DATE & TIME : July 17th. Mid-day. WEATHER CONDITIONS : Sunny. Very few clouds CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Adkynn, Sven. PREVIOUS THREADS ? Bragging Rights.
The slight ocean breeze swept across Adkynns face. She smiled as she sat on a fish barrel at the top of the port. Copper sat beside her watching the birds and dragons go through the air or along the ground. Adkynn looked around the village, she was looking for Sven. An old friend of hers from Red Rock. She was very suprised when she learned from Ulrika that Sven ended up here after his travels. It must of been a stroke of luck.
Adkynn tapped against the fish barrel and copper looked down at her with eyes that just said he wanted some fish. Adkynn rolled her eyes and reached in throwing after fish off to copper to munch on. Copper gobbled it up fast and was content for now. She wiped her hands off abit from the fish and looked over. She saw the person she was looking for.
"Copper, stay here. And dont eat all the fish or Derek is going to have a cow." She said as she walked off. Slowly walking keeping the pace taht Sven was. But staying far enough behind so he wouldn't notice.
"Because ya know Adkynn. Stalking someone like an assasin isn't creppy at all. Why dont you just shoot him with an arrow in the back now? Get your creepa-sode done now." She muttered to herself.

Sven had returned from the leather workers, with a new bottom for his saddle. Unlike other placed he visited, these people seemed to be professionals in making durable hides for saddles. He had received some brand new layers, and had been admiring the handiwork. He was now hauling the saddle back somewhere, hoping to catch Hermes' eye, wherever she was.
He strode past the port, and occasionally looked to the skies, hoping to find the damn Ambassador. He new she was always eager when a saddle got renewed, because it had a habit of feeling better than a worn out one.
Suddenly a black figure appeared as a silhouette in the sky, circling above him like a giant crow. He smiled as Hermes made a final lap and landed elegantly before Sven. He grinned, and Hermes had an excitable air about her.
"It's done? Good! Getitongetitongetiton!" She said, prancing about slightly. Sven didn't need to be told twice. Hermes quickly calmed down and allowed the Dragonologist to gear her up. As he did so, she looked around, and noticed there was some random person in the distance keeping an eye on Sven. She didn't know her, so she cocked her head a little.
"Hey, there's some weird person following you, you know that right?" She felt Sven stop.
"What?" He turned around, at first not seeing, but there, sure enough in the distance, he definitely saw someone. His eyes widens as alarm bells rang in his mind. Could it be? No.. Yes!
Sven forgot about the saddle, leaving it half done. It slipped to one side slightly, much to Hermes' distaste. She pecked at it to dislodge it completely, letting it fall to the floor. Looking back, Sven had gone right ahead.
Getting closer, Sven's mind was fixed, a pleased but shocked smile on his face. "A-Adkynn? Is that really you?" He said, his voice obviously containing disbelief. An old friend of Red Rock, here? He gave her a friendly hug. "Damn, it's been so long! How've you been?"
Behind him, Hermes clucked irritably. Sven glanced backwards, the dragon obviously disatisfied with him abandoning her. She had somehow slung the saddle haphazardly onto her back. Sven's mind clicked - Adkynn wouldn't have met Hermes - as soon as a mutual agreement had been formed, Sven had disappeared. Until then, he only met Hermes during his work on the fields with his father. Whenever Hermes returned to Red Rock, she strictly refused to enter the civilisation.
"Oh, Adkynn, you've probably not met Hermes. She's an Ambassador Dragon, I guess you could call her my work colleague."

Adkynn giggled a little and hugged Sven back. She pulled away and moved the hair off her face.
"To freaking long. Jesus, I have been very good. How are you latley Sven?" Adkynn smiled as she adjusted his jacket and the sword on her hip.
A small breeze blows by them keeping the area quiet. Adkynn looks around as she hears Dragon steps behind her. She turns around and looks up at copper who would have a barrel in his mouth.
"You didn't.." she said as copper dropped the barrel onto the ground and the fish fall out. Adkynn looks at the fish and face palms. "You havnt met Copper have you." she said. As she layed a hand on coppers chest. "Copper. This is Sven and Hermes. Friends of mine." Copper lets out a small snort but he would be happy and content.
"I heard over there, ambassador dragon? I've seen one of you before back at Red Rock." Copper said to Hermes.
Adkynn looked at the fish. She shook her head. "You know copper if Derek finds out he's gonna flip out on you." Adkynn said laughing. She looked at Sven and smiled. "So what's new with your life?"

