Date: October 13 Weather: chilly, misty looks like it may rain soon. The ground is a bit frosty. Time: around noon Saxi sighed and leaned back on the stone wall to the arena. The fog from his breath puffing from his mouth like smoke. Sub-zero laid at rest by his side, wings folded up as he lifted his head. "you sure your up for this? Another year of recovery may do you some good." Sub-zero asked, concerned. Saxi gave a cold glace to the side, his onyx eyes dull and bored. He pryed his eyes off Sub-zero and back to the doors, waiting on his students. "Im alright. ive made a full recover. Ill be okay." He ensured, keeping his demeanor cold. Then gave a small, rare smirk. "care for a dance while we wait?" he asked the dragon, knowing he could never resist. The dragon's head lifted from the stone floor and sharply swivled to his master. A moment passed before he grinned. "your on." he stood at the middle of the arena. Subzero taking the first strike. The Galewing went to thrust forward with his horns but Saxi, being the lithe figure he was, dodged with with a single turn to the side. He was now standing behind the dragon's head and beside it's long neck. He raised an elbow and went to slam it down on the back of his head, but was stoped as Sub-zero lifted a wing, catchibg his arm and stopping the blow. Saxi gave a smile, looks like he wasnt falling for that old trick again. He felt Sub-zero's wing shift ever-so slightly, a tell tale sighn of an oncoming attack. He jumped back as his wing came down and his head slung around, sending shards of ice at him. Saxi landed about five feet away, the ice steaking into the ground in a perfect trail of were saxi's body was moments before. He backed up as the Galewing continued thrashing with his wings and jaws. Saxi managed to dodge them all untill he slipped on his bad ankle. He looked up to see Sub-zero's enormous horns comming at a rate that was too quick to dodge. He quickly crossed his arms to gaurd his chest. The impact was rough and and slammed back i to the wall hard. Sub-zero went to slam again but saxi jumoed away and the dragon's head slammed to the stone, his horns getting stuck in the wall. Saxi panted, turned to see his dragon stuck to the wall by his horns, struggling to pull them loose.Saxi chuckled, patting his dragon's shoulder. "looks like I win..." he began to work on helping Sub-zero pull his head loose. "alright. Count of three...three." the two pulled at the same time, the galewings crown of horns pulling loos as Saxi stroked Sub-zero's nose... "sorry." Saxi muttered. When were the VITs going to get here anyway.

Meanwhile, Ulrika was flying with Timber. Both of them were starting to realise they were more in tune whilst flying than anywhere else. Ulrika's feral instincts were almost a bonus here, feeling the beast moving it's powerful muscles beneath her, feeling the dragon twist this way and that, and reacting accordingly. The adrenaline rush that flying gave kept her primitive feelings intact, but up here with the clouds, there was nothing to provoke a berserker's fury.
Timber dived, Ulrika flattening herself against the saddle. The Night Fury below her began to slalom easily through some rock formations that dotted the Berk coastline. After that Timber gained some altitude again, and the Village was in sight.
They flew on over, and they both saw the arena, where a large black dragon was. She recognised the dragon from a villager, but they were so high up she couldn't really see the man through the chains and bars. She remembered they were supposed to be having a new teacher today.
They circled on over head, lowering until they swooped down into the arena, Ulrika ducking her head and letting Timber do the work. She landed and dismounted. Timber heaved a sigh. Their time of synchronisation was over. She was still very wary and unsettled about Ulrika on land. Ulrika was almost a danger to herself.
The young blonde haired girl walked forwards and saw the older man that would be teaching them today. "Sorry I'm..." She paused from her habit, looking around, but there was no other students. "...Late? Where is everyone?" She then turned to her dragon, pointing rudely as usual.
"You brought me here stupidly early again, didn't you?" She growled. Timber dismissed it via body language, closing her eyes and rolling her shoulders in a very obvious shrug.

With a huge piece of meat hanging from Camo's jaw, the duo were both panicking on how late they were to this new class thing. No one ever tells the Sharpblades anything! Or unless Venny forgot all about it. Venny pulled a rope that was tied to a collection of pans, the clanks and clangs had ended up with a groan from upstairs where Irrite was still snoozing. "His loss," Venny scoffed as she dashed out the door with her helmet carelessly placed on her messy bedhead. "Get a move on slow poke! We got a class to catch!" The Sharpblade exclaimed as she hopped on her partner. Camo grunted annoyed as he finished his breakfast.
The two had ran off and took to the air, complete with going through warm ups of swirls and spins. It wasn't too long they made it to the arena. Camo had made a dive toward the arena, swooping in for a clean landing. Venny had fell off her dragon and ended up with her back on the floor and legs still on Camo's saddle. "Not late!" Venny announced. "Maybe we already missed the lesson," Camo shrugged carelessly.

