The day was just beginning. Aisyen was soaring over the forests with Autumn on her back, who was enjoying the cool morning air. The girl's hair was whisking over her face and she reached to push it behind her ear."It's a beautiful day today." Autumn said in Dragonese. Aisyen just nodded in approval and kept flying.
Soon Aisyen began to spiral down to the ground in a large clearing. There was a small stream running through several trees, with mossy rocks scattered here and there. It was a beautiful clearing, and Autumn was going to enjoy it. As soon as they landed, Autumn hopped off of her dragon's back and sat down on a nearby rock. Taking out her charcoal, the girl took a piece of bark from a tree and started sketching Aisyen, whose scales were a content indigo. The only sounds were the stream bubbling, the birds chirping, and Aisyen's nearly silent breathing.

The sun shined through the few trees Nightrode was hiding in. He searched desperately, like everyday for something to eat. He kicks some mossy rocks over, and pouts when figuring, that not even a single insect was hiding under it. His stomach was growling, and almost bringing him to faint over.
Slowly, but surely, he got himself to wards a small clear river, where he started drinking from. "Ah... some refreshment in this hell..." he spoke, in a whisper tone. He didn't notice the figure on the rock, silently scribbling for herself. He moved onto an out sticking flat rock inside the river, opening his feathered wings and at the same time, giving the stranger a beautiful view on his wings and shape, as he stood right in the sun. "Mmmh... but at least one little thing never changes... the sun shines everyday..." He sighed. The sunshine was the only good part of this place. Sure, it's "greener" as well, but the old life still tortured him.
His stomach growled once more in a loud fashion. "I need to... eat..." he groaned, slumping off the rock and crawling forwards. "Food..." at this point, he could only help but flop down. He was starved, his bones were visible on many places, especially his chest and belly. He only felt the need to rest now, rest and hope to wake up after wards again...

When the newcomer lumbered into the clearing, Aisyen bared her shining white teeth and growled. Autumn looked up and saw the beautiful feathered beast. When it slumped onto the ground, she carefully set her charcoal down on the stone beside her and stood up. The dragon was somewhat large, and it scared her. Autumn edged her way over to Aisyen, who was still glaring at the beast through narrowed eyes.
"Why are you here?" Aisyen growled, just before he could close his eyes. Her scales had turned a deep crimson red.

"I...I... " he tried to stand up, barely able to even move. His stomach growled once more, yelping in a helpless manner, not noticing the grave danger. His tail started slamming against the ground, finally managing to get his body up. "Stay...away...!" he growled, aiming his voice mostly at the human. "Stay...away..." He slumped down again, landing with his head on his front paws, looking helpless. "There's no way... I'll let you...hurt me..." The dragon lifted himself up, opening its wings in a defensive manner. It starts roaring, knowing it doesn't have the power to flee anymore...

Slowly taking the dagger from her belt and the quiver of arrows from her back, Autumn dropped them on the grass in front of her. Aisyen knew what she was trying to do, so she relaxed a bit, her scales softening in color. "I'm not going to hurt you." Autumn said in calm Dragonese, her voice level and strong. The girl took a sliver of salmon that she had smoked the day before and slowly made her way closer and closer to the beast. Though her heart was beating incredibly fast, she knew that if she didn't help it, the dragon would die. That thought pushed her on until she was only a few meters away from the beast.
Holding out the salmon, Autumn looked down to avoid eye contact with the dragon. The girl slowed her breathing and let out a forced calm sigh.

"Th-That's something to eat... he whispered, bringing himself to step slowly closer to Autumn. "That fish... it smells so delicious... and she dropped her weapons... I'll let it...pass... With a quick snap, Nightrode took the salmon of her hand and ate it hastily, not even remotely thinking of giving a share. After he fully gobbled it down, Nightrode let out a content sigh, looking up at Autumn in a more friendly matter then before. "Yo-... You saved me..." He took a deep breath before he roared: " But there is no way I won't believe you may hold another weapon in your sleeve! You're just like all the others! There are no good humans!!!" roaring in his face, he took off, trying to fly with his new gained strength oh-so-desperately, but he fell down like a clumsy infant dragon again.
Suddenly a loud "SNAP!" was heard, Nightrode getting caught in a bear trap. His left front paw was broken through, him slumping down, yelping in pain.
"You did that, didn't you?!... Devilish creature!!" He struggled all he could, but his powers went soon from him again. "You monster..."

((And remember, it's not normal for humans to speak Dragonese )) Autumn jerked her hand back when the beast took the fish. Such great speed... This dragon was intriguing, it had bright feathers instead of scales, and it was long and lanky. Suddenly, it spoke again. Autumn could scarcely make out the raspy Dragonese. In reply, the girl said shakily. "I am not going to hurt you." Then, taking off her cloak, she laid it on the ground. She did the same with her pack, then kicked it to the side. The dragon tried to lift itself into the sky, but it was still too weak. The beast fell and landed in a bear trap with a sickening snap. The sight of the blood and bone made Autumn weak in the knees. Letting out a shakey breath, the girl looked to Aisyen, who was staring at the broken thing. "She would never hurt a dragon!" Aisyen muttered to the other beast. Autumn slowly, and very carefully, made her way over to the feathered dragon. Its leg was bleeding terribly, and it's bright white bone was poking through it's skin in an awkward position. Picking up her dagger, the girl moved to the beast. ((She could take his leg off! ...Just kidding >_>))Autumn speaking Dragonese Autumn speaking Autumn thinking

"Now you're going to give me the finish blow, won't you?!" Nightrode roared, almost as if out of control, when he finally began realizing something. "You can speak my language?!" He was more then just confused. When he was small, he yelped for help, for comfort, for some food... but all he got were arrows in his neck, back, swords, axes... the entire program. Now this human was different; she spoke and truly, had nothing left besides her dagger. Even in this position, it would be no trouble to dissolve her with his poison, but the other color-changing dragon was around... "She doesn't hurt you!?" baffled, he looked at the dragon, then the human, feeling his front body go numb. He stopped moving frantically, but held a steady glare upon the human - steadily watching her with his wide amber eyes...