Adkynn returned the pleasantries. He grinned. He didn't want her to know he'd been through a pretty traumatic time, with the war against Hysteria and all. "I'm doing pretty good, thank you. My work's coming along great too." With this he pulled out his book, which was no longer flat like it had been when he first recieved it. It was worse for wear, tags of paper jutting out at odd points and mostly overloaded with information. Mostly about dragons. He put it back in his inner coat pocket again.
He noticed a red-orange dragon come over the brow of the hill, trotting to Adkynn's side. It was a Deadly Nadder, easy to recognise. It had a barrel in it's mouth. Both Sven and Hermes gave a quizzical expression at the same time as it dropped the barrel, which it's contents were fish. They both knew of a Nadder who did similar sorts of things. But it was turquoise.
Sven shook his head. "I don't think you had a dragon when I was still around on Red Rock. So I guess not." He nodded at Copper. "Pleased to meet you, Copper." Sven said. Hermes made no comment, until it said he had seen an Ambassador before.
She shook her neck to disguise the fact that her scales bristled at the thought of another Ambassador in the vicinity of her HomeCave. A crest flicked, obviously concerned about a potential trespasser. Thinking about it, her scales eventually flattened again. "Could've been me. She said, trying to shrug it off, though the thought still bugged her.
Sven chuckled as Adkynn scolded her dragon. He also had similar issues with Hermes, but she often won anyway. She quickly returned to the conversation. He pondered briefly on the question. He wasn't going to blab that he had been mentally scarred and had to take a Viking's eye out with his fingers, amongst other activities. "Oh, nothing much. I've been here since January. Doesn't look like Hermes is ready to migrate yet... That's good for me, though. There are soooo many dragons here, my work is cut out for me!" Hermes snorted, knowing full well he was lying... slightly.

Copper shook his head abit as he looked at Hermes. "No. It couldn't of been you. It was bigger then you and unless you shrunk in that time." he stated looking at Hermes. Copper looked at Sven and nodded his head. "Hi."
Adkynn looked at the book and the condition it was in. she thought for a moment. "Sven that book is pretty old looking. Your able to move the pages." She said as she looking into her bag. "I have a new hard cover book with no pages you could just slip them into." She kept rummaging through her back until she pull out a black, hard covered book with nothing inside. "Of corse just wrap the leather bindings into a hole in the pages so they stay in the book." ?she said as she handed the cover off to Sven.
She threw her bag back on her back. "Even if you don't want to move the pages I'll et you keep that page holder. Incase you change your mind sometime soon." She smiled and looking around the area for a minute and adjusted her hair, moving it off her face.
"Since January.. Hmm. I came here after that battle with those other Vikings, what were they ... Hystarians. My cousin told me when I got here about it." she looked at Sven again. "But I havnt been here for too long I guess."

