Slode is a generally peaceable guy. He loves to wittle wood, and doen't generaly like to do much. He's not lazy; not in the least! He's just not a strong guy, and is therefore a terrible Viking (I think I've mentioned that a few times!) He doesn't do much because, quite frankly, he's afraid he'll screw it up and hurt someone! He's too nice of a guy, and is sometimes called girly by his fellow Vikings, but he just has other's best interests at heart!
Slode's got a great sense of humor! He finds something funny in everything! He's also a talented flirt; has more charm in one hand that most Vikings have in their whole bodies. But underneith the charm and sensitivity, Slode is actually a regular sort of guy. He likes getting dirty and likes weapons and likes big impressive Dragons.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
Face: A Rather normal face, with a some-what square-set jaw. Slode's got a bit of a goatee-beard, and a wide crooked grin. His eyes are dark, murky brown, and his skin is not pale, but not dark, either.
Hair: Slode's hair is black and straight. It's rather long, and he keeps it in a pony-tail at the nape of his neck. The front part of his hair just hangs in his face.
Build: Strinky and skinny, Slode stands at 6 ft. 2 inches, but he doesn't weigh more than 160 pounds! He does have a bit of muscle on him though not much.
Clothes: Slode dresses very basically, a dark-colored shirt and pants with his usual worn-down boots on his 'off' days. He dresses just a bit more extravigantly when conducting official Viking duties: a brown bear-skin vest and a golden buckled-belt, along with his helmet and newer, lighter brown boots.
Special Markings: An embarrassing bald-spot on the back of his head that he keeps hidden and secret! He also has a few scars on his upper arms and chest, mostly dragon-claw marks or slashes from a sword.
HISTORY
Slode is the fourth born in a family of 7 children (not including the dead ones) and two parents. When he was seven, he had a three year old little sister who drowned while he and his three older brothers were left alone. It was actually his oldest brother's fault, who was 14 at the time, but he still blames himself. At 18, he was kicked out of his family's house (his brothers were kicked out when they turned 18, too) and had to get the carpenter's apprentice to help him build his own house!
Slode had a pretty hard time in Viking Training. Not naturally gifted with dragons nor swords, but coming from a family where that was all that was expected from the men, he wasn't given much choice. He wasn't actively teased, and the other boys didn't dislike him, per say, but he saw the progress they were making, and saw that he wasn't making ANY progress. In a way, he almost ostrisized himself, pulling away from his class-mates, for fear that they'd realize what a pathetic trainie he was. They wern't bad kids at all, and if he'd just had a little more confidence in himself, he would have seen that they probably would have accepted him anyway.
Slode didn't always have the dragon he has now. Kalithra is actually his second dragon! The dragon he 'bonded' with at first was a Zippleback he dubbed 'Yofur' and 'Yagga'. He got along well enough with Double Y, as he called them, but they never really treated him like their master. They were rather disobediant, and only followed his orders as they felt like it. They were just a bad match, and two years after training started and he aquired the zippleback, they just, flew off. Slode's training was put on hold for an entire year, where he was sentenced to work as a ship-boy until he was able to find another dragon.
Then one day, as the ship he was working on sailed through the waters, towards distant Islands to trade, a very large and blue-eyed Scauldren swam up next to the boat. She wasn't following them as much as she seemed to be guiding them, helping them avoid hidden ice-floats and sand-bars. Slode was fascinated by this motherly dragon, and in an attempt to reach down and pat her head, just barely skimming the surface of the water, he fell in. When the Scauldren pushed Slode back onto the deck of the boat, he knew he'd found his dragon partner.
Slode's seen his two young sisters get married off, and seen his older brothers marry, too, and so far, only he and his 17 year old little brother are the only unmarried members of his family!

Kelithra is a pleasant and calm dragon. She is startled easily, but doesn't get worked up over just anything. She has had several broods of eggs, resulting in numerous offspring, some of which have left to lands unknown and some of which have stayed on Berk. She's a motherly dragon, and babies Slode! She treats him like one of her own babies, and keeps him safe from harm. Kelithra loves human children as well as dragon children, and will herd lost or confused young ones until their mothers claim them again. She's been dubbed Berks 'Babysitter' for this reason! (Important to note: Kelithra has such a strong maternal instinct, that when two seperate Nightmares abandoned their broods simultaniously three years ago, she took on both broods, 16 hatchlings, and cared for them until they left the nest!)

- Sits on enemies or troublesome children to keep them imobalized
- Dive Bomb - Flies at high altitudes, and then drops, crushing whatever she lands on. Modified version also works under water.
- Lava Rain - a tecnique she and Slode worked out together. Kelithra accidentally swallowed molten steel at the blacksmith at one point, about four years ago, and she didn't burp it back up for several hours, and when she did finally burp it up, it was still molten. Now, she swallows molten steel before she and Slode go to battle, and spits it at enemies.