"You'll need a helmet," Opal's sight and hearing was momentarily blocked as a heavy horned helmet was thrown on her head, her ears rang a little bit from the clang of the helmet when it landed on her head. "And a sword, and a shield, maybe I should make you carry a spear in your mouth!" Aunt Paint's laughter seemed a bit more maniacal then helpful as she placed a heavy sword in Opal's hands and attached a shield to her other arm. The weight of the shield was too much for Opal's skinny frame and she slumped to the side, the edge of the shield touching the ground.
Aunt Paint stood and scanned over her niece before nodding her head, a bit a sly grin on her face. "There! All set for training. Now, keep in mind you might be the oldest there and without a dragon! But don't let those kids call you a pirate, you'll get a dragon... Maybe. Be sure to SPEAK to the people, Opal." Again, her laugh did little to help Opal's spirits about this. "Is there something wrong with my cutlass?" Opal asked as she pushed up the rim of the helmet and regretted it right away. Her aunt had a look of mild disgust on her face as she eyed the sword in question on Opal's belt. Seems even her aunt doubted she could be a viking with her strange pirate attire. Opal frowned and made note to never bring it up again with her aunt, but she was going to be a viking but why fight with weapons she could barely even use? Opal didn't want to set herself up for failure before she had even tired... However... That look. That bloody look on her face.
Aunt Paint shooed her niece out of her hut, and waved happily as the red headed girl grunted with the effort to drag the shield along with her up the hill to the arena. She muttered over and over to herself that she was indeed a viking. Her father had been a viking with a serious case of land sickness, she had the same thing from time to time, but since living on Berk she didn't nearly have it as bad. A mere step in the right direction to becoming a better viking!
Finally the redhead entered the arena, huffing and puffing from the effort of carrying the shield and sword with her all this way up. She pushed up helmet and sighed seeing one of the gathered students. Opal tossed the heavy shield to the side and stuck the heavy sword into the wood, letting it stand up in the wood. She muttered some choice words to herself as she rolled her shoulders about, getting the feeling back in her limbs. Was this truly going to be the only group of people here...? Opal had to be older then all of them... Her aunt's voice echoed in her head... SPEAK to the people. Speak... Opal struggled to think of intelligent thing to say to the gathered vikings. She crossed her arms and stared at the ground till her helmet slipped foward once more, covering her eyes with its metal. She grabbed the horned helmet and tossed it with her other discarded shield and sword.

Clockwork purred in exitement as venny rushed out the door, hoping irrite would be close behind. But he wasnt. Clockwork rolled his eyes, this nin-com-poop would make them late for sure! Clocky lept down from the roof and opened the door, squeezed in , breaking the door in the process.
Oh well, hed help irrite fix that later, the needed to haul it out of here!
He followed irrites sent into the house and found his bedroom, roaring loudly in his ear. The force of his breath enough to blow the boy's hair back he eventualy got impatient and picked him up by the back of his shirt and sped out the door on foot, he held his head up high so Irrite wouldnt be dangling too low to the ground as he ran to the arena. He skidded to a stop once in the door and opened his jaws, dropping the dead weight of his human on the ground. If the roar and 'ride' didnt wake him up, that for sure would.
Clockwork's tail swished impatiently as he waited for the lesson to start.

Irrite heard the 'alarm' Venny had made but he rolled back to sleep. But the sounds of a breaking door sure was a new way to get him up. But the sound of a dragon roaring got him up way quicker. "C-clockwork!' Irrite exclaimed in disbelief. He was starting to like the Venny versions of wake up calls but this was ridiculous! The clanking pans didn't roar in his ear and make him deaf. Irrite rubbed his ears as he lifted his torso up out of bed.
Before he knew it, he was being carried out of the bed, dangling from Clockwork, Irrite almost thought he was going to end up lunch. Or breakfast in this case. But somehow, Irrite ended up in the arena. Was this where Venny was off to a rush to? Oh wait there was a lesson today wasn't there? Man no one tells him anything but himself while flexing in the mirror, which he totally doesn't do in his spare time. "I swear I woke up," said Irrite as he stood up, brushing some dirt off him. He was so glad he slept in his clothes. "Clockwork I think we're early. Or on time, I think?" They really should had classified a time.

