DATE & TIME : 10th July, Midday WEATHER CONDITIONS : Sunny, clouds here and there, cold as usual CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Ulrika, Horik and Argent PREVIOUS THREADS ? Berk-Hysterian War Event,
Ulrika was in the forest today. Though it wasn't her most favourite of places, a lot of factors drew her curiosity here: being forced to work at the kitchens, she hadn't been able to fight in the war, as was eager to find any stranded Hysterians, if there were any. She was also looking for dragons.
The war had caused all sorts of problems for Ulrika, limiting her usual freedom, and it had bothered her a lot. It was good to be back in solitude again, if not for a little while. She hadn't had the chance to do anything she wanted to.
Pushing through a thick obstruction of pine needles, getting a lot stuck in her hair, she came into an open clearing where a small stream trickled by. She beamed; the little viking needed a drink. Cupping her hands into the crystal clear water, she tasted the cool liquid. It was good; she drank more, sitting by the stream's edge. Finished drinking, she began to pull out pine-needles from her dirty blonde pony-tail. The Weostan family were well-known for their luxurious hair; she had a reputation to uphold.
Suddenly she heard a rustle and a grumble behind her; pivoting 180 degrees, so she faced the other way. Her eyes met with a huge, silver dragon. Her eyes widened, recognising the species. A wild Monstrous Nightmare was not the best dragon to stroll upon, especially someone as naive as Ulrika.
"Hey there dragon!" She squealed suddenly, exited. She imagined how the villagers would perceive her if she managed to tame this dragon! Monstrous Nightmares weren't normally silver, after all. She knew Nightmares didn't like loud noises; but which type of noise, she couldn't fathom. She was used to the tame dragons in the village; not experienced at all with wild ones. Standing up abruptly, she gingerly waved at the beast before approaching, holding her hand out as if she meant for the dragon to smell it.
If she knew better, she would probably be dead now. Or lost that arm she was holding out.

This was one of the first times Srgent was really out and about by himself since the war had happen. That caused a lot of trouble not just for the humans but for the dragons too. Argent was walking around the forest floor when he had heard a noise. It sounded like a human. Horik had let him go out but not to get into any trouble. Which argent never did. Most of the time at least. He slide himself across the floor and ducked behind a large bush and poked his head out looking around. there wasn't anything there but some water, trees, grass and rocks and a ything else you would find in a forest this far up the side of the earth. Argent brought his head back when he heard the noise again he turned around and saw it. It was a small Viking girl just standing there looking around.
Argent walked up behind the girl and let off a small noise. when the girl turned around and made the loud noise Argent Glared his eyes abit. Can't stand high noises like that, how could a human make that noise normally like that? He watched the girl closely until she let her hand draw closer to her face. There was no harm this girl could do to him, not it a million years probably. He sniffed her hand and brought his head back looking at her he let off a small noise.
Horik looked around the town. A lot of things that had happened to any buildings or people were tended too and done by this time. Horik led himself into the forest looking for his own dragon, Argent. He had let him go off a couple hours ago so he thought he Would go and find him to check up. Horik heard a little squeaky voice when he was walking by a area. He looked over and saw a girl with Argent Infront of her. Horik stood there. "Let's see where this gose." He said quietly to himself.

Ulrika tensed at almost the same time the dragon did at her abrupt noises and movements. Always getting on the bad side of dragons had at least taught her some things; she had aquired the skills of lightning-reflexes, as well as probably being the fastest runner on Berk. She quickly relaxed as the huge beast sniffed her hand anyway, before raising it's majestic head in the air with prowess.
Ulrika's jaw dropped in awe. For once, a dragon wasn't trying to kill her or escaping! And to top it off, she still couldn't believe that it was a Monstruous Nightmare acting in such a way. Usually they were the most aggressive types of dragon; first to arrive to a fight, last to leave, as the old stories told. Ulrika grinned, not knowing that the dragon indeed was used to human company, and that his master was mere metres away.
"You're such a cool dragon!" She blurted all of a sudden. "You're friendly, and you're a Nightmare, and you're an unusual colour! With you I'll completely prove the villagers wrong! I'll show them that I can train a dragon easy!"
As usual, Ulrika seemed to ignore the factor of consent on the dragon's part, thinking that the dragon was now 'hers'. She walked past Argent, heading back to the village with a huge stupid smile plastered on her face. She expected the dragon to follow, so didn't look back.
Ulrika was reveling too much in her self-acclaimed pride that she didn't notice that she had walked right past Horik. The littles girl's hunter instincts quickly tuned into the life form nearby, swiveling back to see Horik standing there. She looked at him smugly, then gave a weird laugh that was supposed to sound confident.
"Ha ha! You can be the first to see my new... dragon?" Ulrika noticed that Argent was not following her. Partly because she didn't actually give any order, nor did she actually own the dragon. Her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.

