Scratchet enjoys being a nuisance, especially to Vikings. It was a fine breezy day in the main village, and most of the Vikings were busy at work.
Scratchet, peering from behind a house, was looking at the morning's catch in the fishmonger opposite. There were fish of all shapes and sizes, and Scratchet was determined to get one, without getting caught, for the mere fun of it.
"I will get that fish, maybe even a net full!" Her pale yellow and turquoise tail swished from side to side in anticipation as she thought about her plan of action. Sure, there was plenty of wildlife to eat from in the woods where she lives, but the adrenaline rush of causing a nuisance to the village was definitely worth it. And the fish they have don't come in rivers
However, being a large dragon that she is, she was not completely invisible to the Vikings...

luna walked casually out of her house with her one of her terrible terrors, Snip at her heels. it had rained the night before, so she had come out to collect the rain from her rain barrel. as she poured the water from the barrel, to her buckets, she noticed the early morning fishing boat had come in, and the fisherman was hauling his heavy basket of fish up the hill. "hello!' she greeted him, he greeted her back. "it seems this morning was a good time for fishing for you!" he agreed and luna asked if he needed help hauling the fish, and he eventually accepted. she took one side and helped him finish carrying it up the incline. at the top he thanked her and gave the young dragon healer a salmon for her trouble "thank you!' she said happily"this will make a good breakfast, wont it, snip?" snip licked her lips at the prospect of a fishtail or head for breakfast. as luna turned to walk away, she noticed the fisherman had left his basket outside while he went inside the blacksmith shop, she thiught about dragging it inside for him, but she had water to draw, fish to cook and a sick dragon back at home she needed to tend to.

Scratchet eyed the girl talking to the fisherman. She had another dragon with her. The Nadder had never seen this person before - she diverted her attention from the fish for a moment.
The fool, leaving his bag of fish outside. Well, it's now or never! Scratchet looked around, making sure attention wasn't drawn to her, and picked up net in her huge maws. She grinned, and now was the time to taunt at how lousy they are at keeping their food safe. Finders keepers, after all.
She began to jog gleefully down the main street, making her prize visible. That will surely annoy the Vikings. At first, they just seemed bemused, but soon began to chase after her, attempting to take back their fish. Scratchet didn't care - she knew they had tonnes of fish in the smoke house and in the storage sheds.
As the mob of annoyed Vikings got bigger, she decided it would be time to go before she gets bashed over the head again. She was just about to spread her wings when a stray club hit her leg and tripped her up, causing her to fall face-first into the mud. Her tail thrashed wildy in annoyance as Vikings made sure her head was stuck in the disgusting mud.
"Oh please, I just wanted a bit of fun, you dont have to RUIN my face just to get your dirty fish back." Scratchet grumbled, knowing she had lost, she let the Vikings prise her jaws open and retrieve the fish that were trawling in mud. "It would've been better off for you to let me go, now you have the problem of washing all that food now."
Luckily, the Vikings hadn't caused much harm, save taking the club to the ankle, and dirtied her pretty face. The Vikings disappeared as soon as they had come, walking off, grumbling as well. Scratchet didn't get up straight away - she was still in her train of thoughts. She decided she'll go away and make them think that she's gone for good, and surprise them, *and* be victorious. She finally got herself up, to reaslise the club had made more damage than she thought it was.
"Ow. Thanks a bunch humans." Scratchet rested on one foot, spraying profanity in her head at how she felt for the Vikings right now. They took her breakfast away, hurt her ankle and messed up her face. Yes, and her entire underside.
Tallying up for what was more important to deal with, she began to preen herself.

