DATE & TIME : September 15th WEATHER CONDITIONS : frosty CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Sven, maybe a sigmundr or two, whoever is saving sven's butt, witnesses welcome PREVIOUS THREADS ? not that i can think of
Sven was hunting for dragons. He scoured through the forest, being careful not to spook any hidden dragons that may be in the vicinty. He had his booklet and charcoal in hand, ready for any encounter. He hopped over a log and into a clearing. The Dragonologist was unaware what he was getting into.
On an island saturated with dragons, the tell-tale signs of dragon activity was everywhere. Sven was oblivious he was walking into a death trap. There was so many signals he had missed the most important one.
Just out of sight, there was a nest. And the mother was not pleased with this intruder.
Sven turned around quickly as he heard growling behind him, making him jump. He saw a serpentine dragon slide from the shadows. He recognised it as a Toxichell, a species he has seen before. He knew them to be an agressive species. He quickly hid his tools and showed himself to be unarmed.
The dragon was not like Night - this dragon was larger, and a deep blue colouration. It was only then that Sven began recognising the signs. Colour drained from his face slightly as he realised why this dragon was being agressive without provocation.
The dragon stared daggers at him. This was a tense situation. A wrong move could mean life or death. A memory flashed of what Night had done to Hermes. The damaged she had sustained was from the fall, her scales protecting her from the brunt of the acid attack. Though Sven had no height to fall from, he had no protection against an acid attack.
He felt awfully alone and defenceless against this dragon. He knew if he moved away, the dragon would get him, and any other little thing would probably set her off too. He allowed himself a short breath. He had to do something.
"I didn't mean to intrude, I-"[/i][/color]
It was the wrong move.

There were multiple reasons why Chad ventured into the Dark Pines of Toothless Forest. As a kid, it was on dares. The ViTs tended to think this was the best place to test the strength of their pupils. After all, you had to be pretty strong and tough to survive a night in here. With barely any room to maneuver around and the trees not allowing any light to hit the floor, the darkness engulfed you. It made every sound amplified where if you spent too many hours in here you could probably go crazy. This was one of the reasons he was in here.
He liked to take the occasional trip in here, to make sure no ViT managed to get themselves lost in the Dark Pines. Nappy was too big to walk in here without bringing attention to them by some other dragon, so Chad was accompanied by Dagger whose grey body almost looked black in this lighting. He sat on Chad’s shoulder sending annoyed glances at the male when he would hit a tree branch. One managed to knock the Terrible Terror off his shoulder. The small dragon hooked its claws into the back of the leather vest Chad wore. ”Dang it Nappy! That’s the tenth time you’ve done this to another vest. I’m pretty sure the girl who mends these is getting tired of it. Pay attention would you?”
Dagger let out a small growl in response. But as he climbed up, an irritated noise caught his ears. He could’ve sworn he heard the growl of a pissed off dragon. He stayed completely still for a moment before jumping off Chad’s shoulder towards the sound. Chad let out an irritated huff before taking off after the little dragon. He always came prepared when he ventured in here. His sword hung on his hip, a shield lay on his back, some ropes went around his body, and a bow and couple arrows were strapped across his body as well. Basically he was prepared for almost everything.
Chad halted his run when he saw Dagger land on the branch of a tree and creep about until the little dragons could see through the needles. When Chad peeked through, his eyes widened. Sven was facing a Toxichell, an extremely mad one at that. Chad took in the scene more before he reacted. He could see what looked like a nest behind the dragon. Seeing that Sven was unarmed Chad knew he had to act fast. But he paused, Sven had started speaking in Dragonese. He heard only a few words before the dragon lunged.
Chad burst through the treeline behind Sven. He couldn’t kill the dragon, it had eggs to protect and he had a thing against killing dragons, even in bad situations. He lifted the shield off his back and slid it onto his arm as he stepped around Sven and held it out. At least the toxic the dragon spewed wouldn’t hit them. But his shield would only last for a couple seconds if it did. The toxic would disintegrate the wood. With a sharp whistle, Dagger flew out of the tree towards the other dragon. He flapped his wings and made patterns in front of the dragons face to distract it. As the dragon turned to look at the annoying Terrible Terror, Chad gave Sven a light shove back. ”Go! Run! Dagger will try to keep him busy for as long as he can!” He looked back at his Terrible Terror, wondering how long the Toxichell would be distracted by the smaller reptile.