Horik watched the little girl walked around. She thought that Argent was a wild dragon? Odd, because if argent was wild he most likely would of A: Attacked her and left her there half alive if he was like other nightmares. B: Fled because wild dragons are not close to being used to human company or seeing them for the most part. Or C: Attacked and then fled be ause of the facts. ok, maybe not C but atlas one of the other two options.
Horik shook his head out of his Thoughtful state of mind he seemed to be in and looked over at the girl and his dragon. She had started to walk towards him and Argent just stood in his same stationary place. when Ulrika came up to Horik and spat out her sentence to him Horik smiled and looked over at argent. He made a small snapping noise followed by the words. "Here buddy." Before Argent got up from his spot and walked over to Horik and stood behind him before sitting on his butt. "Yea. this is Argent, I'm Horik." Horik said looking back to the little girl that stood Infront of him. "Who would you be?"

Putting two and two together, her facial expression changed dramatically, her jaw dropping as far as it can go, and her facial expression showing mixed emotion; mostly sadness and jealousy. Ulrika stared, speechless, as the dragon she once thought was hers come behind the man and sit down, making it's allegiance clear.
It would explain why a Monstrous Nightmare was ridiculously docile, Ulrika reasoned internally. But she was having nothing of it. She had been tricked, and she wasn't best pleased. She ignored the fellow villager's question.
"But, but, he was going to be my dragon! He's too awesome! He's like all big and silver... and a Monstrous Nightmare too! Everyone would've been so proud of me!" She had a little tantrum moment to herself, but quickly calmed down. It wasn't the first time a dragon of such a stature had turned her down, often with a trail of liquid fire streaming after her.
Ulrika blushed a little, realising she hadn't actually replied to Horik's question because of the outburst. "I'm Ulrika Weostan the Swift... And I don't have a dragon." He eyes drifted from Horik to Argent, still admiring the forbidden fruit.
"I wish I had a dragon... Even just a stupid one like a Basic Brown! But they all hate me. It's not fair. Some of the other viking-in-trainings already have a dragon, and cool ones too!" Kicking the dirt, she folded her arms. For now her training consisted mostly of defending oneself of wild dragons, not training them. Ulrika had no problem dealing with dragon's bad sides, nearly all of them were against her, except maybe the occasional tame Viking-owned ones.
An idea flashed in Ulrika's mind, a twinkle in her eye. "Heyyy! I know! Do you think you could teach me how you trained your dragon?" She asked all of a sudden, oblivious to the fact that Horik may have other priorities to attend to.

Horik and Argents eyes both widend when Ulrika started to Have a little tantrum Infront of them. Horik looked at Argent with his eyebrow raised and backing saying What's wrong with her? Argent shook his head basically saying he didn't know, crazy maybe.
when she finally stopped and awnsered Horiks question he nodded his head and gave a slight bow towards her in respect. "Nice to meet you Ulrika." He smiled, well she at least stopped throwing a little fit over that. He babbled on in his head and kept going on. "It's alright if you down have a dragon. Most people around your age generally dont have dragons that they can't begin to start to train." He tilted his head abit then returned it to a normal Postion.
Horik was a little surprised when he heard the girl ask if he can teach her how he had trained his dragon. "Well.. Uh in order to do that I think you would need to get your own dragon." Horikvsaid looking down at her waiting for her response to that statement

Ulrika frowned a little Horik told her to find her own dragon. That was what she did. Every. Single. Day. She looked once more at Argent a little longingly. How she would love to have a dragon like that...
Eyes widening with a brand-new idea, a hopeful smile twisted it's way onto her face. "I know!" She started, an energetic aura emanating from her. "Let's go find a wild dragon! Then I'll train it the same way you trained Argent!"
With that, Ulrika marched up to Horik enthusiastically, grabbing his wrist and leading him deeper into the forest, hoping to eventually stumble on a dragon. Ulrika, unknowing of dragon habitats, didn't realise that the larger dragons tended to live further out of the forest where there was more space to move between trees. She also didn't know that Monstrous Nightmares didn't even live in forests anyway, preferring more mountainous regions.
As she strolled, keeping a firm grip of the older villager behind him, she began humming a tune, before turning around, letting go of Horik and walking backwards.
"So, how did you train your dragon?" She asked. Every Viking had trained their dragon differently, and was always keen of trying the tactics out. She even tried to find a dragon like Asther herself did, venturing far and wide. She returned, three days later, running. She had been running because she had tried to steal a Nadder chick, and ended up with the entire dragon family chasing her all the way back to the village. She'd even try and get into a dangerous position, to see if a dragon would save her. It only put her in a worse situation, when she was almost gobbled up by a Gronckle who didn't see her amongst the boulders.

