DATE & TIME : 15th July, early morning. WEATHER CONDITIONS :Sunny, few clouds CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Ulrika, Adkynn PREVIOUS THREADS ? Extra Curricular
Ulrika was hidden in the undergrowth. Her various coloured furs made her blend in naturally to her surroundings. She had a stern look on her face in concentration. Ulrika was hunting.
This skill was the sole activity that the young Viking-In-Training excelled at, thus provided meat for her ignorant family, trading the extras with other villagers, and of course the butcher himself. She had already caught a few rabbits, their corpses hung on her belt. Ulrika didn't like to use traps, it was less enaging. Ulrika always hunted with a bow and arrows.
Right now, she was hidden behind some foliage, still as a statue. She had seen some deer tracks, and had moved to the closest source of water to intercept them. She didn't want to make any disturbance, so she already had her arrow nocked into the bow, arms raised, ready to fire at a moment's notice.
That was when she saw the herd of deer. She remained stationary, allowing them to come into view, choosing the most likely prey.
Then came forth the stag - it was a behemoth, packed with muscle and bore an excellent hide and the most beautiful pair of antlers - they would look well on a warrior's helm.
Inhale, exhale. Ulrika shifted her position ever so gently, moving with the wind and how it moved the leaves around her. Then she fired.
The arrow sunk itself into the stag's skull, the creature collapsing to the ground immediately as the rest of the herd scarpered at the sight. Ulrika left her hiding spot to observe her catch and retrieve her arrow.
"Yess!" She cheered in triumph, arms raised. "This has to be the best kill so far this... Oh."
Standing at it's side, Ulrika almost regretted the kill - sure, it's antlers would look great on a helm, and it's pelt would serve well for clothing, and of course an animal this size could feed her family alone for a month or more. The only problem was the size.
Ulrika was strong, but she was obviously not strong enough to haul such a size all the way back to the village. She was quite far in the forest. If she dragged the body the carcass will be ruined. Oh! If only she had a dragon to aid her back to the village. She knew nothing of butchery and daren't cut up the venicen here... it would attract unwanted visitors.
She contemplated what to do, standing over her kill, fur-laden arms crossed. She cursed the gods a little as she did so.

Crunch, Crunch.. nothing? the sticks underneath Adkynn's feet disappeared. Who cares, Adkynn was just wandering aimlessly like a young child in a village. No intentions for anything just to observe the surrounding area. Adkynn of corse was only on the island now for a couple weeks. Copper decided just to stick back at the village and snoop around on his own.
"Hmm.. This forest isn't very confusing... But still." For the first time in all of Adkynn's travels she was abit lost. Ok she was lost. Still she could always try and back track. She laughed at herself. "Adkynn.. Adkynn... Your ancestors and their family founded Red Rock! Traveling along mountains, forests, oceans. And you can't find your way around one measly island. Come on!"
She continued walking in silence as she walked along the forest floor. She stopped and saw a stag by the looks of it. Hmm, a random stag. It looked up at her and that's when she was shocked by the fact an arrow periced it. She got down and waited looking over the small rock she decided to take hiding behind. She waited in silence when a young girl came along. A little girl did that. Sre you kidding me? She stood up after a minute of watching the girl.
"That's.. Quite the aim you have there kid." She said moving out from her hiding spot and closer to Ulrika. "I'm Adkynn, You?" She held out her hand and examined her. She might notice the fact that Adkynn isn't dressed like most Vikings, she Dosnt even look like a Viking much.

As soon as the stranger revealed her presence, Ulrika's bow was whipped into position, string pulled back taught with another arrow. Her stance relaxed though, slightly. She was still in hunting mode.
"Don't jump me like that," She started. "I almost mistook you for a bear and almost shot you." Ulrika took note of the foreign clothing. It looked a similar style to that of other outsiders she had seen and knew. Her recent encounter of a strange shadowy individual had made her wary all of a sudden, even of friendly outsiders like Sven.
Despite this somewhat stern warning, she had a giddy grin plastered on her face as she said it. She complimented her shot, after all. "I'm Ulrika... Ulrika the Careless" She frowned at this, then looked to her fresh kill."I told them my new title was pointless!"
Suddenly she pulled her bowstring a little tighter - she couldn't trust her yet! There had been rumours of a theif in the village. "This is my kill. You're not taking it away from me! What do you want, outsider?"
Ulrika knew she had asked the gods for a little help, mostly for Thor and Sleipnir's strength, but who knew such strength would come from an outsider? And without any apparent dragon by her side. She was exprecting something like Pickle Manface the Grim the Third with an Eyepatch. Ulrika began to pout, arrow still aiming for Adkynn's heart.

