Slip and Slice.

Curtis and Slity were trying to walk out of the Canyon to the forest to get back home. The Rain was starting up and trying to fly in rain wasn't a good combo. Curtis would carefully walk across the ledge trying not to get into any trouble. As they were walking across the ledge Curtis would see a small puddle on the ledge, He tested the ground under it. It was soft and unsafe. So, Curtis would try and jump over the small puddle, He did so and when he started to walk against part of the ground slip from under him. He would slide down the side of the cliff, He saw a platform not far down and he aimed for it. Just before he hit the platform a somewhat large sharp rock would catch the back of his leg, He knew what was going to happen next. He would hit the platform and would immidiatly check his leg. It was a somewhat large gash. From above his foot to almost the back of his knee. It wasn't too deep, But he still needed to get some sort of help.

Curtis would look up at Slity. "Slity!" Curtis would yell out to Slity above him. "Get Down here!" Curtis would look through his bag and would take out a peice of robe he had on hand. He tied it around the top of his knee. Once Slity got down Curtis had to make the choice. Either stay here and try and fix it himself. Or Fly to the town. He decided to fly becuase the rain was just starting so it was light. Curtis would pull himself up onto Slity and would look around. "Let's get to the town Slity.." Curtis would let Slity fly off.

Not long Curtis would have Slity land down in the town. He would get off and would look around. He noticed he landed beside Luna's House. He knew she would be able to do somthing to help. "Well, Help me out slity.." Curtis would use Slity's head as support. He would walk up to the door and would knock on it. Once Luna Awnsered the door he would look at her. "A little help?"

Luna was having a pretty slow day, not much to do, not much to deal with. A few minutes ago it had stared to rain, she could hear rumbles in the distance and soon there would be a a downpour. She was stoking the fire a bit- trying to warm up the cold house- she had just put some soup On to warm up so she could eat. She heard a knock on the door, she walked casually over to the door and opened it. Outside was a worse for wear Curtis. He asked for help and she wondered why until she looked down at his leg and saw the blood on it. " curtis! What did you do to your self? Come in, come in. Of course I can help!" she brought him in and sat him down on a stool with another one under his foot and had him twist his leg so she could see the gash from the side. She saw the rope he had tied on himself, she assumed it was to make it stop bleeding, it hant done much good, there was still blood seeping out of ot and all over his pants. He cringed as she rolled up his pants until they were off the cut. And looked at it, it was dirty and if she didn't clean it off soon, infection would set in. She gathered some cloths and a bucket of water with salt in it and got to work cleaning it out. He jumped when she first set the cloth on, obviously not expecting the salt. "this
is a deep cut, you're lucky it didn't hit the muscle." she said as she cleaned off the cut. She had set him by the fire so he was starting to dry off. She layed a cloth over the cut as she got up to toss out the water and start preparing some herbs for Curtis. She knew that gash hurt him alot- and he just was trying to be tough and act like it didn't. "so how did you get this cut?" Luna asked him, glancing over her shoulder.

Curtis would leave his leg be, As much as he wanted to just put it to sleep or somthing was alot. Curtis would look at the fire, When Luna asked him how it happened he look over his shoulder abit before looking back at the fire. "Well. Me and Slity were out in the canyon looking around, We didn't relise that the rain was going to start up on us. So, When we were trying to get out I jumped over a soft spot on the ledge and landed on the other side." Curtis would pause for a moment before talking again. "I started to walk again and a peice of the ledge broke off from underneath me. I aimed for a platform and on the way down, Im guessing a rock caught the back of my leg. So I had Slity come down and Fly me here." Curtis would stop speaking and he look at his leg for a moment.

Curtis would look back at Luna again. "Thank you Luna." Curtis knew somthing bad would of happened if he didn't come here. But he thought about something else to keep it off his mind.

Luna took a few cloves of wild garlic from her store and a mortar and pestle and began to grind up the herb as she listened to his story. She ground the stuff into a thick paste before putting it into a bowl and adding water until it was more of a liquid. By the time he had finished his story, she was done with the garlic and brought the bowl with the liquid over. "Curtis, before I do this- I want you to know that this is wild garlic, it is not going to feel good when I put it on, in fact it's going to hurt. But it is going to stop any infection from setting in." she kneeled down and used a sponge she had to put the liquid on his leg. She lookedat him and his eyes grew wide as she put on the liquid. "I'm sorry, Curtis. I know it hurts." she said to him quietly as she continued to sponge the stuff on. She did it quite a few times before taking the cloth thy had saltwater on it and dunking it in the rest of the garlicy water and setting it over the gash while she mixed up some more herbs to put on it.

