It took several hours for the village chief to finally land a single blow to her shoulder. That blow was all it took to subdue her and stop her rampage, for her body was extremely sensitive from the moment she hit puberty.
Once she was calmed, the chief and elder told her to leave the village of Berk immediately, for she was far too dangerous to stay around without Shadow. Reluctantly, she agreed to leave, but only on the premise that she would not be targeted. They agreed, and she left the following day, just after Shadow.
From then on, she has been off and on within the company of Shadow and Viking. She found them the first time a few days after the pair met. Desperate for his companionship, she had cried out for him, and he appeared above her, swiftly and silently landing just in front of her. She was so surprised, relieved, and ecstatic to see him, that she ran up to him, completely forgetting that he was riding a rather anti-social White Fury. To both of their surprise, not only did Viking accept her immediately, he tripped her upward and onto his back in a swift motion of his wing, and flew off with the two of them.
And this rest, as they say, is history. In a vain attempt to keep Lia safe, Shadow will sometimes leave her behind in certain towns where he knows she will be safe. Though somewhat hurt whenever she leaves, she understands his intentions, but still follows him wherever he goes. She does not believe Shadow truly knows what he means to her, and she is determined to tell him one day. Until then, she will always search for him, and be by his side.