She almost took me for a bear?! Sounds like an insult to my appearance abit. Adkynn shook her head abit and looked at the Stag again and waiting a minute before deciding to talk again.
"Ulrika. Hmm.. Interesting name I have to say. but the careless? Seems like you have made quite the name for yourself on your island." She laughed at her comment wondering how a little girl like Ulrika would actually get the name like something like that of Ulrika the careless. She again shook her head of the though not wanting or by that fact really needing to think about it further.
"I just told you my name so please don't refer to me as Outsider thank you. She stated to her. god, I do hope not everyone is like this on the island. She looked at Ulrika and the arrow that was aimed for her. "Girl, if you don't put that down and take the arrow of the Bow we might have a little problem." She tapped the long sword that sat on her hip in its 'waiting' place until it needed to be used again.
Adkynn waited, her hand gripped around the handle of the sword and ready to move out of the way if Ulrika decided to attack her for any reason. "I'm simply looking around the island." She stated. "Much colder then red rock." she mumbled abit.

Ulrika shrugged at Adkynn. Arrow still knocked in the bow, she smirked a little at her second comment. "It's fiiiiine. I know how to wield a bow." As she said this, she waved the bow and arrow exaggeratingly in Adkynn's general direction tauntingly, not letting go of the half-pulled string. But the outsider made a motion to the sword that sat on her belt, whoch made her stop the childish action.
"Hey, if you kill me people will he mad and hunt you down like, I did this deer." She said, oblivious that there were a rare few Vikings back in the village that cared about her. She looked back to her kill, bringing the little girl back to her priorities. Surely angry dragons will soon be swarming for the taste of fresh meat - including her own.
"Speaking of deer, I need to get this back to the village pronto. So instead of killing ne, could you be productive and help me carry this thing home? I'm strong, but I'm not Pickle-Strong." Ulrika asked. She remembered watching a training session of the brawn Viking stop his dragon in it's tracks with a good solid punch in the nose.
She moved over to the dead body, shifting the dead weight to the front of the carcass - the heaviest part of the body was hauled over her shoulders. The other half the the animal remained trailing on the ground. It was obvious the animal was heavy.
"A little help?" She asked for the final time. If she didn't help, Ulrika would try and move this herself, half a pelt ruined was better than ruining meat and antlers.

Adkynn laughed a little as she watched the girl try and lift the deer herself. She shuffled her feet and walked over to the other end of the deer. She crouched down and grabbed underneath and lifted it up and off of the ground. She adjusted it in her hands to get a better lift on it. "Okay. Start walking to the village." After Ulrika starts walking she starts up Aswell.
She took glances around the forest as they walked. It was pretty much the same way she had come to get to the area in the first place so she decided just to do second glances. All there was, was the normal. Trees that started to become less dense the closer the came to the village. The slight view of the ocean through the trees to one side and the view of the mountains that towered over the island on the other side. it was quite the island to Adkynn. the only mountains that she had seen in her life aside from the ones here on Berk, was back at Red Rock. The entire mountain range that cut Red Rock off from the land world aside from the main split in the mountains to go back and forth from the main area to Red Rock.
"So." Was all Adkynn could say before she felt a nudge on her back. She swung her head around and looked at the Bronze Nadder before she smiled. "Hey Copper." She said before she saw him eye the Deer. "No this isn't for you. We can get you fish later." Copper nodded his head in agreement before he just walked behind them,

