DATE & TIME : July 30th WEATHER CONDITIONS : Pouring Rain CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Venny&Camo, Ari, and who ever else whom wants to join in. PREVIOUS THREADS ? N/A
Sure it was fairly dangerous to be practicing dare devil stunts out in the rain, however a stubborn gal and her lovely Changewing flew over the trees at high speeds. Venny's clothes were soaked as much as an ocean had splashed her, but she didn't actually consider the thought of coming down with the flu. Being sick was for losers. "Alright Camo, pull up!" Venny yelled over the sound of the pouring rain as an order.
The dragon made a sharp turn up, having the rain droplets fall down on his orange scales. He swore he heard thunder some where about, "I don't like the sound of that," he growled to himself as he stopped the flight in mid air. Venny, who was confused at the action began ordering him again. "Camo! We're in the middle of practice, surely we can take a break after!"
The viking brushed her braid behind her ear as she went along with Camo's descend back to the grassy area that was nearer to the village. It was where they start the practice. Another sound of thunder roared in the sky accompanying a crackle of lightning. "Perhaps it's best if we get a move on," Camo thought as he crawled underneath one of the larger trees of the forest. Venny sneezed lightly as she tried to maintain her hold on her dragon. "I am beginning to wonder why I do these things for you," the Changewing sighed.

Ari looked up at the sky as the lighting flashed. He cursed himself that he’d gone out herb picking today. He’d known it was most likely to rain today, but he hadn’t realised it would turn into a full storm. He needed to get back to home quickly.
He looked up at the sound of flying about him, a changlwing shot past the spot he was on. Ari just saw the shape of a human on top of it, probably a kid given the stupidity of what the dragon was doing. He groaned and started moving in the direction the dragon was flying. It was nearly in the direction of town anyway and he had a feeling he’d need to go over to them to make sure they weren’t going to keep on being stupid.
As he got near the village he saw the dragon land in the clearing just Thor was sending another call out. The dragon started moving towards a tree. Ari shook his head as he kept limping towards the couple, “Hey!” he shouted to them, “Get away from that tree, do you want to kill yourself?” He knew they weren’t safe out in the open, but being by trees we was worse.

Venny jumped at the sound of the shouting, she turned around to see a person with a limp. She would had refused the order but it was a storm and it made sense anyway. "C'mon, it's not likely for a tree to get struck by fire," Camo grumbled as he crawled away from the large tree. "Do I want to get killed? I don't know, will it be a shock?" Venny asked under her breath with a small chuckle. She cleared her throat and had Camo keep walking away from the tree.
"Sorry! Apparently my dragon forgot about... trees," Venny mumbled as she stared at the Changewing. "Why do you blame everything on me?" Venny looked around, the storm was getting worse, another lightning crackled. She looked at the old man, it looked like he was gathering some herbs, typical for the elderly. "Hey old timer, when is the storm going to end?" Venny asked yelling, he was somewhat of shouting distance. The Sharpblade could clearly tell this grouch was no fan of children.
Camo looked up at Venny in disbelief that she called an elder 'old timer', oh the traits of having a child for a rider. "We are so getting killed," Camo sighed.

The dragon turned round and started to crawl towards Ari as he continued to limp to him. The girl apologised for her dragon’s idiocy, though the shaman assumed they were both being stupid. He looked up at the sky at the next peel of thunder.
He was about to surgest they both get moving when he heard the words he hated…Old timer…He looked up at the girl, glaring slightly at her. Once he’d gotten closer he said, with equal volume, “How am I supposed to know? Only the gods what when weather will change. Now come on, we need to get back to the village.”
When he got to where the girl he thumped her on the side with his staff (though not hard enough to actually damage her). “Come on Venny!” as he passed her another bolt of lightning passed over head, hitting a tree a bit off from them. It burst into flames and made Ari jump slightly.
“We need to get back, now.” he quickened his pace slightly, though not much faster since he wouldn’t go over his comfortable maximum and risk falling over. He looked up at the sky above, it was so much darker than it was a ten minutes before, the lightning had been the best lighting. Another flash happened a bit further away, but with that light he saw something in the skies…a dragon?