Horik let Ulrika grab his wrist and drag him into the forest. Not like he had anything better to do right now, so why not. He looks around the forest and walked beside the girl. "Well, what kind of dragon are you looking for? I mean if your looking for something like a Nightmare they are going to be in the more mountian areas. If your looking for a nadder, you might find one on the forest floor so yea." Horik thought for a minute looking up through the canopy of the trees. The sun shining through was a nice feeling just to be able to see it go through. "I'm sure you wouldn't want something like a Groncle or a Terror, that is if you want to fly around when you start to train your dragon. Finding something like a Night fury. Impossible for the most part, plus they might be a little bit tougher to train so who knows."
Horik kept walking, kicking around a rock he had come across when they started to walk into the forest. Argent followed behind Horik taking in his surroundings as they walked along the clear, grassy forest floor. It was cool out today which was nice for Berk. Hoirk raised his eyebrow at Ulrika when she had asked him how he trained Argent.
Horik tilted his head abit back and forth. "I did a really calm method of training. I took things slow with him. Isn't that right buddy?" Horik looked over at Argent, Argent bobbed his head up and down abit as his way of agreeing with him. "I did get frustrated at points but I kept it pretty calm with Argent."

Ulrika's steps faltered as Horik mentioned Night Fury. The little girl was fuelled by the tales of the past, the unholy offspring of lightning and death itself. Though she remembered several months back when she had met the Outsider Dragonologist. He had said there were 'cooler' dragons than Night Furies. She refused to believe him. Ulrika both feared and admired Night Furies. Asther herself had a Night Fury, but even the tame one was elusive to the eyes of the villagers.
But alas, Night Furies were impossible to find and train. Asther had been lucky. Ulrika sighed, slouching her shoulders. The next best would have to be a Monstrous Nightmare in her opinion, then maybe the Zippleback or the Deadly Nadder. But she was so desperate, for now any dragon would do.
She listened intently to Horik's words. He trained Argent calmly? But Nightmares were one of the most aggressive of dragons! She gave him a quizzical look, frowning.
"You have to be lying," She started. "There's no way a wild Nightmare could ever take things calm and slow at first! Trust me, I know." Ulrika folded her arms, confident in her words. Stubborn, she refused the mere idea of dragons having different personalities, believing them to be all aggressive on a whim.
Ulrika kept it in mind anyway. The next dragon she would come across, she would try that method. And try not to be burnt alive. But then again, Horik was here with a fearsome Monstrous Nightmare. Ulrika was fearless.

Horik watched the area to see if there was any dragon looming around the forest floor. So far he hadn't found anything but a deer, at least he thought it was a deer it couldn't of been a dragon because it was much to small to be and different body type. He looked to the tree and just saw some simple birds fly over head into the sky ignoring them completely.
Horik laughed abit as he turned his gaze back down to Ulrika. "I'm not lying. argent is a very calm and cool headed nightmare." He smiled as he turned back to see his dragon. Argent looked at him then bobbed his head again up and down then side to side probably in boredom. Horik looked forward against and jumped over a root before he tripped on it. "Though it is known that a good majority of nightmares are bad, vicious and difficult to train. Things that happen in their life can change that way, wether it was a positive effect or a negative. You wouldn't be able to tell unless you were to someone get into the mind of the dragon and fish around for that awnser." Horik said looking at a stream.
Argent trotted along behind them examining the area for himself. He heard the noise from a dragon but it was faint. It couldn't be told how far away that dragon was, but it sounds familiar for the most part. Horik looked around and made his way up natural formed stairs for the most part. "Berk is big for an island I can say that. You would be more likely to find something up there then down here."

Most of what Horik said had skimmed right over Ulrika's head. What she gathered that all Monstruous Nightmares are evil, except for Argent. He mentioned that it would be easier to find a dragon further up the hill and away from the thickets of the forest. Ulrika shrugged, following Horik up the natural staircase.
Ulrika, being a skilled hunter, had to learn to detect the smallest of noises, as they were all important. She heard the dragon call far in the distance, her face lighting up. Maybe she'd find a wild dragon to tame after all!
Instead of following Horik, she broke off the natural pathway created by a herd of wild animals, instead heading straight for where she heard the dragon. She wondered what kind of dragon she would find; it sounded big. Maybe it was a Nadder, or maybe even a Monstruous Nightmare! Her trail started to ascend, until she reached the summit of a small hill, where it was open to the blue sky and the chilly winds.
She stared up at the sky, hoping to see any sign of a dragon. Nope the sky was clear, no dragons in sight for now. Frowning, she slumped her shoulders and took a seat on the rough grass and roots. Maybe a dragon would spot her? She wasn't hunting for her family right now, so she wasn't trying to conceal herself.
OOC: Sorry it's so short >.< Uninspired. But I've left it open if a dragon character wants to join in?