After walking back to her house, Luna brought her salmon inside and cleaned it and fed the head and tail to her two terrible terrors, Snip and Snatcher. Then she went back outside to draw the water, and noticed a crowd forming down the street around a deadly nadder, who had the net of fish she had just help haul in it's teeth. She ran down the street to the commotion, and by the time she got there, most of the people were gone and the dragon was laying on it's side. It was a beautiful dragon, with bright scales and eyes, and she seemed very intelligent. Even with her skill with dragons she knew she had to be cautious with a wild dragon. "youre a very pretty girl" she said quietly to the winded dragon. She made a pleased noise as she said that and Luna laughed "typical nadder!" she laughed again as the dragon rumbled deep In her chest with approal When she scratched her under her chin. "you're a long way from the forest big girl, you should probably be getting back" Luna said to the beast, at that the dragon lifted her head, and after a long moment of staring at Luna, she got up and started to walk away "don't cause any more trouble today!" luna called after her, doubting that she would listen to her advice

Scratchet watched the girl come over. It was the same one from before. She was expecting her to come up and rub salt into her tragic failure, when her tone was completely different... Wait a second, did she just say I was pretty? Even when covered in mud?! She grinned at the thought. That'd been she would be even more beautiful if she wasn't dirty.
Scratchet began to rub off the mud off her belly with her wing, but it unfortunately spread the mud on her wing too. Mud was terrible. Scratchet saw it as a sort of disease.
"You might not understand me, but i've had enough trouble-making for now anyways. I got this ankle to take care of- ow!" She accidentally stood on her bad foot. "Ow..."
Scratchet eyed the girl. She looked young and posed no threat, but she was still cautious. She seemed to be speaking to her as if she knew her, in a friendly manner. It made her feel nervous, never experiencing a human acting this way...
Suddenly a deep rumbling erupted from her belly, and reminded her of her utter failure and needed to find food. Her pupils became slits in both shock and shame, and with a droop of her head, began to limp slowly and painfully past the viking girl.

As the dragon lumbered off, she noticed she was limping. 'that's not good' she thought to herself. Not 10 seconds after she said that, the dragon collapsed "oh,no" Luna said, and ran over to the dragon and checked her left leg. It was hot, very hot "why didn't I see it before?" she mumbled angrily at herself "you didn't become the berk dragon healer for not noticing when a dragon's leg is broken!" she rubbed the leg to find out where the break was. The break seemed to be right On the ankle, she put pressure on it and the nadder bellowed loudly "sorry, girl!" she aplologized. 'yes that's definitely broken' she thought to herself. "alright pretty girl, you stay here while I go get some medicine and things to get a brace for you leg" the dragon bellowed in pain as Luna ran off down the street to get the healing things from her store of supplies.

Scratchet wasn't pleased at all that she fell once again into the mud - on her own too! Her ankle was really starting to hurt now. Her eyes went wide and pupils became narrow when Luna shouted out about something 'leg' and 'broken'. Her leg couldn't be broken, could it? She tried to move it. She regretted it instantly later as pain rushed through her, even more intense than before. She groaned in annoyance. Could her day get any worse?
That human wasn't helping either - she was literally poking, no, jabbing her ankle where it hurt the most. "Are you sadistic or what!?" She cried out, starting to struggle. Before she could bare her teeth and send maybe a warning flame, or volley of spikes, she had ran off. Huh, well what do you know, She the thought. She better not come back and poke me some more.
"Of course I'm not exactly going anywhere fool, if my leg is broken!" She called after her, which to vikings just sounded like a big, scary roar.
As she lay there in the mud, grumbling about her current situation, a deep nagging was going on in her stomach. She was easy bait here, she remembered what one of her elders told her: "A downed dragon, is a dead dragon, young one." This made her shudder, seeing her situation. Her stomach panged in hunger. She needed food, and she could not exactly go anywhere. Her ankle had broken, and dragons knew that when they got gravely hurt like so, it would either take a very long time to heal with consequences, or never get better at all.
In frustration, she tried to hoist herself up with her wings and her one good leg. It was no use - her wings weren't designed to lift her body weight, only to keep her in the air. This is useless. I'm going to die here at the expense of the mockery of of these.. humans. She internally spat at the word, hissing and snapping at any viking that dare get close to her. Scratchet was in a very, very foul mood.