Venny silently sighed at the response Ari made, a simple 'No idea' would had done it for her. She caught the glare he made, Venny blinked with no expression, she saw that kind of glares many times when she nicked named someone. Camo nodded at the suggestion to head back to the village.
As soon as Venny was hit with the staff, a small "Ouch!" was let out, she didn't blame him, a lot of old farts hated being old. Camo jumped at the sudden fire of the tree the lightning hit, his Camo Senses were telling him to duck down and cover. "Rightio, alright Camo you heard the Grouch let's go and quick!"
As Camo paced with Ari, Venny looked up to the sky and wow was it dark. After a flash of light rumbled around the cloud, Venny took notice of a shadow of a dragon. "What sort of dragon would be up in that weather?" She asked, squinting her eyes to the sky. "The selfish ones such as ourselves" Camo mumbled as he slowered the pace to also witness the dragon up in the sky. What a strange mystery.
"So... Do we continue the retreat or stay around to get hit?" The viking asked with a smug tone, she really didn't want to be anywhere near here now, and really did not want to go into fisticuffs with another reptile that flies. The one she's riding on is enough for her.

Ari eyed where he’d seen the dragon again and muttered, “In this kind of weather, it’s probably a Skrill, or a mad Night Fury taking the sudden dark as an opportunity to…whatever.” He hadn’t even realised he’d stopped until Venny made the comment. Ari looked at her again, then started walking, flicking his staff behind her before using it.
They entered a wooded area which they had to go through to get back to the village, “keep up a good pace and if a tree gets hit, run.” He said before immediately thinking about him and his running ability. He internally sighed and hoped it wouldn’t come to that.
They passed through the trees quickly and they were just reaching the edge of them again and near where they could get up to the village when Ari’s foot caught on an up sticking root, causing him to trip and fall. The content on his bag flew everywhere.
The old man groaned and started grabbing the herbs and flinging them back into the bag, he didn’t want this to have been a wasted trip, or to have to come out again anytime soon. Ari heard something and froze for a second before continuing with a faster pace. Ari had good enough senses to know, something had noticed them.

Venny couldn't hear the muttering but she took the flickering of his staff as a 'yes we retreat' Camo couldn't help but stare into the sky, whatever it was it certainly caught his attention. Venny tapped Camo's head in order to get him back into focus and follow the old timer. The dragon snorted and did what Venny ordered.
Once Ari explained the rules of the trees, Venny couldn't help but observe the way he was walking. He clearly wasn't a good runner if it were to happen, the viking already knew that her stead would had grabbed him and rush to the village in a hurry. Taunting and helping were to different things and sadly the viking in training had to help out the elder.
The viking sighed as she continued the journey and slightly jumped at the sudden spill that Ari had made. "Can we forget about the flowers and junk? I can help you pick them again after the storm." Venny rolled her eyes at the offer she made, she couldn't believe she would skip practice over the kindness she was giving the grump.
Venny didn't hear the sound but Camo sure did, he automatically camouflage and laid down on the ground with a slight whimper. "Hey! We're trying to move here, Cam!" Venny exclaimed as she gave a gentle kick to his side. "I am so not going to make it in for dinner."

“I need these materials for my medicines, and I’m not coming out again until I have to,” he called out has he quickly tried to get the last few herbs back into his bag, “especially with this weather around!”
He was getting back up when a bolt of lightning hit a tree quite a bit ahead of them. Ari wasn’t massively worried; they could just walk around it before it spread enough for them to be concerned. And then he heard something dive down, a cracking noise and swing up again. Ari realised what was going on the moment a tree to the right of them lit up.
He looked back at the Viking in training and saw his dragon had camouflaged itself, the dragon knew what was happening too. “We need to move now!” He started to jog, but as he got near a possible escape route, the dive, crack and rise happened again. And then again. As they moved more of these happened, as well as more thunderbolts, and with each cycle, more trees were lighting up.
Ari knew what was causing all this, how it was causing it, though he hadn’t got any idea why. Well, he could guess. But there was no way he could get away now by himself, they were nearly surrounded by a ring of fire (and would be by the time they got to the few openings left), which the train would not put out before the Skrill had its way.