Curtis would groan abit as Luna placed the cloth over the gash. He would try and keep his mind off it, He relised that way you didn't keep your mind on the pain and that makes it hurt more. He didn't know why it worked like that. But he just did it. He would look over as Luna walked to get more herbs, He was thinking about multiple stuff. But one thing he was thinking about was how am I going to repay Luna for this one. I mean she did basically just save his leg, Not to mention what ever else would happen if the leg became infected. He would look over at the fire for a moment. As Luna came back Curtis would look over at her. "Thank you for doing this Luna."

Luna took the empty bowl and walked back Over to the counter where she prepared herbs.She listened outside- there was a big storm going on outside now lots of rain and wind and lightning and thunder. She the reached up and took the herbs she would need for the leg. Comfrey and dock, to soothe the gash. Goldenrod would help it heal. stinging nettle would bring down the swelling, she took lots of that, and a little horsetail just in case the garlic needed a little help. She took each herb and crumbled the dry leaves into the mortar. She glanced over at Curtis to see how he was doing. He was watching her work, she smiled at him and then turned her attention back to the mixture. She mixed them together a bit with her finger before getting some water and using the pestle to grind the herbs into a paste and form a salve to put on the large cut. She ground it rythmacly around in the bottom of the small bowl. When she thought it was done, she washed her hands and brought the mortar with the herb mixture in it over to were Curtis sat. He thanked her for helping him "your welcome, Curtis. I know you'd do the same for me." she said calmly. She explained to him the herbs in the mixture and their uses before kneeling down to the ground. "and don't worry- it's not called stinging nettle because it hurts you, this time I promise it will make it feel better." she said with a smile. She turned his leg slightly so she could get to the gash better and moved the boot she had taken off his foot earlier aside before putting the tips of her fingers in the salve and spreading it on the deep cut.

Curtis would smile abit besides the pain. "Yea. I would" Curtis would laugh abit before looking around. He would lay back on the ground. "You do what you need to do, Im going to rest abit." Curtis would move his leg for Luna would be able to get at it easily. He would close his eyes and would start to dream. He didn't dream about anything specific. He just dremnt. It's like he would flip through dreams every now and then.

Slity would look at the gash on Curtis's leg, He would sniff it abit before looking up at Luna with a concerned look. Slity tried to make himself as small as possible inside of the home. He didn't want to move and knock somthing over. Or break a jar full of somthing so on and so on.

Luna continued to treat the leg as he laid his head bcd in the chair she had put him in. As long as he was still- she was fine with it. she gently put the salve on in small amounts. She heard slity come over and look over her shoulder at his master's leg. He nudged Luna and gave her a concerned look "he's going to be fine, slity." Luna said quietly to him and scratched his nose with the hand without the herbs on it. Slity had been pretty quiet so far, sitting quietly in a corner, watching her work On Curtis. He layed down right behind her and watched what she was doing intently, glancing often over at Curtis who was resting. It was good that he was resting- she wasn't going to let him walk around on it today, eventhough he was probably going to want to. She smeared the rest of the stuff on his leg before getting up and washing off her hand. She washed the things she had used- the 2 mortars and pestle and the bowl she had mixed the garlic water in. Once she was done she came back over to Curtis with some linen to wrap up the leg in. "how does it feel?" she asked Curtis as she started wrapping up his leg in the cloth.

Curtis would open his eyes abit, He wasn't a deep sleeper so he was able to wake up if someone asked him somthing. He look over at his leg then back over to Luna. "Better, Still hurt's thought." Curtis would rub his eyes abit, He knew he wasn't going to be able to walk. Atleast not for today and probably tommorow. He looked around still waking up fully. After Luna was finished wrapping his leg up in the cloth she had, He look over at her. "So.. What do I do now?" Curtis moved abit in the chair. It wasn't very comfertable. He would look around as he waited for Luna to awnser.

Slity would look over at Curtis and would go up to his face and would lick it once or twice like a dog. Curtis could tell that he was happy he was alright. He would scratch his head abit as he looked around the room. He look over at the fire for a moment. He didn't know how long he was sleeping. But He didn't think it was too long.