Hermes didn't even bother to hide her irritance now. Her scales began to look dishevelled as they raised from their normally relaxed position. She began to grumble. Another Ambassador was in her territory? She wished so desperately that instinct would come now to whisk her away home... but it didn't come. She stomped her foot in annoyance. "Well, that's just great." She said, with extreme sarcasm.
Sven raised his eyebrows a little when Adkynn said his book was old. Sure it was a little tattered, but it hadn't been filled yet. There was still a lot of stuff about dragons here that he didn't know of yet. And of course, dragons yet to be discovered.
Adkynn presented to him an empty book, literally. It had no pages, just a hardback cover. He gave a little quizzical look, but accepted it nontheless. Inspecting it, it looked a lot more durable that what he had right now. Sven let her explain herself. He smiled. It was a somewhat odd and random gift from an old friend, but it was the thought that counted.
"Well, uh, thanks!" He said. "I'm sure this will come to good use when my book finally bursts into smithereens." He swung his bag around and stored the cover into his bag. He'd do that sometime later, maybe when it was hailing and he couldn't get out of Hermes' dank cave.
Adkynn made a comment about the war. He frowned. "Yeah... the war." He grimaced. He didn't particularly enjoy thinking back to that. He had added it to the list of things that shouldn't come up as a regular thought - like Kari. "Hysterians, yeah." He confirmed as Adkynn wasn't sure what they were called. "If it wasn't for us they would have taken us by suprise..." The something clicked. "Wait, you have a cousin here?" He shrugged. Always new suprises. Sven knew that Adkynn was close with one of her cousins, but he couldn't for the love of gods remember the name. Was it Calvin? Callum? He let go of the thought, since he never really knew the guy much anyway.
"Berk is pretty nice, if you're willing to support the hailstorms and the cold weather... And Scratchet." He joked. "Most of the people are nice... Even if they don't appear that way."
Sven, who hadn't really been paying attention to the conversation between Copper and Hermes, looked at the bristling Ambassador. He tilted his head, realising the saddle was still awkwardly resting on her back. He lifted it off, not wanting it to get damaged too soon. "Are you angry because we're not trying the saddle yet?" He asked, but Hermes was totally out of it to even notice.

Adkynn smiled a bit and looked around the area. She looked at copper and rubbed his shoulder. Copper moved his tail and poked Adkynns back with it. His tail spikes laid down. She looked back at Sven.
"My cousin. I think you have met him. Curtis. Remember?" She shook her head abit and looked back at Copper. Copper nudged her afew times and said something. "Really? Now?" Adkynn said. Copper looked at her in the eyes and said something else. "Fine. You big lug."
Adkynn looked over at Sven and smiled. "What would you and Hermes think of going for a fly? No races. Just a fly. Coppers bugging me about it." Adkynn looked at Sven and waited for a response.
The sun beat down onto the island from the heavens above. The village was busy with the vikings every day businesses and chores. There would be a breeze along the air.

Sven clicked his fingers as the name of Adkynn's cousin revealed to be Curtis. Sven knew Curtis, but only recently on Berk had been interacting with him. Mostly comprising of awkward situations.
Sven smiled as Copper began to pester Adkynn again. The subject seemed to be about the matter of flight, as Sven understood dragonese. The old friend proceeded to invite the Dragonologist and his dragon to a flying session. This snapped Hermes out of her angry mood. Her crests perked up and attention diverted to the humans. Sven laughed.
"Of course! We'd love to! In fact, we were meaning to try out the new saddle we got. And of course, no races." Sven accepted, being sure not to talk about Hermes' lack of speed her species possesed. Instead her dexterity in the air made up for the loss.
Sven began to put the saddle on Hermes, this time putting it on for real. He mounted Hermes and put his feet in the stirrups. Hermes was quickly giddy again and immediately shot into the air to catch a breeze, taking Sven by suprise, not yet prepared.. Both of them quickly had grins on their faces. Stability in the wind allowing Sven to adjust himself correctly.
"Let's get this saddle tested!" He leaned slightly to look over at Adkynn and Copper. "You have a destination in mind?" He called out.
Hermes was busy planning a more advanced saddle-testing routine as she hung in mid-air.

Copper lowered himself down abit and Adkynn slipped into the saddle. She nodded and looked over at Sven.
"If we go around the side of the mountians then down towards the north coast." She said looking into the sky for a moment. "Alright Copper. Let's go."
As Adkynn said that Copper raised himself up and jumped into the air and started flying towards the mountian sides away from the village. It was nice to be back up in the air. Copper seemed to be really enjoying it aswell. He swung his tail around a little but in a happy way instead. You could tell he was relaxed because his tail spikes were slowly going down, not to aware of anything thats around him aside from Sven and Hermes.
Adkynn looked around for Sven and Hermes. When they came up beside the two of them she smiled at them. She enjoyed seeing Sven again, It had been so long and they were such good friends.
"So, found anything intersting latley?" She said over to him.

