Stupid question. And kinda introducing myself

Ummm hi there. I'm new to the site and was a little unsure on something. I did try sending messages to the mods, but each time I did it came up with "Error" So i was unsure if they had gone through or not. And i did not want to be annoying my re-sending messages because I know that can be a bit naggy... I'm not exactly the smartest of people and I've got a low level case Autism. So my head sometimes just can't get around things. Heh'... But I'm keen to Role Play in the HTTYD field. I've RP'ed before as many different characters of a large amount of races, each with different personalities and histories and so on. So I hope I've enough experience to fit in with everyone else and there RP.

Anyway I'm ranting.

Getting to my stupid question.... I was a little unsure on Dragon Characters. And I was wondering if it would be acceptable for me to start off with a Changewing as my character. And if so, do I need to have a Viking character as well, or would it be alright just to have a single character of the Dragon kind?

Heh', I'm sorry if I'm being stupid by asking. And I hope that I can get my App done soon and get Role Playing!

Its fine, everyone asks them when they first join this site (Including me), and I have to hold myself back quite a bit from ranting myself + I have the same kind of problems with getting things straight in my head. Yes of course it's fine to make just a dragon, it's why there's a dragon section on the Human app, so you don't have to make two apps for one account or feel obliged to make a human for your dragon. I will just give a heads up though. We do not recomend you make a dragon as your first char, you can do so (there are a few good examples who those that have pulled it of as a starter account) but generally wild dragons are harder to RP than humans/human+tame because they aren't as easy to create moments for. Like I say you don't have to listen to my advise, just be aware that they are harder to keep running than Berkite residents.

Anyway, If you have any more questions, stupid or not, don't hesitate to ask them. And I didn't get one atleast, I don't know about Red and Abyss.

Thanks for your advice. My idea for the Dragon would be for her to be wild at first, but having lived around the outskirts of the Village would have some understanding of the relationships Vikings and Dragons have, and be herself looking for a Viking in a way. Or rather the way she would do it would be overly friendly and stalkerish until she is allowed to stay, hahaha. Long story short I've intention to get the lil scaly tamed in the first few threads. I've made quite a few human, and human like races on other places. I've even RP'ed as a mute. So i am rather keen to RP as a Dragon, and the opportunity to do so here is what really attracted me to the site. That and i noticed when looking over some of the RP's already in progress... People here actually write more than a single paragraph! I was so excited when i saw that. Haha. Anyway, if i ever have trouble with her, I'm sure i can put together a budding young viking to help her progress. Thanks again. I'll hopefully get the app up soon then.

Lol yeah, we have a 200min word count rule for that reason. And a mute, I like that kind of idea. I do love how people (including me) like the idea of giving their characters disabilities to make things more interesting. Abyss gave out leader very bad hearing, quite a few people have given their chars missing limbs. I gave my blacksmith an eyesight that will slowly go away and vertigo. I'm not to keen on following the former one through though, seeing that a blind character has very little that can be written about and in a world of dragons she'd be too endangered, so I just play with the vertigo and the fears it's caused.

Anyway, out chars aside. I like your idea for your dragon, truth is the advise I gave is mainly aimed for anyone that thinks RPing an antisocal dragon is a good move. I don't know if there are any humans that'll take you in (One thing I always say is that I would offer but none of my chars have free slots), but as you say, if all else fails you can make a human, I think my favorate thing is seeing people who make their dragon first and have as an NPC human in their life. Anyway, can't wait to see your app!

It's nice to know that lots of people on here have characters with varying disadvantages. I'm admittedly tired of people having "Perfect" characters all the time. Another reason why i try to give my characters some sort of disadvantage. For Meko it's that she is surprisingly over clumsy and startled easily by loud noises. That and her over friendly and over curious attitude gets her in more trouble then it should. Hehehe. I'm giggling at the idea of the leader having bad hearing. I can picture someone trying to say something important and the leader not quite hearing it. And slowly fading sight and vertigo 'eh? I've not met someone with a character with either before. Well, full blindness yes, but not fading sight. I assume it would take a while for the sight to be dramatically effected to get more RP'ing pleasure there. Hehe. And they would be damned in a thread with Meko. She moves around enough on her own to make anyone dizzy.