(OOC: Sure of course you can join in! ) As Scratchet had nothing much to do save laying in the mud, she was looking around and the activity going on around her; until she saw yet *another* human approach her. This guy better not poke me where it hurts like the last human. She thought irritably, giving out a growl. This human spoke to her in dragonese however; deciding to take advantage of conversation, as there was not much else to do right now. She began to tell him what happened: "Well thank you for being so kind." She replied sarcastically, a growling going on all the while, with the occasional outburst of belly-hunger-growls as well. Scratchet glared at him, hoping he would go away like the other one. He stayed, so with a puff of smoke from her nostrils, she explained what happened: I only wanted a piece of fun... and food. The elders don't like my behavior, and humans are just so damn funny to annoy, even though every time I keep failing... You lot always get good food too; not like what we have in the forest. The fish over there are so small! So I wanted to nick some fish, show off how rubbish they are for leaving their food lying around, then go away and eat. But nooo, I get chased, got my ankle apparently broken by some stupid Viking, tackled and left starving and unable to make myself pretty again." Scratchet ranted, giving an annoyed huff every now and then. "To be honest, it would have been easier for *them* to leave me be, because now they have to clean all those fish that got dropped in the mud along with me!"Scratchet continued grumbling - the mud around her cheeks was beginning to dry, and was becoming very irritating, knowing if she moved it would mean pain. She remembered that human that poked and prodded her. "God, you seem ten times more considerate than that other viking girl though; you speak dragonese and haven't poked my hurt ankle yet! I suppose I have to be thankful for that." Scratchet's stomach rumbling became louder. "You don't have any food, do you? My breakfast was taken away from me.

Luna hurried to her house and grabbed a bag and filled it with 3 cloths, a paste she made from comfrey, to soothe the broken bone, some burlap and a stick to make a brace with and some poppy seed to calm the nadder's mood. She was about to run out the door when she relized, she was dealing with a wild dragon- she couldnt exactly feed her poppy seed! She thought briefly about what she could do- she finally came to the conclution that she would have to sacrifice her fine breakfast to save this dragon. She took the salmon off the counter and put lots of poppy seed in it "this should calm her down" she said to herself. She put the salmon in her bag and rushed out the door. She was halfway down the street when she relized, there was a boy with the nadder, and by the sound of it- he knew a little dragonese. He sounded like he was soothing the nadder, which was a good thing. She ran up and the boy looked at her. He had long brown hair and was tall, he looked her over as well. She introduced herself hi, I'm Luna I don't believe we've met." he replied and said his name was Noah. She thanked him for keeping the dragon calm while she was gone. He inquired what she was doing. "well, I'm the dragon healer. I was going to help her out, she has a broken ankle, but I see she has already told you that. Could you help me? I need you to keep her calm after I feed her this salmon, I've put poppy seed in it and that will calm her a little, but not completely and I need to set her ankle and she's not going to like that" he nodded and began to mumble quietly to her as she brought out the salmon and brang it to the dragons lips. She snatched it hungrily and chewed, after about five minutes, she was calmer "okay, keep that up" she whispered to Noah as she slipped down to the nadder's legs. She took her things out of her bag so that as soon as the ankle was set, she could make quick work of the brace and salve. " you might want to hold her head" she took the dragons foot in her hands and pulled hard and slid it back into place. The dragon leg out a terrible scream as she reached for the soothing ointment and slathered it on her ankle. The boy continued to mumble to the beast, she heard him say soothing words to her as she protested. The dragon struggled as she put the brace in place and tied it together. Once the dragon had stopped struggling, she relized a small crowd had formed and she became a little nervous, she didn't like crowds much. She handed a cloth to Noah and took one for herself and he helped her take all of the mud off of the dragon.

luna laughed a little. "its okay, i understand dragonese, and thats funny, im better with dragons than people too. sorry if i seemed demaning- im used to working alone and when a dragon is at stake, i tend to get a little pushy when im working." she glanced up at him and examined him more closely, as she hadnt gotten a good look at him when she rushed up. "so do you have a dragon? luna inquired

