DATE & TIME : September 13th WEATHER CONDITIONS : Foggy CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Camo, Meko, (basically it's open) PREVIOUS THREADS ? N/A
The forest was unusually damp, then again it was a foggy morning. That didn't stop the Changewing from roaming around, in search of prey to snack on. So far, nothing came up edible except for a few berries. The sweet taste had kept him going along, sliding through the trees and crawling over logs and rocks in a swift and smooth action. Camo made sure not to make any major sounds rather than the crunches of leaves he stepped on. Deciding that the fog wasn't going to lift up and expose the food, Camo groaned in annoyance as he climbed up a nearby tree. A few snaps were made, but nothing too loud.
Resting upon a sturdy branch from the tree, the Changewing did what their species does best: camouflage. His antennas served as other branches whist his tail looked like some vine that hung off the branch he was on. Surely no prey could see him, and hopefully no pesky humans or other dragons would bother him as well.

Such a moist, heavy feeling in the air... A strange darkness hanging through out the trees like haunting shadows. Not that the little dragon cared...
Meko, a female Changewing had awoken form a deep slumber. A little drool across her chin form her delicious dream about honeycomb. Ooooooh she did love honeycomb so much. Pulling herself from her hiding place under a rock, the hatchling stretched out her wings a little before shaking her head from side to side to wake herself up. She was rather small, five foot in length. Most of that size was due to her neck and tail. In fact she was around the right size to be able to sit on a Vikings shoulders if she so chose to. Even if she was getting just a little bit to big for that now. But then not like she ever wanted to... The only time the wild dragon had ever been on a humans shoulders was when her curiosity made her act with out thinking.
Meko padded her paw like feet against the ground, leaving a few claw marks in the soft earth before she started to ponder across the forest floor. She was hungry.... The idea of honeycomb still fresh in her mind. Perhaps she could find some somewhere... Sliding across the ground effortlessly Meko travelled past the tree Camo was hiding in. Not noticing the other Changewing. And with the way the wind was, she could not pick up his scent.
Suddenly there was a croak as a frog jumped out from under a leaf. Meko's eyes went wide and she moved into a stalking stance. Her scales imitating the color of the frog as she started to follow it. Each time it jumped her body would bounce slightly in imitation, but she would try to stay as stealthy as possible. Shifting her scales fully to match her surroundings she followed the frog as it moved through some fallen branches. It stopped... This was her chance. She prepared herself.... And then...
Pounce!!!
Meko dove after the frog in an attempt to snap the little amphibian up in her jaws, only for it to jump away at the last moment. Meko huffed angrily then noticed she had not jumped all the way. What had stopped her?... She looked around then noticed she had jumped through some of the branches and got herself stuck! Squeaking out loudly the little dragon squirmed for freedom. Spitting acid out at random to try and hit the surrounding branches caging her. Damn it! This always happened! Why didn't she look before jumping?!... Perhaps because she didn't have the attention span to notice things like that. Especially if she was side tracked by hopping frog and a growling belly.

The Changewing on the branch had released a breath of boredom as his antennas perked up to the sounds of someone walking underneath him. The misty air had prevented him to catch the scent, that and he didn't lean his head over in to the side in time to see who slid past him. His tail curled in interest as Camo used his front claws to lift himself up, having the branch creak from the push. He let his lower half of his body keep resting as Camo narrowed his eyes throw the mist to see if the other was still visible in his sight. Perhaps it's some wild hog, it would be a nice lunch if it were.
There was a croak of some frog, wasn't exactly his favorite food, they tasted tangy to him. Camo stuck his tongue out, remembering the taste that came from a frog, never again. Slipping his tongue back in, he stood by to see what other sounds came up. Knowing what was happening in the area was a important step in hunting, usually. It was either hunting or sneaking away from the village of Berk whenever the vikings got out of hand.
From what it sounded like, someone was low on the forest floor, and a frog was hopping about. And the other was hopping along too? It felt more like bouncing. Strange, vikings don't bounce and follow frogs at the same time. Perhaps this was a rabbit he was dealing with. Well rabbits were a nice snack, small but well worth it. It would actually cure the growling that his stomach was making. Sliding out of the tree that he was previously laying in, he made his way toward the sounds of crackling branches? That was unusual, branches usually didn't make sounds.
The Changewings lured closer, discovering one of his kind. Blinking in confusion, he looked down at the other. "You're not a rabbit."