An idea with the blindness i gave two of my friends who was making blind characters on other places was to have the characters senses slightly heightened by the loss of sighed. Allowing them to "See" via vibrations in the ground, air and sounds to, in a way "Echo-locate" around there environment. Admittedly there characters where not exactly human and had naturally heightened hearing due to there race or abilities. But it's still a plausible idea since there are blind people out there that can get around pretty easily by doing such a thing.

And antisocial Dragon? Not for me. Haha. With a rider yeah, but for a Dragon on her own. Defiantly a more naive, curious, friendly dragon. Anyway. Even if ya don't have a Viking spare. It would be nice to RP with you Or well with anyone really.

And I'm babbling on... Hahaha. I'll shut my mouth for a bit and work on that app.

Yeah, on average you can tell how much people are into RPing by if they have at least one char with some form of imperfection that holds them back in a way that if done badly would make them hard to rp with. I mainly use Kenna’s vertigo as a cause for her fear of hieghts and water, both of which she’s been fighting. I do every now and then have the earge to make her fully blind (she’s a blacksmith, it’s easy to do it), but I know that I wouldn’t be able to pull it off and it would take her years to gain enough ability to be able to useable as an RP char. Also, she’s 28, she’s too old to really learn anything properly at her age.

Oh, almost forgot the other main add in I’ve given a char. I run the leader of Hysteria and I decided to make him Scizophrenic which is also really fun to write, though I do need to make my posts a bit less coeherent than what they are.

Anyway, I’ve got three chars who I’ll gladly throw into the fray with your dragon, and I think Red will love to have her dragonologist rp with a Changewing, specally seeing that she’s thinking of giving him one once Hermes leaves him. I’m babbling myself so don’t worry about it.

I'll agree, charries are only fun when they have something about them you can play and exploit with. It doesn't always have to be a flaw - My dragon character, Scratchet, she has her flaws, but they don't bother enough to be too much of a drawback. Instead she like's to make everyone's day a misery. It's quite fun XD

And yes, when Hermes leaves Sven I've been in the balance of choosing whether he will eventually have a NPC-changewing, or try and give single-dragon characters a chance to bloom by taking those said dragons under his 'wing'. XD But if you're choosing a changewing, that could definitely be advantageous XD... And if that changewing starts to stalk SVen and Hermes before Hermes leaves, that's going to mess up her sense of reality even more. MWHAHAHAHAHA

Anywho, welcome to the site, continue hollering us with questions if you have them, we really don't mind ^_^ I can't wait to see your app!

The Hysterian leader a Schizophrenic? We are doomed!!! Hahahaha. I've RP'ed as a few with that condition, it's brilliant fun. Not as fun actually suffering with it... Or rather in my case a lesser form of it that can lead to it called Psychosis. But still. Fun as heck RP'ing. Crazy characters can sometimes be the most entertaining. Not that darker, quieter characters aren't to. I've had fun with some real humbugs as well. Hehe.

:3 I'd love to RP with ya both if Meko gets approved. She's taking longer then i thought considering i ended up re-writing the History/Origins and Physical Description four times to try and get more detail in. Haha. Although it should not be to long......... I've got to wrap up the Origins, throw in a RP sample and re-check for anything else to add before putting it up. Hopefully it's not to shoddy... I'm terrible when it comes to using unfamiliar apps. I'm not even used to calling them apps. I'm used to calling them bios. But meh, essentially the same thing when it comes down to it.

Anyways, as for questions. I can't think of any, at the moment per say. Perhaps a run down on any other little things that would be useful to know?