A growl escaped Winter's throat as new scents wafted to his nose. He could smell a dragon and mixed scents of a human, whether there was more than one he could not tell. Breathing in the scents he couldn’t tell what type of dragon was there and if it would be a problem to him or not.
Crawling out of his hiding spot, he looked up and roared, doubting he would even be heard. Standing completely up, Winter shook, pieces of foliage flying off his large frame and tail whipping about. Twitching slightly he reached around and started to nip at his hind scales, the irritation of disconnected scales being painful.
Quite a few of them was sticking out of place, the skin underneath itching and burning from getting dirt, rocks, and twigs caught. Hissing quietly he tried again only to stop and lift his skull skyward again as a sound quickly caught his attention, raising himself on his hind legs; Winter peered up to see a human.
He did not want to deal with any humans with the happenings. He could barely find a peaceful place to rest without hearing the noises.
Baring his fangs he dropped to the ground and crouched with wings open. Giving a crooked grin, he shot up and flew right in front of the human. Maneuvering to look down he roared, wings flapping as he growled.

Horik looked around and kept going on about dragons in different ways. He was getting a little curious when ulrika wasn't responding with anything. "Ulrika?" He said as he turned around looking at nothing. hmm, she must of gone off somewhere else. "Argent let's back track." Horik and argent started back tracking.
Horik scouerred the area. Where did she go? I honestly don't think in my opinion she is good to be looking around this deep into the forest. Especially is she's looking for dragons this far in. She could just get herself killed and I don't think her family needs that. Hevstarted to think to himself. He got to the area where Ulrika split off. They followed the small imprints in the dirt and grass. They followed it until they found her. Horik got behind a large rock and gave argent the signal to get down. Horik is going to be interested to see where she heads off or what she decides to do in this area. Might Aswell not interfere but only to help her if she needs it. Horik kept an eye on her and waited to see what would happen. A wisp of wind flew by his face.

A nearby growl almost made Ulrika jump. Suddenly, a huge red mass erupted from the green canopy, quick flying right above her, quickly descending, as if it was coming straight for her. At first Ulrika had beamed at the sight of a dragon, it was huge and red! Just like a Monstrous Nightmare!
But... it had four legs and two wings. That wasn't right. She had never seen this type of dragon before! It was when she noticed she could see such detail that she realised that the dragon was a lot closer than she was comfortable.
The dragon roared. It was then that, with lightning reflexes acquired from countless experiences, just like this one, that Ulrika rolled to her feet, and sprinted to the cover of the forest as fast as she could. The dragon wouldn't see her through the trees, unless it landed, of course.
She took this brief time to look at the dragon more. It was definitely different to a Monstrous Nightmare. Because of this, and the fact it was a dragon species she had never encountered before, she was a lot more wary than she usually was. She had a strange feeling in her stomach that normal people would call fear, but Ulrika didn't understand the concept of danger.
"Woooow!" She suddenly exclaimed, unknowingly revealing her presence, "I've not seen a dragon like you before! You're weird!"
In the distance, on the other side of the clearing, she could see Argent's huge form in the shadows, though she couldn't see Horik from this distance. She smiled. At least she wasn't alone! A shadow of the dragon swept past her, making her look back to the dragon again.
She was going to train this dragon.
OOC:...And she'll fail. As usual XD Sort of inspired by 'raiders march' which is totally Ulrika's song

Though he could smell that the dragon and other human were now closer then he first thought, he wasn’t interested in them, instead he was trained on the one that had run into the forest. It wouldn’t be too hard to find her; that is if he landed and maneuvered his way through or just lit the whole forest on fire.
It was hard to spot the human in the dark forest from the angle he was in, but he still searched as his wings calmly held him up.
Winter’s head snapped when the noise of human speech was sounded. Did she just? She just called him weird! Humans and their hard speech, at least he knew that one word. Growling he maneuvered himself to land in the same spot where she had been resting at. With eyes trained in the direction, he stalked forward in a crouch with tail twitching.
Nostrils flared and eyes narrowed once he finally spotted her. Letting a grin cross his maw, the large dragon flicked his tongue out and hissed slightly, smoke spiraling out his nares and between fangs. Claws dug into the earth right before he lunged, jaws agape and aiming at the human.