Meko growled in anger as she squirmed against the brances trapping her. Letting out a few squeak like sounds. But then a scent caught her nose and a voice in the air. She turned her head best she could to see another Changewing. Flicking her tail out a little she tried to wrap it around him to use him as leverage to pull herself free. "No i'm not a rabbit!" She snapped angrily with a growl rumbling in her throat. Her tail unable to latch onto anything but a few more branches that toppled over and trapped her tail beneath them. Meko let out a small squeak of pain and squirmed more. Her scales flashing at random from there usual vibrant orange to brown, to green before she gave up and lead there limply in the branches of the tree.
After a moment she looked back at Camo and snorted to him. "I'm stuck." She stated the obvious. "Could ya get me outta this mess? I need food." Her stomach was already growling. It had been since she woke up after that dream about honeycomb. Mmmmmmm now she was making herself even more hungry! Damn it.
Licking her maw a little Meko made another attempt to get free. Managing to slide her body back a little before her head got stuck on another branch. She started to growl a little, spitting some acid out in front of her. But with the way she was stuck she could hardly use her acid to get free. Least to say at the moment she felt very foolish and vunrable. Not to mention embarrassed, especially with another Changewing behind her. "Please.... Help?..." She begged a little. Clawing the branches around her still.

Camo watched as the other had struggled to to free herself, however said plan had failed. It looked like more branches had toppled on top of her, it was a amusing sight, but it sure looked painful. Camo waited until she stopped wiggling around so that he didn't get hurt being near her. Then again, he preferred his distance far away from other dragons along with humans. Avoid them while he can, although he usually answers calls to his name.
His attention was back onto Meko as she stated the obvious. The Changewing nodded with a sarcastic hint to it. He heard the grow from her stomach, she wasn't kidding, she needed food. Giving a quick look around, making sure no one caught him doing the act of kindness, he gave a quick shrug. "Yeah yeah, sure," Camo said as he lured closer. However she kept moving again and the whole thing gotten worse. He shook his head with annoyance as he observed the situation. Puzzles were the worst.
Finally getting a positive chance, Camo began to lift some of the smaller branches with his jaws that were around her. Soon not much was left, Camo spat out some of the dust that the logs had stuck on to him. "There we go, I don't think I'll be around when you get stuck again so be careful next time," he scoffed.

Meko grumbled as she lead there helplessly. Feeling Camo moving the branches off her. The release was much appreciated to say the least. The feeling of them all crushing and trapping her was getting really old really fast. As finally Camo moved enough branches off her to allow her to slip back out of the branch trap. Meko slowly started to move back, noticing she could she jolted her body back with excitement that she would finally be free. But then... She tripped over some of the branches directly behind her. Rolling over onto her back with a heavy thud with a loud squeak. "Ouch!" she growled out loud before wriggling her body back around so was she able to squirm back up to her feet and shake her body off. A few leaves and bits of grass stuck to her scales from the way she had fallen.
For a moment she stared at Camo. Becoming a little hesitant and jumpy. She was not to used to being around other dragons. Even though she knew a lot of her kind lived in packs. All her life Meko had been a loner. From the very moment she hatched here in the forest, miles away form her mother and siblings on the birth island. But she knew he had helped her... If he wanted to cause her any harm he would of done so by now.
Suddenly, lifting her wings up she flared them out a little with a small growl. Her body sliding into a more defensive stance. It seemed like she was going to attack, but then.... Her eyes became crossed and...
"AHHHH-CHOOO!!!"
Meko sneezed loudly. A splatter of acid flying over Camo's head and burning through a branch above him that soon fell down with a thud onto the ground beside the Changewings. Meko squeaked and jumped aside as the branch fell then shook her head off. The antenna upon her head flipping and flopping all over the place form the vigorous movement of her head. The little female then stretched out her body with a few satisfying clicks before she sat down. Licking her tongue up across her maw before staring at Camo again. "Thank you." She finally thanked him. Losing her sense of caution she moved closer and started to sniff at Camo. Familiarising herself with his scent.
"My name is Meko. Wanna get some food?" She said with a small purr like growl. Her tail curling and snaking around behind her as she lowered her wings against her body. She was sure there must be some honeycomb in the storehouse of the Viking village.

Camo watched as Meko had tumbled backwards once she was free He shook his head with disbelief, hatchlings were so unintelligent, then again, they haven't lived that long. She gotten back up onto her feet, but it appeared that a few blades of grass stuck onto her scales. The feeling of nature clinging to skin was most irritating, and it was bothersome to dust it off with the dew and everything. He blinked to break the awkward staring contest Meko was bringing up.
Meko had assumed the position of a defensive stance, a aggressive looking one. Was this Changewing really going to attack him? If there was something to lift the mood, Camo guessed the incoming bites and acid would only be tingles and nibbles. However, Meko had ruined the intense feeling with the hilarious sneeze that Camo had to stiffen a snicker to.
He ducked as the flying acid flew over his head at a shockingly close rate, however it landed on a branch and burnt it, the result had it fall down with a loud thud beside the Changewings. Meko jumped but he didn't, it was just a branch what was there to be scared about? Perhaps he was already jaded with the island of Berk. The other had begun to soften up to him, which was weird since she previously went all the way to put up a defending pose. Although he did take pride in that late 'thank you' of her's.
The other Changewing had introduced herself as Meko, not that he cared about how names sounded. She asked if he wanted to get some food, not that he was doing that already. He gave a small shrug of defeat. "Sure, why not. I'm um, Camo."