Venny watched as the eldery grouch run to the trees and watched them set on fire one by one. Either the old fart was made of fire or plain bad luck, or that dragon wanted them to stick around for dinner. "I'm taking a wild guess here but I think the trees are on fire," Venny shouted as she tried to find a way out.
It was impossible now, they were now in a complete circle of trees. Who knew the wooden nature part was so more fearful when they're on fire. Camo looked up and saw that the place with no fire was up, of course he didn't want to pick up Ari as well. Of course it would miss the opportunity to brag to the other dragons. Camo kept his camouflage on, but he did pointed his tail (which was now his usual orange scaled skin) up to pass on the idea to Ari and Venny.
If that wasn't enough, the dragon returned to his original scale color and stood up. Avoiding all contact with the burning trees that were on fire, Camo managed to get over to Ari. Venny already saw what her dragon was thinking, "He said we can fly out of this mess," Venny explained over the cracking of the fire. "Whenever your finished setting the forest on fire, you're welcome to fly with us."

He heard the Viking in training shout at him, to which he just turned to her in shock that she had said such a stupidly obvious thing. “Well done,” you braindead child, realising she honestly thought the elder was dumb enough not to have figured that out, “Now you’ve made that clever deduction, how about you an-“
He was in mid-sentence when the Viking in training started to blurt out how he was causing the fire and they’d take him out. Ari really wanted to beat this brat there and then, but he knew he couldn’t since she and her dragon were his only ride to safety.
He then saw the orange changewing in front of him and nodded before getting on the dragon, “If you’d let me finish I was going to say just that,” you excuse for life! “Now get on here yourself and let’s get out of here!”
He waited for the reactions of the other two and looked up in the dark sky, he could just see the silluette of the Skrill above them, obviously waiting for something. They were surrounded right now by flames it would be so easly for the dragon to come down. But then again, it’d have to fight inside that ring of fire…maybe it wanted us to be up in the air. All Ari knew was that they had to go up there regardless of whether the monster wanted them there or not.

Venny could tell Ari disliked being interrupted, she shrugged off the comment of being too hasty, then again this place was on fire. That and she had to kept her mood somewhat positive about the situation at hand. She was being sarcastic and more or less being what she was doing, being annoying. Venny properly hopped on Camo, and positioned herself to hold on. "Well nothing wrong with hurrying it up. And I think we should since there's fire everywhere," Venny replied as she looked up in the sky. Camo did the same and cringed at the thought of getting burnt, he shook his head of the thought and prepared to flap his wings. "Warning, me and Camo here fly pretty fast, don't blame me if you fall off," the viking warned as Camo got off the ground, Camo's antenna whacked Venny on the head for being rude. "Ouch! Okay fine we'll catch you if such a thing were to happen!" Venny added as she rubbed the area where Camo attacked her.
Camo gave a snort of satisfaction and took off into the sky, it wasn't too fast or slow, simply because he didn't want Ari to fall off. Venny wasn't very happy with the speed but she went along with it, she kept her eye of the shadow of the dragon before them. They were just a few feet above the fire, they both refused to look down. While Venny took control of being on watch, Camo was focused on where he flew.