Saxi shook his head as the Vit's arived in various ways. One of witch was even dropped on his behind by his dragon. This was going to be harder than he thought. He carried on, a neutral expression on his stoic face.
"you guys arent late. Im just waiting to see who else shows up. " he looked about then sighed.
He refused to show pain on his face, but sub-zero picked it up. His ankle was killing him. Throbing. The dragon turned and stood behind Saxi, his saddle exposed. The teacher sighed but then smiled at his dragon's thoughtfullness. He climbed into the saddle, using his good foot, and turned, sitting side saddle. His bad leg crossed over his good one. His good foot set sturdily in thr stirrup.
His hand stroking his dragon's neck. Although Sub-zero was a natrualy agressive beast, he had his moments.
"sorry. Little accsedent took me out of teaching for a year. Im still kind of recovering. Thus, anyone who touches my bad ankle, i will break theirs." he said coldly. "sub-zero, you brought blindfolds right?" he asked.
The dragon nodded, a purr rippling from his throat as he pulled his head around and nuzzled one of the many pockets on yhe saddle, witch contained the blindfolds.
(sorry, im leavibg for a few days but dont be shy to jmp in on the lesson if you want too, ill be back late saturday)

It wasn't too long before the others came. Luckily too, otherwise Ulrika would have got bored and pestered Timber to go back flying again. She really loved flying, though she didn't quite feel or realise the stronger connection she had with the Night Fury through flight. But that was more probably because her feet were currently on the ground.
First came Venny, who Ulrika waved to in greeting. Venny was always funny when she didn't pick on Ulrika, and she often cheered her up and it was always fun when she decided to play a joke on Grima.
"You're early too? If there's a god of Time then he's messing up big time I think." Ulrika stated in regards to Venny's comment.
Then a new person came in. She hadn't seen this person before, but she was certainly a lot older than Venny and Ulrika. She briefly glanced at Saxi. She knew Saxi was a teacher, though she hadn't had him as a teacher before, since it was also her first year in Training. This new person couldn't be the teacher…
The red-haired lass shrugged off her shield to the floor and then stuck her sword into it. Ulrika wrinkled her nose in confusion and disgust. "…Whaaatt?" She exclaimed, walking up to the new person, before yanking the sword out of the shield.
"And they think I'm stupid! Sticking your sword in your shield… That's SO useful!" Ulrika was slightly flipping out. As a Viking and possibly a to-be berserker, she had a great affinity for weapons, though not skilled, she knew how to handle them. Watching this girl disrespect weaponry like this made her cringe. As she finally pulled the metal from the wood, it was clear that the Shield was damaged. "Look! How can a shield protect you if it's half broken! And sticking your sword just damages it, it wont cut as cool or be balanced as awesome." Ulrika shook her head. "Even I know that." She then shot a glance at Venny, as if expecting some sort of jibe on her intelligence.
She would have ranted more, but then Irrite came into the arena with Clockwork, or should it be Clocking bringing Irrite? Ulrika got distracted and laughed at the comical sight.
Saxi finally had a chance to speak up. She watched him mount on his dragon. Were they going to have a flying lesson? She always wanted one of those. She was sure she'd score top marks, since she had a Night Fury and supposedly they were 'awesome' when it came to flying. Ulrika wasn't sure, since the ground seemed to move so slowly when they were high up in the air.
But then Ulrika's hopes were dashed as Saxi asked his dragon for blindfolds. Her shoulders sank slightly at that. Blindfolds? What? She didn't like the sound of this lesson. At least Grima wasn't here yet. Maybe she could have some peace.

The stuntdevil had chuckled as she made herself comfortable with the half of her that was on the ground. "I guess that God is messing up big time as you said," Venny snickered. "Bigger than the last lesson we messed up." The memory was still scarred, first one out. But that was in the past, she was sure to do better this time.
Camo and Venny's attention had turned toward a... New person? They were probably around but neither of them paid attention or noticed. Venny let herself go and slip fully on to the floor as she watched the stranger make her weapons useless. She was about to say something, but good ol' Ulrika beat her to it. The prankster stared in awe, so did Camo. Both of them didn't expect the other girl to lecture anyone. Wait was Ulrika looking at her? Venny wobbled back up on her feet and leaned against Camo, clapping her hands. "That's really well done! Couldn't had said it better myself! But yeah let's not waste shields and all that."
It looked like the brash ViT was about to go off into more detail, but Venny and Camo couldn't help but snicker at Irrite. "Can't you get out of bed yourself?" Venny asked with a smirk. Camo was still chuckled to himself as he covered his mouth with a claw. The duo had kept laughing before they realized Clockwork was still around, they both shut up quickly. And instead, paid attention to the blindfolds. Looks like it's going to be a dark day.