Sven patted Hermes' neck as Adkynn suggested a place to go. A snorting sound made it clear that she had heard it, and hovered a little longer until Copper had also taken flight. Hermes let them lead the way, until she had an idea where they were going, before coming up besides them. Hermes was definitely enjoying the breeze. She let the wind ripple through her loose scales, making a shimmering dance of dark blue light.
Sven returned the smile Adkynn gave. She called over the winds if he had seen anything interesting lately. It was good question. "Well-" He started, until Hermes flipped over, inverting her scales so they would keep her aloft, though it made her very unstable. Sven instantly began to hold on for dear life, knees digging into her sides.
"Hermes!" Sven shouted, before giving an exasperating sigh. "Come on! I'm talking here!" Hermes chuckled a little, swerving sharply as a gust of wind unbalanced her. "HERMES BEHAVE!" Sven yelled, as he could feel himself being thrown off. Hermes complied, somewhat reluctantly.
Sven relaxed his grip as she did, slapping Hermes' neck. She wouldn't feel it through the scales, and he only did it lightly, but it was a good enough reminder. He gave another sigh. "As I was saying -"
Hermes dropped out of the sky. You could hear Sven yelling FUUUUUUUUuuuuuu at Hermes to get in line and stop messing around as there was a friend he hadn't seen in ages. Suddenly swooping at the last minute before performing an upwards spiral, Hermes snickered again.
"I thought you wanted to test the saddle?" She said, with a mischevous smile. Sven groaned.
"Not like this! It's fine! Now get back down there!" He said, pushing with his arms down on Hermes back. She did so, snapping her wings shut again and diving once again. She extended her wings and rump rudders at the last minute, letting the oncoming wind slow her down quicker. She quickly settled besides Copper again.
"You're boring sometimes, Sven."
"Shut up." He snapped back. He turned back to Adkynn. "Sorry about that. Hermes tends to do her own thing sometimes." He went silent for a moment, expecting Hermes to go off again on a random stunt. She didn't do anything of the sort. Good.
"I've studied loads of new species here, Adkynn. It's all pretty good!" Sven said, instantly talking about his work. It was his passion, after all. "There are a lot of species here that you just don't get, even on Red Rock!"
He knew he shouldn't really talk about it for his sake, but Sven was curious. "So, has Red Rock changed much since I last visited there?" It had been already a few years since his last visit to his homeland. He just hoped there was no bad news.

Adkynn sat in the saddle on copper and looked over to Sven. She was just bout to say something before Hermes started dragging Sven all over the place. Once Sven had come back up again Adkynn smirked abit. "As I was about- " before she could even finished the sentence Hermes dropped out of the sky again. Adkynn face palmed and starting laughing to herself.
She waited until Sven and Hermes came back up. When they did she looked at them and listened to Sven talk. She nodded her head abit and looked around.
"Not a whole lot. We have a new leader again. Female this time." She smiled and looked back to Sven. "We were attacked by those damn mountaineers again. You know the ones with the village tucked away safely in the mountain ranges near Red Rock? Yea. They tried to attack us at night. If it wasn't for the nightly patrols they would of got us off guard. But, they got into the city center. We knew they were there and when that brazier went up in light, they realized we were surrounding them completely." Adkynn laughed as she Remembered the thought, bunch of young and old guys in that group too. I find it funny that they havnt been able to get any dragons on their side. But I guess the dragons help only one side."

Adkynn filled Sven on on the status of Red Rock. He made a motion with his head at the prospect of a new leader. But then Adkynn spoke of what he dreaded to hear. Mountaineer raids.
He gulped, feeling his stomach cringe a little. Sven's family lived on the outskirts of Red Rock, where the lands were vaster than in town, so they could take care of their livestock properly. That usually meant his home tended to be first in line for raids. Sometimes they'd come and try to steal their sheep. He remembered as a boy how his father defiantly defended the house, along with the livestock. He tried to teach Sven basic combat, but he didn't have the fight in him to do so.
He sighed at the memory, now worrying about the present. They attacked at night? There aren't night patrols so far out of the town, where there are less people. He was glad that the Mountaineers were taken care of, but there would always be casualties to any fight.
Sven, having his opinion on warfare and fightin confirmed during the conflict with Hysteria, he didn't share Adkynn's enthusiasm. It almost made her sound slightly sadistic. He frowned.
"Adkynn..." He started, somewhat quieter. Hermes shifted her position in the air as the winds changed slightly, so their voices could still be carried over the short distance. "My family. Do you know if they're okay?" He asked, with genuine concern on his voice.
He wished he could go home to see his family. But Hermes' instincts hadn't made any realy move to go back to her Homecave. After travelling the world for five years already, he had only returned home twice.

