My question: Do our characters need to have dragons? I have a character all ready, just names needed. But I'm having trouble thinking up a dragon, using the dragon types guide, and am thinking of maybe instead not giving her a dragon right away, either having her not have a dragon at all, or her meeting her dragon in play. If I do need to give her a dragon, would you mind giving me a few tips for what would work with a character with only one working hand?
My thought: It's just about the population thing, wouldn't villages like these have a medicine person? The blacksmith may make the fake limbs, but somebody would have to help the wound heal until it was safe to put a fake limb on it, or look after minor injuries.

To the question: I have a dragon with no owner, so I'm sure it's fine to have a human with no dragon. As for the one hand thing, I would imagine that a flying dragon is out of the question unless she's able to create a system to make up for the disability (not unlike how Hiccup worked with his missing foot). Or even, maybe she herself doesn't know how to ride a dragon with only one hand and will try to figure something out within the RP.
Just some advice.
For the thought: That's actually a pretty good idea, I think. It never crossed my mind that this place could use some more characters other than vikings-in-training, especially since there are so few members here. Let's see what Asther thinks of it.

Okay. I'll wait. The character I've got is actually the sort to create all sorts of systems to help with her useless hand, even if she'll never use them. She'll create them because with her useless hand, she sees the problem that could be for other people.
Thank you, it just made sense to me that we may need a medicine person if people are planning on huge battles, and getting injured.

You can go ahead and take Milk's advice for the first, thankyou Milk And for the second, it is a good idea. I believe you have just established a new rank. XD (because it makes perfect sense and I didnt think of it because there wasnt one mentioned in the movie XDD)

Right, I've already made a start writing it in word (I always use word for applications)
I only thought of it because my first OC (not the charrie I'll be using) was supposed to be the village medicine person's daughter. ^_^

I have more questions and another suggestion. Yes, I know I've doubleposted, but I don't think it tells people if someone edited an entry.
Suggestion, would you mind changing the colour of the writing which links to the index and sub-forum you're in and stuff? I'm having difficulty reading it. Could you fix it so I don't have to go back to the main forum to get to the sub-forum I was in. Orange or purple would stand out best I think, but you can probably come up with a better colour than me, I've never made a website.
Questions, would Alfrun be in the training sessions, what with not having a dragon (yet!) and having a "paralyzed" hand? Lastly, what do the Common or Garden Dragons and Brown Dragons look like? How big are they?

I agree about the link color. I have to highlight it in order to see what it says. Even white might suffice, since I think orange or purple would look rather harsh in this green color scheme.
The thing is, we haven't even done any training RPs yet. There's not even a teacher. Whenever we do, however, I'm sure there would be more to the class than just riding on the dragon. Also, like in the movie, I'm sure they have extra dragons for students who currently don't own one of their one. If Alfrun does want to some day be a dragon rider, I'm sure they would let her train with everyone else.
I'm pretty the garden dragons look a lot like the Terrible Terror. They're the cats of the dragon species, I guess. Not good for flying or any battles against other dragons, but still a potential foe for one human. I think brown dragons are just a tad bigger.

Yeah, I was thinking I'd choose badly, that's why I mentioned that you guys could probably think of a better one.
She definately wnats to be a dragon rider, or anything to do with dragons. She'll come in and just take notes until she figures out her system (which even I don't know how it would work.) A thought, it'd be a funny contrast to Gobber if the teacher we got was like Mr Miyagi, or something. XD
Ah. Personal curiosity, I always wonder what things look like if they are not described in detail.

As for the link matter, you're talking about the Navigation Tree right? Is this what you mean?
Sadly, I don't think the colour of that can change. I've noticed in the skins I've made that it matches the colour specified for "links." So it can't be changed through those means.
But there may be a code out there for that--but I haven't seen one. Though I would recommend using the code that put the nav. tree in a separate table, so it still matches the colour scheme of the site. I suggest it because I have used it several times.

Oh.
...
I didn't understand a word of that. I'm not very technically minded, all I noticed was I was having difficulty reading it.

Ah, well, the latter of the post was moreso directed towards Asther, lol. But she did work a way around the link problem. She changed the colour of the "Visited Links" which works well enough. I wouldn't have thought of that--in fact I completely forgot about that option xD--because I normally make all the "links" the same colour for sake of consistency.
Sorry 'bout that, Alfrun. xDD But don't worry, it'll grow on you if you stick around it long enough. XD
