The Sun's rays beat down on Berk. But the heat didn't quite make it all the way. It was always like that on Berk. It was a cool day, Warmer then avarage. But Winter was around the corner and then of corse the extension on winter. Devastating winter, destructive, anything bad before winter would probably fit that criteria. But aside from the point.
A small group of people from the village were walking togather into the open, snowy plains of the mountians. Yes, theres snow here. There has always been snow here. It's not going anywhere any time soon. The group was made up of Curtis, Luna, Ulrika, and Redathin. Along with any dragons they may of brought with them.
Curtis walked along side Luna and looked back at Ulrika and Redathin. "Holding up back there?" He said to them smirking abit. Silvia ran ahead of them all and jumped into a snow bank. The mound of snow moved until it stopped. Silvia had completly disappered before a pair of Violet eyes opened in the snow bank. She jumped out of the snow and of corse ran around like an idiot.
Curtis just watched Silvia run around in the snow. Clearly she enjoyed being out in a large, open area thats not either covered in buildings or trees. Two of the places Curtis is usally at with his dragons. Curtis left at Slity because they had flown for a long time yesterday and Slity seemed quite tired out, so he stayed home.
Silvia slowed down and came up beside Ulrika and sniffed her as she walked behind her. Silvia looked at Ulrika then over to Redathin before jogging up to Curtis' side and walking beside him.
Curtis looked around the flat area seeing pop ups in the mountians sides where bare rock faces stood against the elements.
"Hmm. Anyone have any ideas what to look for while were up here?" Curtis said

Ulrika marched through the deep snow. Up here in the mountains, there was snow that never melted. She had a huge stupid grin on her face. She had convinced several villagers to take her up here to find dragons. It was miraculous that they agreed - most Vikings wouldn't dare, and they'd be right in doing so. Ulrika was a walking deathtrap in the wild.
She had the dragon healer, her boyfriend and some other random man she didn't really know well. It was a decent team. They also had their dragons with them. Maybe she won't have to outrun an angry dragon with these.
How could she outrun a dragon here, anyway? The snow was so deep she had enough trouble walking. So used to being quick and light on her feet, she was quickly lagging behind.
Ulrika ignored Curtis' call, who was now leading the group. She was distracted by Silvia, Curtis' dragon, who was bounding about them energetically. She looked like a White Night Fury. Recent events had made it that Ulrika didn't really desire a Night Fury anymore. She wouldn't want a White Fear either.
Speaking of the devil, it soon bounded up to the girl, sniffing her. At least she could get a closer look. Maybe there would be something different to a Night Fury, aside the colour difference. She frowned, sticking her tongue out at the dragon. "You're still as ugly." She confirmed out loud.
The steep climb levelled out slightly, and Curtis began to suggest something to find. Ulrika gasped, stretching her arms wide in exaggeration.
"We have to find a Monstrous Nightmare for me to tame! They're soo cool! Or a Skrill! Yeahh! Or maybe a..." Ulrika continued on for a while, listing various dragon species that she deemed as 'cool' and 'awesome.

"Well I have been here before. The best thing to see is when you climb the mountain even a little and watch the sunset or sunrise." Ulrika burst into her seemingly endless speech about what dragons she wanted to see. Most of which, to Redathin's knowledge, didn't inhabit this area.
Redathin ignored Ulrika, 'Is she always this noisy. Any wildlife we could see is going to get scared off by her.' He shook his head. He'd come on the trip because he had nothing better to do, but if she was going to talk the whole time then the trip was practically meaningless. Nothing would come near the group when Ulrika was blabbing so loud. She practically spoke as loud as the rest of the group combined.
Redathin tried to think of a reason for Ulrika to stop taking, but every one he came up with sounded odd or rude. He finally gave up and let his instincts guide him. "Hey, you know if you want a chance at seeing any dragons at all, you might want to be a little more quite." He hoped he acted appropriately. Especially since he didn't quite know Ulrika. 'Stupid mistake. She might freakout and try to beat me up, or she'll get all emotional.'

