SOMETHING THAT'LL L I G H T THOSE EARS Summer looked out over the ocean as she sat on the pier. Her legs dangled over the edge of the wooden boards as she slowly kicked them and swung them. Her blue eyes matched the color of the sky and she looked up to it as if knowing that fact. She breathed a soft sigh wondering where everyone had gone of too. Her head dropped which brought her gaze back to the ocean. She watched the small waves splash just below her as she got sprayed by the mist that happened when they hit.
She leaned back letting her hands catch her as she put them behind her back and soaked up all the rays the sun would give to her. Her hand instinctively moved to her bows and arrows which always stayed next to her. She glanced over at them just as a shadow passed over her. She looked up once again and saw the big form of her Nightmare hovering right above her. She whistled once letting the dragon know it was fine and clear to come down.
In a thud the multicolored dragon dropped next to her. Fireworm nuzzled her long time friend and partner and Summers hand went up and stroked the dragons snout. "Well where were you today? She hum/growl she heard that came from her dragon let her know the dragon had just had something to eat. She leaned against the dragon instead of her hands. She found this more comfortable and secure. I mean no one would pounce upon a huge dragon and a girl that was armed. Would they? She shook her head. Of course not. That would be ridiculous of that person. You never knew what could happen in a close-knit village like this though.
She looked out at the ocean worriedly though. Her brother had left a year ago and hadn't returned. She basically gave up all hope of ever seeing him again. But then again, that's what happens when your brother wants to go find out what had happened to their village from when they were kids. sick of all the incensere, SO I'M GONNA GIVE ALL MY S E C R E T S AWAY[/blockquote]

Ari strolled along, with his staff in one hand and his fishing gear in the other. He needed some quiet time. He knew that everyone would know where he was if something serious happened, but they knew not to disturb him otherwise. He suddenly caught himself whistling, he hadn’t done that in a while.
As he reached the pier, his body semi paused as he saw a girl and dragon on it. What was she doing? He looked up and shrugged, it was a nice, hot day, and it was a good spot to get the sun.
Still. It was annoying to have her there. He preferred not having anyone around when he went fishing, the peace and tranquillity, and no chances of having to deal with burns. But Summer had a Monstrous Nightmare (which was technically illegal) which, of all the dragons, you would feel one of the least safe in a gas filled room.
He shook his head and continued to walk to and along the pier. It was fine, he said to himself, they probably wouldn’t annoy him, everyone knows Ari liked his fishing and not to mess with him while doing it. As he got to Summer, he faked his regular (convincing) smile and muttered, “good day,” to her.

When Summer heard some feet walking across the boards and then heard a good day she turned her head to see who had came down. Seeing that it was Ari, she gave a short sigh as if saying ‘oh boy’. She nodded to him then turned back to the ocean and spoke. ”Hey. What are you doing out here?” Summer had thought no one was going to come down today. Of course it was a nice day but still. She came down here for peace. As long as Ari kept on with his nice demeanor right now, things would be fine. If he didn't, her attitude could change quickly and with that Fireworm's would too. Fireworm looked over at Ari and gave a small snort. She didn’t really like the guy since she didn't know him. She only like people she knew. Her eyes narrowed into slits but Summer smacked her so she turned away and laid her head down so that Summer was in the way of her sight of Ari.
Summer cleared her throat once and leaned to the side so she was against Fireworm’s neck. She scratched the dragon behind the horns and smiled when she heard a hint of a growl that sounded like a purr coming from Fireworm’s throat. The dragon closed her eyes and fell into a light sleep with Summer draped over her. Summer pulled her feet up onto the dock since the water level had risen a little bit and her shoes would be getting soaked if she kept them down there any longer. Her legs shifted so that she was putting more kind of leaning on her dragon with her shoe covered feet facing Ari. Her blue eyes kept their fixed gaze on the ocean. She had always loved the ocean. There was just something about it that soothed her whenever she was near it. It was hard for her to get made if she was by it, that was for certain.
[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote] this post was made for anyone and it's a lovely 318 words long. Summer is wearing something like this and the lyrics are from when it rains by paramore and the template's by emma from ach.