Slowly, Autumn looked up to meet his gaze. "Yes, I can understand you." Then, rolling up her tattered sleeve, she showed him her dark red scar, it ran all the way up to her shoulder. "A human gave me this. I am not like most." Then, gathering her courage, Autumn stepped closer to the beast's wounded leg and wedged her makeshift dagger into the hinge. Using all of her strength, the girl popped the bolt off and the trap fell away. There was blood covering her hands now, but Autumn ignored it. This dragon needed help.
Aisyen was amazed at the other dragon's patience with Autumn, though she was ready to spring and attack if it suddenly turned on her rider. Her heard beating wildly, Aisyen crouched and waited for something to happen.
As the trap popped open, Autumn carefully took the dragon's bleeding leg and laid it on the grass, straightening it out as well as she could. The girl took four arrows from her quiver and took off the heads. Then, placing one on each side of the beast's leg, Autumn straightened it one last time, and wrapped her brown cloak around it. Blood seeped through the cloth, but she could wash it later.

"Nrrrgh..." Nightrode groaned, having an obvious distrusting look on his face. "One single wrong step, human..." he threatened "And you'll be nothing else because dissolved mass..." his voice shoock, with both distrust, and fear. His fear was most to hear, himself struggling with the tears. "A... nice human...? But..." The emotional stress and pain combined, caused the dragon to shed a tear, leaving himself wide open for a moment, his eyes showing every single bit of pain he went through.
"You... won't harm...me...? Why not...? Everyone tried to kill me... to eat me..." His fear was clearly visible. Noticing the bandage Autumn did around his leg, he grew calmer in his fear. "I...I won't hurt you, if you won't hurt me..." He was confused why he would let a human live like that, may it be that there was a completely healthy and ready dragon in front of him, or was he... possibly... starting to feel safe?
For a moment, he felt fluttered, "safe"... to have another being then himself care for him and aid him. Was he insane? Thousand questions raced through his head. "Has the loneliness killed my senses? She's a human! Why was she helping me? Why isn't the other dragon slaughtering me? Why aren't they using the chance to kill me? And her mark... another one of them did that to her? Maybe she is different... Aaargh, what am I to do?!"
Nightrode fought with himself, but whatever he did, he couldn't help salty tears to drop from his eyes onto the ground, leaving himself open...

As Autumn finished wrapping the splint over the dragon's feathered leg, she pulled the bear trap away, tossing it next to the stream that trickled nearby. The girl looked back to the dragon, seeing his eyes cloud. Dragons can cry? She thought, confused.

Moving the healthy claw up, Nightrode tried to wipe away those tears. Unsuccessfully. He let out a sad groan, dripping a large tear onto the face of the confused girl. "I mustn't cry... I mustn't..." he stuttered. His entire body shivered at this point. Losing a part of his dignity, Nightrode leaned with his large neck down, just barely touching the girls shoulder, inviting her to comfort him. He didn't understand himself why he was doing that, the confusion making him even more upset. But at this very moment, he wished for some comfort, some word that tells him truth from wrong... And the best one to deliver that right now, is the girl aiding him. ((OOC: I hope you'll update your post or something... or make your next post connect upon my earlier one a little as well. It surprised Autumn when the dragon laid his head on her shoulder. She was shocked for a short moment, but soon brought her hand up and stroked his feathered neck. The brightly colored feathers were incredibly soft, completely opposite of what the girl would have thought them to be.
Autumn could feel the beast's warm breath against her neck, and a single white tear that fell onto her bare shoulder. It was so strange... The dragon had been so aggressive just minutes before, but now... he was acting so sweet.
Autumn's beating heart slowed, and her hands stopped shaking. This dragon had obviously been abused at some point, he was skinny, hungry, and scared. Aisyen's burning red scales had turned a softer pink, she was curious about what was to happen next.
Smiling, Autumn pushed herself away from the feathered dragon gently and looked into his big eyes. "I'm here to help." She muttered in quiet Dragonese.

"Help me...?... What does that mean...?" The dragon leaned his head back, away from the human, still shy and somewhat scared. "The only way people used to "Help" me was by pushing me into a giant cooking pot-like-thing, and I didn't enjoy that..."
A short moment he felt pretty secure around the small human creature, when he smelled another foreign scent.
A dragon.
An ADULT dragon to be more exact.
Fearing the incoming threat, he started panicking, stepping back wards, landing clumsily on his back...
Whenever he spoke, he sounded mature and serious, but his behavior clearly showed that he was nothing but a child.
With the help of his large tail he managed to get himself up again, but the panic didn't cease. A large adult dragon was on his/her way here, and according to the scent, he/she didn't like us being in his/her territory.
Feeling a warm strike in his heart when looking over to Autumn he said: "You... You've got to get out of here! Take your friend dragon there and fly! I am not worth the trouble... Don't hesitate to leave! I can't flee anyway - I can't fly!"
Admitting the missing knowledge to fly hurt more then it seemed - Every dragon with wings can fly, INCLUDING the Gronckle where it should be almost impossible.
Nightrode pushed with his forehead Autumn closer to her dragon, not awaiting an answer. The dragon would be soon here, and he felt that he wasn't worth the trouble to be "saved".