~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ [/color][/SIZe] I HAD A WAY THEN [/COLOR] LOSING IT ALL ON MY OWN[/center][/b][/i] Luna wrapped her sweater tighter around her shoulders. It was cold up on the mountain, there was always snow up here. She clung to Ayer's warm back, the fire in his belly emenated a soft, comforting heat. She could sense the feeling of unease coming from him, and he could probably say the same of her. Neither of them liked being up high, but Luna was trying to make the best of it, riding atop her dragon with her eyes shut tightly, unfortunatly Ayer's sparatic complaints didn't help.
[white]"Tell me again why we have to be up here?"[/white] [red]"Well I couln't very well let Ulrika come up here by herself! She'd end up getting killed."[/red] [white]"She's a nuisance, it would serve her right"[/white] [red]"Don't say things like that! She's a Berkite, just like us."[/red] [white]"Neither of us are Berkites."[/white] [red]"Ugh! You know what I mean- Just stop. I don't like being up here any more than you do![/red] [white]"It's cold."[/white] [red]"You're how old and you've never been cold?"[/red] [white]"I'm 1,709. And of course I've been cold before! I like the cold."[/white] [red]"Then why were you complaining?"[/red] [white]"I wasn't. I was just... commenting."[/white] [red]"Well stop commenting."[/red]
With a [white]humph[/white] Ayer finally fell silent. Luna reached up and gave him a scratch behind his big ears. He gave a purr, indicating that he wan't really upset at her.
Luna realized one of the others may have heard the line about neither of them being Berkites. It didn't matter so much that Ayer was, but with her... it was differnent. She knew Curtis didn't speak dragonese, and it wouldn't matter even if he did, and she was fairly sure Ulrika didn't either. Redathin... well she didn't know about him, so she would have to hope he couln't overhear the conversation with her dragon.
Beside her, she could hear as Curtis trudged with Silvia bouncing along behind. When Curtis spoke a question, Luna squinted her eyes open and looked down at him [red]"I'm doing... okay. You can ride with me on Ayer if you want."[/red] she said before shutting he eyes again, not caring to see where they were. She didn't want to make a fool of herself in front of Ulrika and Redathin.
A few minutes passed before Curtis spoke again, this time asking what to do. Redathin began to make a suggestion before Ulrika loudly inturrupted and began rambling on about all kinds of dragons that she wanted to find and tame, most of them being extreamly rare or unlikely to be found on a mountain or both.
Ayer commented [white]"See? She's stupid too."[/white] [red]"I told you to stop saying stuff like that."[/red] [white]"But it's true"[/white] [red]"I never said it wasn't true. I told you to stop talking about it."[/red] [white]"fine..."[/white]
Finally Redathin suggested that Ulrika keep quiet, and suprisongly, she listened, everyone seemed grateful. It was quiet, and Luna still refused to open her eyes, so as far as she knew, nothing was happening now. The quiet was welcome, so she waited without a word for something to happen, wondering when they would arrive to a destination. Curtis smiled at Luna when she offered for Curtis to ride of Ayer with her. He shook hide head abit.
"I'm good, I'd rather let you collect the heat from Ayer instead if me. Either way, I'm warm enough and I'm good to walk. Thanks for asking though." He smiled at her and mouthed the words 'I love you' to her.
Silvia ran up the a part of the mountian then back down to Curtis and nudged him.
"I agree with you. Ulrikas kinda stupid. She just called me ugly too.. So she's not exactly in my good books."
Curtis listened to Silvia. He wasn't able to speak proper dragoneese but he could understand some of it. And he caught most of the words Silvia said.
"I kinda agree with you Silvia. She would be gone by now if she wasn't with anyone." Curtis didn't make it Apparent to whom he was talking about. He tried not to Aswell because he was speaking English infront of them.
"She would be! And I WOULD LOVE to just fly off with her and drop her in a pile of snow half way down the slope!" "Clearly you and Slity have much different tolerances to people's who may not act.. The smartest." "No duh, Slitys a guy. Guys have higher tolerances." "I'm a guy, and I don't have a very high tolerance for people that don't act the smartest."
"Yea but your a human. Humans seem to get annoyed easily."
Curtis rolled his eyes abit and laughed. "Still."
---------- Note: that convo, Curtis was talking in English so yea xD again he can understand, not speak. ---------
Curtis kept walking along and saw a cave entrance up ahead. He looked at it and looks to the dragons. They didn't seem too concerned about it, it must be Un ihabited. Curtis led the group to the cave entrance and looked inside.
"We need light. And Silvia Dosnt have fire.. So."

Redathin cut through her ramblings, telling her to be quiet. She frowned at him. In a sense, she was right. Ulrika was a hunter after all. She knew if she made noise the game would be frightened and scatter. But dragons weren't game. The dragons on her 'cool' list weren't the sort that'd get spooked by the slightest noise.
With a huff she folded her arms and turned the other way, continuing to romp ahead. Despite her ramble being ceased, she could hear grumbles behind her as dragons spoke with their humans. The huge dragon Luna had didn't hold any particular interest to Ulrika - it couldn't fly, after all.
Suddenly Curtis began to speak up again, obviously in response to his dragon. She sighed again as she realised he and the dragon were talking about her. She didn't turn around just yet, they were still conversing. An obvious look of unhappiness was spreading over her face.
The keyword 'not the smartest' instantly pulled the trigger. She finally turned around with a scowl on her face.
"I'm NOT stupid!" She yelled at them. She was always fed up when people kept insulting her. She had enough trouble with Grima as it was, she didn't need other people to chip in too. "I bet if you didn't have your stupid dragons with you, you'd have no chance against wild angry dragons! But I do! Because I'm better than you! I could totally beat you up if I wanted." She taunted defiantly, adding on to her rant at the end, hoping to sound tough. With her reputation, it wasn't easy to be taken seriously.
They ended up at the huge mouth of a cavern. It was slightly eerie, encased in snow, with jagged icicles hanging from it's ceiling. Curtis suggested flame, to which he added a fault of of the White Fears.
Ulrika had her arms folded, still brooding over Curtis' words. "At least a Night Fury actually has fire..." She grumbled. "If Darky was here, she'd totally light the place up for you!" She said hopefully. She turned around to look at the view. There wasn't much of one, as most of the land around these parts were buried in snow. There was no dragon to be seen. She frowned.

The arguing between Ulrika, Curtis, and Luna was starting to really annoy Redathin. Ulrika was making such a racket that people could probably hear her all the way back at the village. She was the first person he had met that truly had a problem with the volume of her voice. Redathin sighed, any hope of seeing some cool or rare dragons had left him and was now replaced with a longing to get away from the argument.
"Guys, stop it. This argument is going nowhere and it's going to cause more harm than good." No one seemed to listen to him, so he lit a torch and started into the cave to try and put some distance between the others and himself. He didn't want to get pulled into their pointless argument and figured it would be better to wait it out than to try to stop it.
Redathin pulled out his knife and started making marks so he'd know where the entrance was. "This place is amazing. I wonder what made this." He couldn't tell wether the others were behind him or not, but he didn't care. He wanted to know where the cavern led and if there was anything exciting at the end. He marched on with a new found feeling of adventure.