“Good day for fishing, you?” he replied as he passed the two of them. She didn’t know much about the girl, even though he had healed her a few times over the years, he did know her parents well enough while they were alive and Mitch was getting injured enough. He sat down and got his things set up. He wasn’t going to let these extras to annoy him. He sent out his thread and started the regular waiting to see if anything went for a nibble.
He didn’t expect to get anything, he rarely ever did. He did this just because he liked the piece, being able to let his mind just run with nothing happening. And he had enough on his mind recently. Dragons had been more restless than usual as of late. He knew this purely from the amount of work he’s had of late. He’s had to replenish his stocks much fast nowadays. He’s just glad he has a helper now. Did they sense something? Something happened? Something to come?
He was just glad that Summer seemed to be keeping herself quiet, she must have come here for the same reason as him. He felt a slight tug on the line, a bite? Ari went to pull on the rod, but as he did he felt it tug back very hard, a big fish? And then he felt his body disconnect from the pier. As he flew towards the water from the strength of the tug his mind only thought one syllable, sigh SPLASH

Pythos swam near the port, under the still ships that stayed there almost all the time. He picked off barnacles that gripped the bottom of the boats, crushing them with his teeth. He was super bored, having nothing at all to do. Pythos swam from the boat he was under, and spotted some fish. His stomach growled, just seeing the fish made him hungry.
A nice big on was right under the dock, nibbling on something in the water. He could not make out that it was a hook, as it was murky in the water and the line was somewhat clear. He swam up behind the fish, licking his lips as he lined up behind it.
With a quick movement of his neck, he snapped up the fish, along with the hook. Unknown to him, the fish had the hook in its throat, having taken the bait. Something pulled from above, a weak pressure that was trying to pull him upwards. He swam downwards, pulling something, -or someone- down with him.
A splash sounded behind him, but he kept going. Around ten seconds later he leaped out of the water, hearing something follow him. Diving downwards again, Pythos turned around and saw a human, holding onto a stick behind him. His huge eyes stared at the human, a questioning look on his face. How was it following him?
He swam towards the ocean again, turning around and swimming faster, trying to loose the human. He leaped from the water again, looking like a dolphin. He continued to swim forwards, then sharply turned around again sharply. He swam under the boats and doing quick maneuvers. Pythos leaped from the water again, taking a breath of fresh air, even though he could breath underwater.

Summer nodded her head when Ari stated that it was a good day for fishing. She supposed he was right. Although she never fished in her life. Her parents had tried to get her to fish, but she just found it boring and time consuming when you could be doing something better. Or more fun. She thought to herself, but a little scoff sounded from her throat which she quickly tried to hide by giving a small cough. Fireworm perked her eyebrow wondering what Summer was thinking. The big dragon always found the sounds humans emitted while they were thinking funny. Since most of the time the humans had no idea that they were doing it in the first place. Once Ari was all set up, Summer was about to ask him something but decided against it since he looked like he was in deep thought. She watched wondering why he could think it was so much fun to wait for a fish to bit onto the hook. As she watched, she felt Fireworm tilt her head so she too could watch Ari. The two hadn’t seen anyone fish for awhile since they hardly visited the shore in day time. She watched silently and made almost no sound. Though she could hear Fireworm breathing heavily. She looked at her dragon and shook her head knowing that she was just doing that because she disliked supreme quiet. All of a sudden she saw the line start moving. When it looked like Ari had gotten a bit Summer had been about to clap, but as she raised her hands, she saw the line go taunt as Ari was pulled under the water. She had to stifle a laugh as she got up and ran to the spot where the other villager had been sitting only moments ago. ”Ari. Ari!” She yelled. She paused. ”Yeah, because he can totally hear me under water.” She felt the dock move a little as Fireworm walked over to her and looked down at the ocean just as Summer was doing. They both jumped as a dragon jumped out of the water with Ari still holding on the fishing pole. Summer couldn’t hold it in any longer. At first she had been worried, but then when she saw the look on the dragons face...it was comical. She fall over laughing and put a hand on Fireworm so that she herself wouldn’t fall in. She felt her dragon rumble with silent laughter as they watched the dragon start moving around fast to try to lose Ari. (Word count: 428) ((Sorry for lateness ))

Ari knew what was happening as he clung on for dear life to his rod, eyes clenched, as was dragged through the water by the dragon. The dragon shot down then flew out the water before diving again, fortunately he didn't leave the water in those semi flight moments.
The dragon turned to him in a quizzical way. Ari then did the smart move as the dragon turned away again. He let go of his fishing rod and swam for the surface. He gasped for air as the dragon swam away, not yet noticing the lack the extra weight yet. He looked over at the pier, he could see Summer and her dragon...they were laughing...
He glared at them. He hated be laughed at, then after a moment he sighed. While he was annoyed about them laughing, it probably had looked comical. “Mind coming over to help?” he shouted to them, before looking back at the dragon that was escaping.
Once he was out of the water (leaving that non-descript so that I don't limit what you you Summer, though I assume aerial removal via dragon) he thanked them, then asked, “Why’d he have to go and nick my rod?”

