said that. I’m sounding stupidly fan girl and I doubt you believe it in the slightest.”
She picked up what she realised was the last fish. Kenna had gotten through them much quicker than she thought she would have. Once she fed it to Scratchet, she got up, “I’d better go now. I’ll do my best to get you let out by either tomorrow or the next day. I know this place has no effect on you and you won’t be trained by anyone.” She walked out cage and turned back to the dragon, “See you soon girl.”

Scratchet snorted at Meddler. "I think you would make a terrible minion. I'm more than capable without your human thumbs." As much as a person on the inside would have been useful, she was sure she could get inside jobs from any willing tame dragons... The Pack also did a good job too on that front. And Meddler was tricksy. She didn't trust her one bit.
Meddler continued speaking, talking of admiration for Nadders, particularly Scratchet herself. She didn't really want to believe these words either - why would someone who admired the Nadder do such terrible things to her in the process!
Scratchet couldn't help but grin, however at the compliments. The last time a human considered her as a pretty thing was so long ago... She snorted again. As much as she liked the compliments, she doubted it's validity.
She noticed the last fish before Kenna did. Their conversation would come to an end. She wondered if she would be let go or not... Meddler got up to leave.
"Waitwaitwait! At least unbind me if you keep to your word, like you did with the fish! I cant stay like this for a day or two!" Scratchet shifted her weight slightly in discomfort. "You and I both know I couldn't escape this place by myself... At least allow me to move about a bit!" Scratchet reasoned to the departing human. She didn't like Meddler, but it seems like she'd be the only one who'd comply to such a deal.

Kenna smiled slightly at her comment about how she’d be a rubbish underling. She remembered what she’d been like as a kid. Scratchet’d have quite easily manipulated her into doing what she wanted.
As she was about to raise her hand to single for the doors to be shut, the dragon implored her to untie her. A good amount of her wanted to do it, she’d even taken a step back in before the rational side held her back. She paused, deliberating.
“I’m sorry,” Kenna finally said, “I want to, really I do. But I’ve stuck my neck out much more than I should have even dared.” She looked back and saw a Viking in the stalls, the sun was right behind him…but she could guess who it was. “I don’t think my reputation, big as it is, would be able to protect me if I were to do any more than I am.”
Kenna turned back to Scratchet, “I’ll try and get you out within the next three days. I’m sorry things went much more wrong than I thought they would.” The blacksmith then raised her hand and the gates slowly closed as she started at the dragon within.