Ulrika grinned as Adkynn offered to help, lightening her load. She lead the outsider back towards where the village was. Ulrika knew the outskirts of the village well. She often had to get through the forest to get to her favourite rock formation that looked over the Sullen Sea.
The trees began to grow thinner and further apart, meaning they were nearing the open plains where the village lay. Ulrika was pleased that she would be able to get this carcass home in one piece. Everyone will be so proud of her feat! Adkynn helps, but only helping to lift the stag. Ulrika did everything else by herself though.
Suddenly a force behind her made the stag lurch forwards, shoving Ulrika to the floor. Her relfexes made her break the fall with her forearms, but the weight of the main body of the stag crashing on top almost winded her.
Panting she only just pushed the meat away, recovering to her feet. "What where you're going! you could've broken the antlers! They're really valuable..." Her voice trailed off as Adkynn was now preoccupied with making sure that a copper-coloured Deadly Nadder wouldn't eat her prized catch. The way Adkynn was talking to the beast... it was obviously hers.
"Woooww you have a dragon?" All tone of irritance had completely disappeared. Ulrika didn't realise that it was the dragon nudging Adkynn that shunted her. Still mostly in hunter mode, but evident she was transitioning back to her village-explorer self, she scooped up what was supposed to be her main priority and slung the beast over her shoulder, and continued on her path.
"How did you get your dragon?" She asked. The wafts of smoke betraying the villages presence was in sight.

"Where did I find him? well not on Berk that's for sure." She laughed at her comment.
Adkynn looked around the forest as the trees grew further apart. the breeze became more noticeable because the trees weren't blocking the winds now. she smiled ad the wind moved her brown hair around, it was clear she didn't like having her hair in any kind of braids.
"When I was a little younger, I always used to walk along the beaches of Red Rock and watch the trade ships come and go. It was so relaxing just sitting their in the warm sun." She smiled as she looked down. "But one day when I went there Copper just poped out of no where. He was extremely friendly and didn't run or get scared when I approached him at all. I started visiting him more often and we grew a bond I guess. Then we just became riding partners."
Adkynn watched as they came closer to the village. It was visible by now over the hill. Adkynn wasn't getting tired but Copper kept eyeing the stag the entire walk. It was clear he was hungry and could eat the entire stag by himself.

Adkynn explained how she got her Dragon. Ulrika listened. She had learnt some names of surrounding islands in the Archipelago, but this place was unfamiliar to the young Viking-In-Training.
"Never heard of Red Rock before." She started. "I heard Svenny had travelled around a lot, maybe he would know." Ulrika wasn't aware that she was talking about a man this Outsider most likely wouldn't know. What's more, she didn't know that Sven was also from Red Rock.
Reaching the brow of the hill, below the village lay out before them, and after that, the Sullen Sea. Ulrika presented the village to the newcomer.
"This is Berk. We have fishing, hunting, and charming views of the sunsets. It snows nine months of the year, and hails the other three. Most Outsiders would leave. Not us. We're Vikings. We have stubbornness issues. But who could complain! We have Dragons here."
Ulrika began to make her way down to where she would find the Butcher's house. The Butcher was one of the very few Vikings who tolerated Ulrika, due to her fine kills she would bring in for the village and her own family.

Adkynn's jaw almost dropped when she heard the name Svenny. Get rid of the Ny part and its Sven. She knew Sven all too well in some parts of his personallity, and very little in others. She smiled as she looked over at the village.
"You know, if its the Sven your talking about then i know him. Blonde hair. About twenty, or twenty one by now. What was his job... Um..." She thoght for a moment. "Ah yea, Dragonligst." She said looking around. "Wait, So Sven is actually here? Wow.."
Adkynn looked at the village as they walked through. She remembered when she and copper first got here. they landed like idiots right in the middle of the village. and by idiots she means the fact that someone could of attacked them without them realizing it. The village to her was small. Compared to Red Rock atleast. Red Rock was double, triple, maybe even bigger then that to the size of Berk. Of Corse Berk would be smaller because its on an island and not on the main land which makes more sense in this case but still. She figured that if they started clearing out some of the tree line by the village they could probably build a bigger expansion of the village that way. If the needed too of corse.
