WEATHER CONDITIONS : Sunny
CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Hysterian NPCs
PREVIOUS THREADS ? Lunacy...derp
Baldr smiled as he saw the port of the capital village on Hysteria, his home. He smiled as the boat he was on started to come in. It fell slightly when he saw the man standing on the platform of the port. The man looked out at them, and the two locked eyes.
“Dad!” Baldr looked up and saw a boy running down the pier towards where he would dock. His face gleamed when he saw who it was.
“Fyklir!” Ignoring the fact they hadn’t stopped yet, he ran forwards an jumped, landing on the landing. He knelt down and grabbed his boy when he got to him, “how’s my son?” he heard a cough. Looking up he saw the man just staring at him, “I think you should go back to the house, I’ll be home in about half an hour.”
“Okay dad,” Fyklir said, he then walked away as Baldr stood up. Baldr started to walk along the peir behind his boy, to go past the man.
“Good day,” he muttered.
“How’d it go?”
“How do you think?” Baldr snapped back, quietly enough so his boy couldn’t hear as he had already gotten to land. He turned and looked out at the “a fool’s errands gives up what we expected. Nothing! Minus about a third of the men sent!”
“We couldn’t know it’s a fool’s errand, Berk is the most likely place for her to be if not on the island...”
“Don’t give me that!” Baldr turned on him now, with an angry look on his face, “we don’t even know she’s alive, let alone in a foreign land being held captive! For all we know she’s in a shallow grave.”
“We still have to look for her,” the man said, defencively, “we can’t just leave the heir when we don’t know she’s dead.”
“Why? What’s the point in having more people killed over someone no one but me even wants to find, to make her do a job no one thinks she’s meant for. It’s pointless. More than that it total...” he paused for a moment, realising what he was about to say. When he spoke again, his voice was calm, “Lunacy, total lunacy. Now if you don’t mind I have a report to give.” And with that he turned away from the man and walked off to Hrothgar’s place.
He quietly moved into the hut, but Hrothgar heard him. He smiled at his uncle, it was a fake smile, but he knew he had to. “How was it, Baldr, did it go as expected?” Baldr knelt by his bed, the leader was very obviously at deaths door just by looking at him.
Baldr pulled out the knife and showed it to him, “No, it went better.” Hrothgar started to chuckle before a coughing fit kicked in. Baldr had to hold himself back from hitting the monster in front of him, ill or not. He was actually found the idea of Ashaere being dead funny. He found that so...so...evil.
But he didn’t do anything, he needn’t. He was getting is punishment now, and he’d get his punishment more in Hel. The world had changed all those years ago, in a way that meant we could never go back. But this monster decided to use the betrayal as a reason to try and push us back 300 years. He deserved the pain he was in, and he wasn’t going to lessen it by killing him now. Baldr was going to fix what Hrothgar had done to Hysteria...he would make Hysteria a strong island again. And one without Luna.
(OOC: Could not resist the title dump. Lunacy is now finished, although I think it should stay in here until the other three posts are done.)