Luna watched him wake from his light sleep, he said it was feeling better, but it still hurt. She wrapped the cloth up to his knee and tied it off. "well, you need to eat something." she said looking around, she didn't have much to eat. She looked around until her eyes stopped on the soup she had been warming up. "ah! Here we go" she said as she took it off the fire and brought it over to the counter and poured it into a clean eating bowl. She got a spoon and stirred it a little to let it cool off. She let it set there for a minute while she went back over to Curtis. "you need to lie down. Slity, help me bring him into this room." she said pulling back a curtain reavealing the room where she slept. Slity supported him on one side and Luna on the other untill they reached her bed and helped lay him down. Luna propped him up with pillows and layed her blanket over him. Before leaving the room for a few minutes and coming back with the bowl of soup and some bread. She handed it to him before pulling up a stool beside the bed and smiling at him.

Curtis would smile at Luna. "Thanks." Curtis would being to eat. After afew minute's he would put the bowl aside. Curtis would close his eyes and then would squint them. He just had a sharp pain from his leg. It didn't last long and he would relax his eyes again. He would open them and would look over at Luna and Slity. "Heh, Thank you once again." He would think in his head for a minute. I think she is starting to get annoyed by that. He didn't know, She didn't show that she was annoyed or anything like it. He decided that this was the last time he would say thank you until he was ready to go back to his own home unless Luna did something for him until then.

Curtis would rest his head back, He would look at the ceiling before closing his eyes. He decided to get some rest again. Luna and Him both knew he needed it. Curtis would seem as if he would go into a deep sleep not long after he shut his eyes. No surprise. He was exsatued from what happened today. After afew hours passed he would open his eyes abit looking around the room.

After Curtis fell asleep, Luna got up quietly and moved into the other room. She left the curtain open so she could watch him. He would snore ever so softly every few minutes. Luna giggled sofly the first few times she heard it. It was so funny. She knew he was Sleeping soundly. She picked up a little bit before deciding she needed to rest too. She didn't know where though- since Curtis was in her bed. She just decided to lay on the floor with a blanket. She found one and curled up a few feet from the doorway into the bedroom where Curtis slept so she could hear him if he needed her for anything, she didn't want him getting up. She pulled the blanket she had found for herself over her shoulders and rolled over so she faced the room where Curtis was. She closed her eyes and in a few minutes, she fell asleep.

Curtis would look over at Slity who was laying on the floor beside the bed. He would nudge him abit, Slity would look up at Curtis and would perk his ears up abit. "Mind handing me my bad Slity." He would say quietly, He didn't want to wake Luna. Slity would look beside himself and would grab Curtis' bag and would hand it over to Curtis.

Curtis would take the bag and would open it looking through it. He would take out what would look like a small gold like bracelet. It looked like it was still covered in dirt or somthing else. Curtis would take a cloth and would start to clean it. He had been working on cleaning this bracelet for awhile now it. Every time he worked on it, it would get better looking. He would look into the other room at Luna and would laugh abit to himself

Luna felt something wet slide over her face. She opened her eyes slowly and squinted. She saw snip and snatcher on either side of her with their front paws On her chest. She relized they had just licked her face. They said in dragonese "why are you sleeping on the floor and why is Curtis in your bed?' Luna rubbed her eyes, ran her fingers through her hair and wiped the dragon spit off her face with the back of her hand before shoving her dragons off her chest. She opened her eyes all the way. She remembered that she had put her dragons down for a nap in the room where sick dragons slept just before Curtis had come to the door. Snip and snatcher continued to stare at her intently. She propped herself up with her elbows before looking over into her bedroom where Curtis was resting and relized he was awake. He had sOmething shiny in his hand. He was looking at her with a laughing look On his face. He must have been watching her this whOle time. She pushed the hair in her face behind her ear and smiled over at him.

Curtis would pick the last peice of dirt off the bracelet. He would rub it once or twice more with the cloth he had in his hand. Curtis would smile at it. He looked up and noticed that Luna was awake, He didn't want her to see the bracelet. He would cover it with the cloth and would place it just under the blanket. He would look over at Luna and would smile motioning for her to come here. Slity would look over at Curtis then over at Snip and Snatcher and would make a small friendly sounding noise to them, Probably just saying Hey to them.

The weather outside was un predictiable at the moment. It had let up for a few minutes and then began to down pour once again, It did this afew times. One of the times when it stopped it started to hail instead of rain. Who knows why the rain was acting like this right now. Mabye the sky just cant make up its mind. It's rained abit on Berk latley and Curtis was thinking it wasn't long until Snow began to fall instead of the wet rain.