Scratchet groaned at the return of the healer. But wait... what was that smell? She could smell fish. Coming from that specific human that intentionally hurt her. Upon seeing the salmon, she lunged at it, and ate it in one gulp. It wouldn't be enough for this dragon's appetite, but at least it was something.
The poppy seeds made her actions become very relaxed; her thrashing tail subsided along with the growling. As Noah proceeded in scratching her chin, her eyes began to droop a little. This feels good... this makes up for all that rubbish I went through-
"OOOOOOOOOWWW!!!" She cried out suddenly as Luna made sure her ankle was secure and in the right place. This will not do at all. She thought, struggling slightly, limited by the effects of the poppy seeds. Her cry of pain quickly ebbed into quiet whimpers. She was confused why she wasn't as active as before, and why she just felt all relaxed and strange... And the throbbing pain in her ankle was dying down as well! Maybe this viking girl is better than she assumed to have been.
Scratchet felt truly thankful for their presence, and was about to say thank you when Luna began to clean the dirt which had accumulated around her sides. Now that marked the both of them very high up in Scratchet's good books. "Th-thank you." Was all that she could say, her speech slightly slurred from the drugged fish. She let out a sigh, feeling very little pain or heat in her ankle anymore, and listened to them speak. The stress caused this morning resulted in Scratchet becoming very sleepy, especially with the seeds. Her yellow eyes slowly closed as she drifted off into a nap.

Luna looked over the dragon, making sure she was comfortable before replying."yes, Being a dragon healer, I picked up the language. I don't really speak it, but I understand it perfectly well. And I have two terrible terrors, Snatcher and Snip" she relaxed a bit and leaned up against the sleeping dragon. " well, she'll be out for awhile, considering what she's been through today and the amout of poppy seed I put in that fish. That's good, it will give her ankle an oppertunity for the swelling to go down and the herbs to help the pain before she tries to put any weight on it. I'll just stay here until then." she leaned her head back and looked up at the clouds. "so, it's been a year since youve been in berk? Welcome back. Where were you for a year? " she inquired and glanced over at him as she waited for him to answer

Scratchet slept happily. She couldn't care less that she was obstructing some of the main street, after all she had been through, it was joyous relief. Through her sleepiness she could hear mutterings and chattering of humans going about their daily business. She could feel something leaning against her body - she thought nothing of it for now. For what she knew, she owed these humans a lot.
Scratchet stirred in her sleep at the thought of being in debt to humans, no less! She still didn't know what to make of them. The elders used to tell her that the Vikings killed off their kind, sometimes even for pleasure. But now these massacres never happened anymore, which led to Scratchet's generation generally confused at whether the humans are actually good people or not. Today she had met both sides - the raging mobs of angry vikings, costing her ankle and her hunger - and also two humans that aided her and stopped her from hurting, and even offered food and cleaned her up.
After a while, she soon came round very slowly, first stirring more frequently, then grumbles and yawns finally followed by raising her head of the ground, blearily blinking. She shook her head to wake up a little bit. The pain in her leg had completely died away - but the braces restricted her movement with it.
She slowly managed to get up, only realising then that the weight resting on her was the female human, so she caught her from falling over with her wing. Finally getting up onto her feet, shaking her head every now and then, she looked at the two humans, and bowed her head at them.
"Thank you." She started, before yawning again. "I am in your debts."

Luna felt the nadder start to stir behind her. She tried not to move so she could rest. She continued to speak with Noah. Every once in awhile the dragon would mumble something in her sleep and the two would laugh quietly to themselves. Eventually the dragon started to stir. Noah glanced behind him and leaned forward, but Luna was too slow and all of the suddun there was nothing behind her back and she started to fall backward, but then the dragon caught her with the edge of her wing. The nadder stood up and stretched her legs. Luna crouched down to make sure the brace she had put on her was holding up. It was still secure. The dragon took a few steps forward, slowly and hobbling at first, getting used to the brace on her ankle. But eventually she became better at it was able to walk at a fair pace and was pretty stable. Luna smiled, happy with her handiwork. She thought to herself 'what is better than being able to make these beasts life's better in some way by easing Thier pain and understanding their ways?' she was always glad when she could help a dragon in need.

"It feels so much better." Scratchet turned to Luna. "If I were like this is the wild, I would have surely died without your aid." Feeling an itch, she suddenly whipped her head round, preening a missed spot that the humans hadn't been able to reach whilst she was laying on the ground. Scratchet was still thinking about repaying them, even if they didn't want it.
"I suppose I can call you both 'friend', and aid you if need arises, like if you need help in fights or lifting stuff... or whatever." Scratchet suggested out loud. Her head was dipped so that her eyes were at eye-level with the humans.