The dragon fired acid at the human, but as Sven shielded himself with but an arm, Chad came to the rescue and shielded them both. The young man was surprised to suddenly see him by his side, and also alarmed.
He didn't say anything, there was no time to chad. The acid was beginning to melt through the shield, and the dragon stopped it's attack. It hesitated slightly in confusion at the second man, but it just meant that the threat was stronger. Before the men had a chance to run, the dragon went for it's current target again, striking like a snake into Sven.
Sven gave a short yelp as the dragon grabbed him in the side, but it was cut off as the beast violently shook him before he flew, crashing into a nearby tree and falling to the floor, unconscious.
Up above, Hermes circled idly. She could hear the usual commotion when Sven would bump into a dragon, but the human could handle himself, and he had proven that to her plenty of times, so she could trust him.
But then she heard the yelp and the growls of a certain species of dragon that, because of recent events, she loves to hate. Her stomach lurched - Sven was in trouble! She dived down towards the sea of green.
The dragon ignored Chad, heading to finally finish off the pesky intruder, once and for all. But then a piercing shriek cried overhead, which caused the dragon to snap it's head to the heavens in alarm. Rustling through the canopy alerted Hermes' presence, but her fury meant the Toxichell couldn't anticipate her somewhat brutal strike, diving straight down into the dragon's long neck.
It turned into an outright dragon fight there and then. The dragon rolled over one another, thrashing and slashing at each other. Though the Toxichell had acid, Hermes had learnt the hard way to avoid it at all costs, and struck with her sharp-scaled wings at the beast, who, instead of scales for armour, had very small, soft feathers.
The fight didn't last long. Hermes was in a blind rage and soon the dragon had been overpowered. This is why an Ambassador's possessiveness is a dangerous thing. She made sure the dragon was dead and was definitely not going to come back, before leaping over to Sven's unmoving body.
She nudged him several times. he didn't look too hurt… Until she rolled him over, and she could see the damage done. Her scaled remained puffed up, anxious, angry and afraid. She heard the other human behind him and in an aggressive stance, stood over his body, just like in the lesson where she had to guard a chest. Even Sven had difficulty calling off the dragon.
But this time Hermes was smart and there was a serious objective at hand. She wasn't sure if Sven was alive or dead, though he was still bleeding, so his heard must still be pumping. She knew that humans had the power to heal, and there was no way she was going to get Sven to safety by herself. She felt torn between what she knew and how she felt.
She gave a rough hiss in dragonese, "Can you help him? Or else." She didn't know he couldn't speak her tongue, but she expected and answer and she wasn't going to let him anywhere near Sven's broken body until she got a positive one.
OOC; Oh yeah I think I'm going to make Ambies into Wyverns instead...

