Normally, Sylvus would be hunting at this time of day and, in fact, she had been hunting not ten minutes ago. Her father had always told her not to leave her kill for a moment, or else she’d lose it, but she’d taken the risk to go after a particularly juicy looking fox. The fuzzy, orange creature had managed to evade her, but when she’d returned to the pile of fish she’d left…It was gone.
The dragon let out a groan. How had she been so stupid? She should have just eaten what she’d caught right away. Maybe whoever had taken it hadn’t eaten it yet though? The dragon lifted her nose to the air and sniffed. The fishy smell was hard to miss, and she was soon following the trail into the forest. There was another scent intermingled with the fish, but she couldn’t quite place it…Odd footprints scattered the ground too…Much smaller than her own and shaped like a bean. She frowned and continued forward, being very quiet just in case the thief was close by.
Sylvus soon found the trail leading her into a part of the forest she did not recognize. This place was filled with scents of different dragons. She started to contemplate whether it was safe to keep going, whether it was worth it to keep following the trail…But she wanted her fish back! It wasn’t long before she saw the trees beginning to thin and finally came out into a clearing.
What she saw completely baffled her. Structures made of wood and metal stood in a treeless place. Dragons were all over, dragons of all different species. What was most confusing were the hairless, well, semi-hairless creatures that roamed between the wooden structures. The fish scent lead down there though, and while she figured her quest was now hopeless, what with all of those fish-eating dragons down there, she continued on. The dragon crept forward, moving down the hill and keeping low to the ground and behind shrubbery so she–hopefully–wouldn’t be seen.