Opal frowned when a very LOUD girl just charged up to her and started to mess with the sword and shield she had discarded. Opal watched with a raised eyebrow till she turned to her and started to give her a very long lecture. Opal took another step back and looked away from the girl for a few seconds before reaching down and grabbing the hilt of her cutlass and scanning it over with a keen eye.
"My sword is f-fine." Opal said as she tapped the metal handle with her index finger before crossing her arms and ducking her head. She moved quickly to the opposite side of the of the arena away from all the kids. Opal was older then all these kids, sure she should have known better, but frankly she couldn't use their heavy swords in the first place. Opal had no intentions of fighting any of these kids on dry land either. Best to just say what needed to be said and then move on.... Or just to the other side of the arena. Just as good if you didn't think about it.
She paced in her new spot, looking at the ground hoping that the kids would find something, or someone else, to bother when it came to proper sword care. Opal took great care of her cutlass, it was one of the only things she had from her fathers ship. She was going to be a great viking in her own way, with her own sword.

Clockwork snorted lightly before noticing Ulkrik teasing a girl he'd never seen before. The girl seemed troubled in a way about their rather harsh words. Shed only been here for about five minutes and they'd already been on her about something.
He looked down at the boy at his feet, gave him a light nuzzle
"stay here, ill be back." he didn't know if Irrite would know what he was saying, but it was worth a shot.
Clockwork lifted his head back up and slowly stepped over to the girl who was now all alone. He kept his head low and laid down infront of her. Something was diffent about the girl, he couldnt remeber the last time he saw red hair. He didnt think he'd ever seen it before. She was dressed oddly too, but he didnt care. His tail took a long wide sweep, Just high enough to possibly tap Ulrika over the back of the head. Not enough to legitimately hurt, but enough to possibly get her to quit.
He gently attempted to lay the good half of his face into Opal's hand. The metal half gleamed in the light sunlight. He snorted air lightly, the sound of air moving under the metal echoing softly. He stood and tried nudging her closer to Irrite. Maybe Irrite would have enough common sense not to be so rude.
His ears were then assulted by the word blindfold and the possiblity of flying. This would not end well. Clockwork would have to work extra hard to make sure Irrite wouldnt fall of him ehile possinly blind.

Irrite awkwardly blushed as the girls giggled at him. He should had gotten up earlier. Or at least maybe sleep somewhere where Venny or Clockwork couldn't find him. Maybe in the garden outside, yeah no one would be able to guess the garden! "You guys are just jealous cause your dragon doesn't have the heart to get you out of bed," he laughed after a yawn. At least it was to him. Clockwork then went over to another person which Irrite didn't know. Was it a dame?
A smile grew on Irrite's face. This was the perfect candidate to throw pick up lines at. But not now of course. This was a Viking in Training lesson not Flirt 101. "B-blindfolds?? Are you sure you want to use those for this class?? Terrible scenarios with gruesome endings came to mind. And more terrible was that he was going to be in these ends too. He hoped that everyone had enough commonsense to go through this without getting killed. If someone did, it would be so sad and depressing! Although if it was Venny there was a bright side that there wouldn't be any troubles around the house but that would be surely missed.