Adkynn looked into the sky and smiled as the wind whipped her hair off of her face. She looked around the island really getting a look at all of the features. It was a lot of plateaus and mountians with flat tops on them. It was easy to build on them, harder to figure out how to get from one to another. But understandable how people can build here. There was also a lot of trees around the island.
Adkynn was about to say something when she realized the sudden silence. She looked over to Sven to see what was wrong before he spoke. He asked about his family and the farm during the last mountianeer attack on the town. She bobbed her head abit and looked at him.
"Don't worry. I personally checked up on them after the attack to see if they were ok. They only stole a sheep. Other then that, no other damages or inguries to anyone." She smiled looking over at Sven before looking out infront of them. "You know they really only go after the people that are inside of the city limits. The farms usally never get touched aside from a stolen animal or two." Adkynn stated to Sven.
Adkynn looked around the area curiously again after the small tension was off her shoulder, along with Sven's aswell most likely. It wasn't the end of the world when the mountianeers attack the town, they almost never won any of the fights with the guards. Much less the actual citizens.
The wind was cool up at the level they were at. Not freezing cold, but still cool enough to make you shiver every now and then. It was both nice, and annoying at the time. It was almost like the suns warmth was trying to combat the chilly winds force.
Adkynn looked over to Sven and smiled. "Any other questions to want to ask about home?"

Sven relaxed as Adkynn reassured that his family was safe. He gave a sigh of relief, before glancing over the island below. "Thanks. That means a lot to me." He said gratefully. He was glad at least one friend still cared, even though he had disappeared from Red Rock for so long.
Adkyn reminded him how the Mountaineers usually attacked. "I know that." He replied glumly. Mountaineers were definitely a horrible thorn in Sven's side to remember about. Sven had developed a bitter hate for them. And he wasn't the kind of man who'd easily hate people.
Adkynn asked him if he wanted to know anything else. He shook his head. "No thanks. I'd rather not know too much." He didn't really want to linger his thoughts on a place that had given him so much joy and pain simulaneously. "I don't belong to that way of life anymore. I wouldn't want to return to that either."
There was a brief silence. Sven then leant over to pat Hermes on the neck. "How's the saddle faring? Not too uncomfortable?" He asked. He felt a vibration underneath him as Hermes grumbled.
"Sure. But I still want to do some testing of my own." She replied. Sven smiled.
"Maybe later." He reassured.
I'm not going to be able to reply as soon as I used to be able to, it'd be great if we can slowly make our way to the end of this RP, more for my sake than anything else >.>

"Thanks. That means a lot to me"Adyknn heard Sven say. She smiled over at him and nodded abit. It was true, she knew that Sven's family ment a lot to him. Then again, who's family doesn't mean a lot to them? Adkynn looked forward for a second. "It wasn't a big deal."
Adkynn looked around for a moment thinking to herself. It was pretty quiet up here. Sven wasn't saying much more, maybe it wasn't the best idea to bring up the topic about home? Maybe that wasn't it and it was something else that was on Svens mind. Either way he was being quiet. Adkynn looked over Coppers side and saw the edge of the village below them.
"Sven, Follow me." Adkynn yelled over to him. She slowly pushed Copper downwards to the ground. Going at a fast, but gentle pace. Adkynn moved the hair off her face and held on again. She looked at the ground and slowly pulled Copper up. He landed on the ground taking a few quick steps just after impact to slow down. Adkynn slid off of his back and looked over to the village. After Sven touched down Adkynn looked over at him.
"Well I guess ill let you go now. Just wanted to catch up to see how you were doing." Adkynn said.