Pythos slowed his speed down, suddenly realizing that there was no extra weight on the back as the human had gone. A rod of wood was floating behind him, wafting in the waters gentle waves. He moved in a circle, watching it as it followed his movements in the ports water. It was very strange...
He saw another dragon with a human on its back flying a ways back behind him, helping a drenched villager out of the water. The same one that was following him, holding onto the very same rod that was also following him. Pythos was very confused. He might as well go walk up onto the beach and figure out how to make the rod stop following him...
As he swam towards the docks, Pythos began to feel a slight tugging sensation in his throat and mouth, which became a yank backwards when he kept swimming. The stick was stuck between some rocks, lodged tightly in it. It made no sense to the black water dragon, seeing no way the rod could be able to stop him from swimming. Pythos grunted, swimming towards the protruding rock and crawling onto the top.
He didnt realize that the line was all tangled in his fangs, along with the hook being attacked to the fish he ate earlier, but thought that this rod was magical or something. Pythos turned his head towards the two humans and the dragon, a pleading look on his face. He had no idea what to do or how to get rid of the 'magical' stick...

When Summer saw that Ari had let go of the rod and was asking for help, both her and Fireworm stopped laughing and jerked up acting very caught. She looked at Fireworm, who nodded her head, then jumped up on the dragons back. The Monstrous Nightmare hated flying right above water but when she realized another villager needed help; she was completely fine with it. Once Summer was safe and secure on her back the dragon flapped her wings and pushed off the dock. Hearing a creak sound as the boards moved under her weight she flew right above the water. Once to Ari Summer held her hand down to him for him to grab in which she then pulled him up until he was sitting behind her.
With both humans on her back, Fireworm turned back towards the dock. Summer looked back and noticed that the water dragon had realized the human was no longer attached but the rod was. Summer furrowed her eyebrows but continued to the docks. Fireworm was going to start lowering herself onto the docks until Summer turned around. With a start she saw that the rod had gotten stuck between two rocks and the dragon couldn’t pull it out! Summer fingered the dagger that was in her boot and looked at Ari.
”We have to go and help him, you know that right? It’s not like it meant to grab your line. It was probably looking at the fish next to it and didn’t even realize it was there. And then when trying to get it off it accidentally rolled it right over the rocks, in which it got stuck.” Without letting Ari off, as it was his fishing poll, Summer turned her dragon around and started heading towards the other dragon. When they got there, they hovered above it trying to figure out what to do. "What do you suggest we do?"

As the dragon started to go towards the docks, he could see the woman’s concern. Ari watched the dragon as they flew back, to see what was going to happen to his rod, if they dragon would put two and two together. It was obvious that he hadn’t though. When his rod got caught in the rocks he Summer jump in shock. She looked at him, and started to talk.
“Of course I know that,” Ari said indignantly, what did she take me for? “I’m not an idiot that thinks that all dragons are like Scratchet, liking to cause trouble for the sake of it.” he noticed how she was fiddling with her knife, “Only cut the line if you have to. If he swallows that hook…well, at best nothing will happen, at worse it’ll kill him, so cutting the line is a last option, try to get the hook out.”
As they landed by the dragon he then muttered, “oh, and you should handle this, I’m really not good with dragons so if you want us to have a chance of getting the hook out, you should talk to him.” as things happened, Ari got off Summer’s dragon and moved so he wasn’t in range of anything. He and dragons didn’t get on.

Pythos' large, pupil-less eyes noticed another dragon land nearby the rocks he stood on. His long, sharp teeth were holding the source of the problem, the fishing line was wrapped tightly around them. He let out a soft moan of distress to the other dragon and the humans. Somewhat like, Please, get this bloody stick away from me! Something was holding the rod to him, yet he didnt understand, and didnt see what was.
There was a slight tug in his stomach, which felt very strange to him, like the fish was still alive. Yet highly impossible, since most dragons stomach acid could melt rocks and such. But the strange tugging was scaring him, like the rod was a demon, trying to kill him from the inside out.
Pythos curled his tail like a cats, then whipped it out against the side of the rock. This was getting infuriating on his behalf, and he just wanted to get out of here. Kind of. Human interaction was somewhat rare for him, because he's a trouble maker in the village. He bet, that when the two other humans got a good look at him, they would probably recognize the color of his scales. Possibly. He didnt really know...