As the acid hit the shield, it was only moments before it started disintegrating. Before the possibility of the acid hitting his arm, Chad shook the shield off his arm where it clanged to the ground and continued to disintegrate. Before he could react further, the dragon lurched forward and grabbed Sven. Chad called out but the dragon ignored him as it flung Sven into a tree. As Chad looked over, he could see his chest rising and falling very slowly, and that the dragonologist wasn’t moving. Well that was great.
As a piercing scream was heard, Chad’s eyes left the Toxichell and looked up to see Hermes crashing through the canopy. From there things got violent. In the back of his mind, Chad knew that he should be getting over to Sven, but he couldn’t take his eyes off the two dragons. A couple times, he had to rush backwards as to not get hit by a stray wing or clawed foot. It didn’t seem to last long, and as it ended it was obvious that the victor was Sven’s ambassador. Chad had to admit that it was a beautiful dragon. But, it was so deadly.
Then again, when wasn’t a dragon deadly as it had to defend its rider. It was then that Dagger flew from where he had hid in a tree to Chad’s shoulders. Chad jumped slightly thinking it was something else and gave a shallow chuckle that wasn’t filled with humor in the slightest. At this time he turned to look at Sven, and when he did Hermes was standing over him and viewing him as the next target. Chad held up his hands showing that he meant no ill towards the dragon.
It seemed to pause a moment before hissing at him. Chad glanced at Sven and then the dragon. He couldn’t understand it, and this was when he wished he had been paying more attention to his dragons and finally figuring out dragonese. He had studied a bit, but not enough. ”Look, I want to help him. Let me help him.” His voice held a worry for Sven. He didn’t know how long the young man had before all was lost.
Dagger seemed to understand that this was a bad situation. Letting out an annoyed huff at Chad he spoke out to the dragon. ”He doesn’t know dragonese. But he is good. He will help. Sven and he drank with Kenna after the war. They know each other and Chad won’t hurt him.” [/b] Both dragon and human looked at Hermes waiting to see what she would do.[/blockquote]

Hermes glared at both the human and the dragon before her. Still at odds of what to do. The terrible terror defended his master. Unblinking, she drank in the information, calculating a solution. This human was the only way Sven was going to be safe.
She crouched slightly, as if to pounce, but then, she dipped her head ever so slightly, in a reluctant submission, and stepped away from Sven's body. She could see her human on the floor, crippled.
She tensed, her scales rattling as she watched Chad come forwards. She wanted to attack him, but what benefit would it have. She continued to glare, fearful for Sven and angry at the trespassing that had to be done.
"If he dies. I will kill you." She hissed at them, back arched.
She realised, that the human on foot wouldn't get Sven to safety anytime soon. She rattled another hiss in annoyance. Obviously he couldn't ride the terrible terror. Hermes could fly for two, but with Sven unconscious and a gaping hole in his body, she was unsure. But he needed help and there were very few options.
She shook herself, sending a ripple down her body. She needed her scales flattened if Chad was going to mount her with Sven. She lowered herself, presenting the saddle she was wearing, ready for the humans.

It had been a few months since Ethel had been released as a new warrior of Berk; and the past week was filled with patrolling the borders of the island and the heart of it.
Perched upon her partner, was the big Fell Beast 'Leroy', a dark grey skinned wyvern-like beast and massive wings and the foul stench that could be smelt for miles on end. His appearance in the sky would look like the start of a dark fog rolling in.
The two had been flying over the treetops of 'Toothless Forest', They liked this area, it was a good place for practice battles with the trunks of trees and target shooting when Ethel had the time to do so. But it was a bit more; she enjoyed the darkness of the place at night to mid-day, how even there they could bump into anything from a dragon, viking or a strange environmental object, such as rocks that were oddly shaped.
Ethel, upon the haunches of her mount, could hear the distant hissing of a dragon fight occurring to the east of them, in the heavier parts of Toothless Forest. Tapping Leroy on the right shoulder; the Fell Beast lightly changed his wing cource to the east near the fight. They didn't make it in time to stop the fight as the sounds died down, but faint hissing was heard every so often.
Coming upon the scene, Ethel could see two young males with a Terrible Terror and a Ambassador crouching it's back and intensively looking at the one male who was knelt over the other on the ground. "Leroy stay calm..were going in for a landing." The Fell Beast snorted out a thick black breath as if complaining to her; but followed suit and stretched his long sharp talons to land beside the group on the ground.
"May I ask what happened here?I heard a fight not to long off and fear I've missed it? What's wrong with the lad there?"Ethel ordered as she stayed on her mount. Leroy in the other-case, arched his neck and gave a light curling of his lips in disapproval. He didn't enjoy other dragons but he had no choice but to put up with it. and to the fact that his wings were to large to land on the ground, getting tangled in the denceness of the forest and occasionally getting his wing claws stuck.