Ari glared at Venny as she talked, she really didn’t realise how stupid she sounded. What’s wrong with the kids these days? As the changewing was about to take off, Venny commented about how she didn’t take responsibility if he fell off. The girl had no idea how much the healer was holding back hitting her. He did smile when the dragon hit her for the line and she retracted the statement. Camo took to the air and flew at a good speed, though Ari knew it wasn’t going to be fast enough. He knew the dragon was doing it for his benefit (or atleast he assumed that since Venny didn’t seem happy with it), but he knew enough about Skrills to know this speed would do it. He looked up at the shadow above them as it moved. Lightning went off again and the dragon seemed like it was being struck. But it was a Skrill after all. It was now fully light by the static going around it and it seemed to just be flying over them. What was it up to? Why hadn’t it attacked them yet? It had been so hell bent on them a minute ago. And then it dived. (Wasn’t quite sure what to do with it, and since I don’t control Camo I’ll leave what the Skrill and Camo do to you. Enjoy writing an aerial combat/chase/whatever you make of it. )

"Camo, go!" Venny ordered just at the right moment where the Skrill dived. The Changewing looked up with his yellow eyes and raised his wings with a quick beat, having himself to jolt away from the dive. Venny kept a hold of her helmet as Camo flew away from the Skrill, the tamed dragon twisted his body to face toward the enemy. And amazingly Venny knew why, they couldn't escape with them being struck with lightning. The Skrill gave a roar as it struck a bolt of lightning near them, the viking shivered at the intensity as she kept her eye on the Skrill.
With another beat of Camo's wing, he dived under the Skrill while Venny sorted out the situation. "Okay, lightning, fire," Venny listed in a mumble as she looked around. After a few moments of dodging the bolts the Skrill had shot, a few had almost hit the team, but due to the duo practicing their stunts and such, dogding was a piece of cake. Soon Venny had noticed another clear area where more larger trees stood. It was tangled enough to lose the Skrill in, and enough to fly through it. "Hey! Catch us if you can!" Venny yelled as she gestured Camo to the tangled area. The dragon nodded and faced the direction of the branches, the viking turned her attention on Ari. "So, you might want to duck and hold on tight," Venny stated as Camo dived from the air toward the trees. The Skrill followed suit.
The Changewing folded his wings to his sides as he squeezed through the branches, sure they scratched against his scales but he had felt worse. The Skrill had roared in pain as it struggled to get past the branches. It had set them on fire, but it was far from Venny and Camo.

Ari clutched on as everything happened, doing so even tighter as they started to fly towards the Skrill. He had to admit they were all relatively decent at dodging and areal fighting. Ari glared as the girl started calling out to the Skrill and then flew into the trees. What? Like I already had been?
They then flew to a small gap between the trees which Ari didn’t think they could get through. And then they did. He heard the smash behind them, and turned back to see the Skrill stuck in the trees before getting temporally blinded by the dragon’s explosion of a discharge.
The finally landed near the village and Ari quickly got off the dragon. He was stunned that the little thing had been able to carry them both. He leaned on his staff and was glad he hadn’t lost it in the flying. He looked at the two of them for a bit before asking, “What’s the changewing’s name?” When the dragon’s name was said he smiled slightly.
“Thank you Camo,” he called out as he turned away from them and started walking towards the village again, they were basically in it so now he could easily get home and get dry. (If Venny protests at not being thanked he calls back, “I am, by not punishing you for how you’ve been today. Get home kid, your parents won’t you getting pneumonia or something.” If she doesn’t ignore that last part.)

The dynamic duo had landed near the village they call home. Camo landed softly and let the elder get off. The weight that had disappeared made the Changewing more relaxed, Venny hopped off as well. "Great job, Camo," she said as if she repeated it over and over again. The viking gave him a pat on the head which was always a reward of its own. The dragon cracked a smile, as soon as Ari asked Venny for his name, Ven had replied immediately. "Camo, his name is Camo."
After she replied Venny had went off searched around the changewing's scale for any injuries, luckily there were only scratches. When the viking had noticed that Ari was leaving, she realized she only thanked Camo and not her! "H-hey! Wait up! You didn't- I- Hey!" She was unable to shout out in protest to thank her as well. Apparently Ari had gotten the message and told her about something about parents and some cold sickness thing. Venny scoffed at his reply and stomped away, Camo followed suit to the sneezing viking whom he called his rider. 'That was a nice day,' he purred.