Summer glared at Ari. She hadn’t meant to make him sound inferior or anything, it was just what she had in her head and it needed to get out. Her gaze softened as she hopped off Fireworm when they arrived at the rocks. She stopped figuring her knife when she heard Ari say that she had to get the hook out. ’Well how I am supposed to pull that off?’ She paused for a moment thinking. She was glad she did too because the dragons tail whipped out and if she had been a step closer she would’ve found herself in the ocean with an angry Monstrous Nightmare. The only reason that came to her mind is because Fireworm loved her and she would think Summer got hurt which would make her get mad at the dragon. When she heard Ari jumped off she assumed he was going to try and help her, but of course he said he didn’t get along with dragons.
Summer recognized the breed of dragon but not this particular one. She wondered though, if this was the one people in the village spoke about. The one that tried to cause trouble. She shrugged her shoulders not really caring anyways as she took steps closer. She held out her hand and started speaking softly to it. ”It’s okay. I’m not going to hurt you. Just want to get that nasty hook out of your mouth...or stomach. That way you can be free once again, okay?” She was finally close enough to touch the line. But she didn’t for free of accidently pulling it and then causing hurt to the dragon. When she was near enough to touch the dragon she waited for it to give her a look in which she could touch it. She didn’t want to just get to work and then the dragon get scared and knock her off. She raised her voice a little so that Ari could hear her. ”How do you suppose I go about this Ari?” She said looking at the dragon.

“Is the hook still in his mouth?” he asked, before looking at his rod. As she told him that it wasn’t he started to work out how much sting had been was unravelled. He then looked at the distance from the rod and the dragon and sighed. The distance was too short.
This meant that the hook had gone too far into the dragon, “Yeah. Unless you want to re-enact how Tyr lost his hand, we’re not getting that out.” He turned his back to the dragon and quickly and efficiently pulled out his knife and cut his line. “It’s was risky leaving the hook in, but we can’t get it out by any means that wouldn’t be more dangerous than leaving it in.”
Ari picked up the rod and put it under his arm, it’s a shame he had to lose the hook, but it couldn’t be helped. He turned back to the girl and the two dragons, he wondered what Summer’s reaction to his sudden change in thoughts, but when it comes to helping people you have to be ready to change what you are going towards in an instant, otherwise they’ll die before you change in time.
(OOC: Sorry, really couldn’t think of anything, oh and I can’t believe I actually stopped at 200)

Pythos felt the strain weaken and disappear from his stomach and mouth. He began to pick at his teeth, unraveling the line that had been tangled and weaved around the sharp fangs. Gripping the line, which was almost invisible in the bright rays of the sun, he pulled on it with force. Out of Pythos' maw, came the rest of the line, along with a fish skeleton and the hook.
The dark black, water dragon licked his lips with a light blue tongue, and wide eyes stared at the two humans and the other dragon. The long, sharp spines along her back shook slightly, making it obvious that he was curious about what was going to happen next, seeing how they were done with the rod. His webbed claws scratched into the rock he sat on, when an idea popped into Pythos' mind.
Fast as a fish, he slipped into the water in search of the largest fish he could find. His finned tail steered him through the ocean currents, eyes wide and searching. Something huge caught the dragons eye, and he swam at lightning speed towards it, claws extended as Pythos snatched up a large fish in his jaws.
He swam back to the surface, trying to be as fast as he could be. Pythos crawled up onto the rock once again, the fish still alive and wriggling. Dropping it where Ari was, he gave the human a toothy grin and tilted his head sideways with curiosity. A thank you gift, along with a apology for taking him on a ride through the ocean.
(Sorry for it being short... Ive got little to no muse x.x)

Summer watched as Ari thought things over. She had no idea what else she could've done to help out the dragon, so when Ari cut the line she nodded sadly hoping that nothing bad would happen to the dragon. She looked to Fireworm and shrugged as if saying there was nothing else to do. When she trumped back to the dragon she saw it get the hook out of its belly. "Hey Ari look!" Summer said as she pointed towards the dragon. The dragon then seemed to think for a moment before it dove under the water.
Summer looked to Ari again. "What do you think it's doing?" A couple moments passed and the dragon resurfaced with the biggest fish Summer had ever seen. Her eyes widened with amazement as they took in the whole scene. It was as if the dragon was saying sorry for eating the fish Ari had caught in the first place. Fireworm looked at the dragon with shock as well. She had known that this was the dragon that caused trouble. So seeing it give back to one of the villagers had shocked her. "Wow. Why did you do this? After causing havoc to the village, why bring back a fish for Ari?"
Summer turned to Ari and kind of smirked. "Ari. I think this dragon likes you. You don't have a dragon right? Why don't you try to tame it? It could help you fish." She looked to him with a raised eyebrow as she waited for him to give some sort of response.
