PERSONALITY: Still young, she is still childish and loves to play around. She’s very friendly to other dragons and always wants to play games with them. Often times, however, she’s stuck making up a game to play by herself, which makes her feel lonely. She's very easily intimidated, especially by the unknown or humans. She’s not too proud to run away crying at even a small disturbance. On rare occasions she will stop and defend herself. However, it is all a show and the worst she will do is roar in another’s face. She’s particularly defensive when it comes to food, as she has a terrible time catching it and often goes hungry at night. Despite her demeanor, be it nervous or threatening, she is really a very friendly and gentle dragon that longs for attention and companionship.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: The Night Fury living on the faraway dragon-eating island are just a bit lighter in color than the ones at Berk, so she is more of a dark blue-gray than completely black. Since she is still young, her features are rather lean and her muscles not quite as built as a full grown Night Fury. Her size, however, is nearly that of an adult and is just big enough to fly on. Her eyes are large and more of a pale green color than the regular yellow. Her wings are full and very large in comparison to her body.
ABILITIES: She possesses the familiar signature fire blast that all Night Fury have. However, native to her sub-species on the island, it is blue in color and, instead of one big blast, it comes out as a series of several small ones. She’s a good flyer and loves doing stunts to entertain herself or show off to other dragons. Being as she hates violence, though, she has no other skills known to her.
HISTORY: Hundreds of miles away from Berk, there is an island where dragons are a delicacy. Many rare types of dragons live there, including the Night Fury. They are the most sought after dragon by these people and have been hunted to near extinction. For many years, however, a single flock of Night Fury has managed to survive and live on the island in a cove undiscovered by humans. For many years this family has lived in peace. They hunted food within a close range of their home and never interacted with humans. Some youngsters had never even seen a human. The newest born Night Fury didn't even know humans existed for most of her life. She lived amongst her family in happiness with few worries. The younger dragons weren't allowed to leave the cove as often as the adults, as it was too risky to be seen by humans. The siblings would play with each other within the cove and the youngest got along with all of them. Sometimes her mother, under constant watch, would allow her to step outside into the forest and play with other young dragons. As social and carefree as she was, she almost always made friends with every dragon she met. She preferred making friends with males, however, as she had mostly brothers and was simply used to them. Females, despite being one herself, were not as likely to want to play wrestle and were thus less interesting to the little Night Fury.
The youngest dragon of the flock was born only 10 years before the day the humans found and raided the cove of Night Fury. They came armed and prepared to kill or capture every Night Fury that was left alive on the island. Many tried to escape and the youngest Night Fury and her mother almost made it to the ocean. However, the mother was captured just as her daughter took off. Though she was terrified and didn’t know where to go, her mother’s shrieking for her to keep running convinced her to reluctantly turn away from the only home she ever knew and fly away for her life.
The young Night Fury must have flown for days and grew exhausted. Eventually she was too tired and hungry to remain airborne and collapsed into the water. She lost consciousness as she began to sink helplessly to the bottom of the ocean. When she came to, she was on land at a shoreline. Groggy and weak, she managed to take a glance behind her and see a huge and completely black dragon dive underwater and disappear. The young Night Fury stayed on the beach until nightfall, desperately waiting for one of her family members to find her or even for her strange rescuer to reappear. But nothing came to her and as the sky grew dark, she sought refuge in Toothless’ Forest.
And within that forest she has lived ever since. She rarely leaves, especially after an uneventful but still terrifying encounter with a few humans a couple of days after she arrived there. All humans horrify her and she runs and hides at the mere smell of them. Loud noises also frighten her, as they remind her of the sounds the cannons made when the humans fired them at her family. She likes dragons, however, and loves to make friends with them. Since she’s still rather young, she likes to goof around and have fun. However, she is very lonely and longs for a constant companion.
FRIENDS, OTHER FAMILY: A flock of Night Fury that were either killed or captured by the dragon-eating islanders. Her parents were very loving, especially her mother, and she had a lot of siblings.