Saxi let out an irritated snort at Ulrika's antics. His cold eyes boring into her patiently waiting on her and venny to shut up long enough for him to scare the whits out of them and whip them back into line. He puff of hot air came out as a fog under his nose as his obsidian eyes seemed to stare into her very soul.
The moment Ulrika quieted he dryly stated. "For starters I do belive in corpal punishment. I am not above beating a bound student withing inches of her life." he said coldly. Cruel this may be, this was his teaching method. He's well known for beating even the most unruley student into submission untill they learned atleast how to be a bearable person. ( he may have trouble with Ulrika but challange accsepted.)
His stern gaze lightened up ever-so-slightly as his eyes settle upon the victim of their antagonizing. He looked Opal over once but then realized that a dragon had been trying to introduce her to another ViT. He was moved by such kindness, most dragons could care less wether a human felt leftout or not, but this one seemed to be super-sensitive to feelings.
He the realized that he needed not to soften, let them know the stern side to him before they find his softer side.
"Everyone grab a blindfold and mount your dragons. It is very important to trust your Dragon's insticts. Land may be your territory, but the skie are theirs and no matter how many times you go flying, your dragon will always know more about it than you do." he explained stepping down off his dragon. Sub-zero lazily turned his head around. "Before I hear any complaining on how impossable it is, i'll prove it's not that hard if you do. I chose something decently easy for the first lesson. Going easy before we get into combat training."

Ulrika followed Opal's gaze down to the cutlass at her side. She tilted her head slightly. "You call that a sword? It looks awful flimsy". The new girl was irked and it was obvious that Ulrika had overdone it, as she awkardly moved away elsewhere.
Irrite's dragon noticed this and moved over to the lone newcomer, tapping his tail over her head, making her stagger forwards. Timber gave a laugh at the comedy, before turning to look at Clockwork. Was he stealing her moves now? She wondered if this sort of ulrika-bashing antic would spread to the other tame dragons.
Ulrika whipped around, fire in her eyes at the dragon. "Hey! Watch where you're going! You almost loped my head off!" She yelled at the Western.
She turned again as the teacher made a gruff remark. The threat glazed over her, used to brushing with death on a weekly basis, as she escaped from angry dragons and angry Grimas. She gave him an equally blank expression. This guy wasn't the boss of her!
He then began to explain the lesson. She didn't like the idea of being blindfolded, but Timber on the other hand was very curious. It was a flying lesson? Neither of them had been through one of these before. Timber became enthusiastic about it. She preferred Ulrika when she was in the sky, she seemed... different. She began leaping excitedly around Ulrika, prompting her to grab a blindfold.
Ulrika did, but she wasn't so sure. She turned to Saxi who was mounted on his dragon. "What's the point if we can't see nought?" Ulrika complained, holding the blindfolds in her hands, reluctant to give up her gift of sight. "I can't read minds. Iunno what Timber thinks."
Timber then rolled her eyes. "Well it would be easier if you maybe learnt dragonese..." She grumbled.
Ulrika watched and felt the peer pressure to put the blindfolds on. She looked to Timber. "Don't make fun of me!" She warned, slipping the cloth over her head and plunging the world into darkness. She became uneasy and spread her arms to keep her balance and hope nothing would knock into her.
Timber watched as the girl she knew became completely helpless. Her ears laid back in sympathy. She looked up to Saxi and his dragon. Timber and Ulrika had no way they could communicate, this would be so much more difficult for both of them than it would be for the other riders. She made a noise for Ulrika to know where she was, and gently pushed her nose into one of her palms.
Suddenly relieved and no longer isolated, Ulrika brought both her hands to the dragon and shimmied her way around, finding the saddle. She lifted herself up. She suddenly felt a lot more comfortable, but she could still see nothing. She felt the beast rocking beneath her as it got used to Ulrikas weight and held it's balance. She lowered her centre of gravity on the dragon, just like she would do for flying.
Ulrika felt nervous. Timber made a noise, tensing Ulrika before moving towards the gates, towards the sky. But Ulrika didn't know that.

Camo and Venny watched as Irrite's dragon, Clockwork, smacked Ulrika upside the head. Venny winced in empathy while Camo smirked. That happened to her with Camo why too many times whenever she had made a rude comment about someone. She guessed it was supposed to keep her in check since her old man wasn't coming back until a few weeks from now.
And then Clockwork went over to the newbie. Venny reminded herself to make introductions later and make the first move on pranking. As that would make a great impression for the Sharpblades! Or at least Venny. And maybe Camo. And maybe everyone else that she decided to help her out.
"Blindfolds? Come on I can ride Camo in my sleep!" Venny scoffed, leaning against her partner. Camo rolled his eyes as he stepped away, causing Venny to fall. "This is a easy feat. We do this all the time." The chanewing went over to pluck a blindfold from the teacher, then flicked it over to his partner.
Venny mumbled something about being a jerk as she caught the piece of fabric and tied it around her head. "You're about to get beaaat," Venny sang as she reached to find Camo. The dragon had lifted her up on his back, and they both waited for instructions.
