It had been so long since Sunset had rejected Frostfire. She was skinny, and so deprived of rest it was weighing her down more and more each moment. It seemed that the world had collapsed on her, even her sapphire markings seemed to shine less brightly. There were so many reasons the Night Fury wished to return to her brother, but she knew she would be slaughtered at his claws for the fury she'd caused him.
There was no where to go but forward.
After stumbling along the mountainside for a while, Frostfire came to a small cave hidden by a pile of stone. Without checking to see if it had any inhabitants, she dove in, closing her eyes and letting out a content moan.

As Noah had to go for a while, Nightrode decided to rest in his old cave. It was small, and yet holy to him, as it was the spot that he and Noah had met.
His slumber was interrupted as somebody entered the cave. Glancing around, his eyes were still too tired to make out what had so forcefully stopped him about dreaming of fish flying into his mouth.
Nightrode lifted his body, glancing into the darkness. Stretching his large wings and giving out a large content yawn, he finally took notice of the smaller black being that had gone into his holy ground.
Hissing, he went into a defensive position, saying in a deep growling voice: "Who is there?! Who enters my den?! If you think that you can take this place away from me, then you are clearly MISTAKEN!" Leaping forward, Nightrode stood now right infront of the Night Fury, opening his jaw and showing his fangs angrily.
"Speak for yourself... or else I won't show any mercy."

Frostfire's sapphire eyes snapped open at the sound of the other dragon's voice. She raised her dark wings over her head in terror, shaking both from fear and hunger. "I-I'm sorry! I didn't m-mean to!" Her voice was desperate as she laid on the stone floor of the cave.
"D-don't hurt me!" Frostfire cried. The Night Fury risked a glance at the other dragon, not wanting to make eye contact. His fangs were frightening, and Frostfire slid her own out cautiously. This gave her more confidence, allowing her to slowly sit up. "My name's F-Frostfire," She mumbled timidly.

"Frostfire, mmh? My name's Nightrode. Not happy to make your acquaintance." He said roughly, examining the Night Fury. "This isn't a pity party where everyone can just decide to sleep here, little Missy!" Hissing, he walked a circle around her, noticing that she looked rather thin and as if she didn't rest for quite a while. Feeling a glimpse of empathy, he continued: "...Well. You can stay here if you want... for a while. I'll get you something to eat... favor fresh fish? I can hunt some Merlin." He responded in a calmer voice then usual, looking towards her eyes. Flicking his tail from right to left, he slided outside the tiny cave, fully opening his wings, making him seem way bigger then before.
"... Just don't get too comfortable. Once you're strong enough to continue your journey, you will do so." With that, he jumped off of the cliff he had rested on, gliding smoothly towards the ocean. "Hrrmm... she seemed as skinny and helpless as I was back then... without any help, she might die."
He looked once more back at her helpless figure in the cave. Determined he looked forward.
Time to hunt.

Frostfire shrank back as Nightrode brushed past her. "Th-Thank you," She stuttered uneasily. Was he really going to help her? She had intruded, why was he helping her? There was no reason for the other dragon to care for her needs.
When Frostfire was sure Nightrode had left, she laid down, pressed against the cold stone wall of the cave. Closing her eyes, the Night Fury slept for the first time in days.

Gliding smoothly on the soft winds, he slowly approached the vastness of the ocean. If there is something he's good at, then it's at fishing. Riding the warm currents of the sea, he looked down into the darkness. Nothing jumped yet.
Nightrode noticed a few shadows in the water. Taking distance from the water, he kept his eyes always on the moving shadows. In a risky dive, he snapped onto his victim.
A nice big salmon.
Gulping it down, he searched further. A salmon only won't help her. The dragon spent hours just hunting for fish. It wasn't going as good as usual... but it should have been enough. Turning around with his sleek body, the serpent dragon returned back to his home, where the female Night Fury was silently sleeping.
"I hate to break your nap, Frostfire... but here's a snack."
In strong motions, Nightrode gave away most of the fish he had previously hunted. It took him a while to puke out most he had, but it piled up nicely near her.
"Uurf... enjoy."
Nightrode turned afterwards away again, coiling himself up. He needed a rest from all that flying. He always had an eye open for Frostfire though, incase she turned on him.

Drakoh was flying around when he scented Frostfire. He flew downward and spotted the small cave. Landing swiftly, he sniffed the air. Another dragon!
He burst into the cave. Frostfire was lying on the ground, looking thin and weak. He growled at the other dragon, showing his teeth. "What are you doing?" he hissed, spreading out his wings to make himself look bigger. His left leg was still sore, but he had a hunger for violence.

Frostfire, famished, had attacked the pile of fish. Her eyes were wide, darting around to ensure that the fish was truly hers. It was so delicious, and the first real food she'd had in ages. After she had tore through the large salmon, she looked up to Nightrode, her eyes softening. "Th-thank you-"
Her words were cut off by yet another dragon bursting through the mouth of the cave. She moved swiftly so that she was between Nightrode and the other dragon. Though she was weak, Nightrode had saved her. Sliding out her teeth and raising her wings, Frostfire snarled at the newcomer.
"What do you-" Frostfire stiffened, letting her wings droop slightly. She stretched out her head slightly, studying the Night Fury before her. ...Drakoh?""

Watching her eat, the dragon let out a small content sigh. He was by no means evil... he just had issues. As the Night Fury finished, she uttered her thanks - which were delighting words for him. He had no chance to dig deeper into them and maybe spark a conversation, as an angry and blood thirsty dragon entered HIS cave, asking for a beating.
Frostfire had moved herself infront of Nightrode in a sign of protection, but he doesn't need help from a weakling. Seeing himself and Frostfire threatened, Nightrode spread his wings, reaching the ceiling. He bared his large teeth and purposely slided out his poisonous fangs. Growling deeply, he said:
"I don't know what your problem is, but if you're just going to probe into MY holy grounds and even THREATEN me whilst doing so...!"
Hissing very loud, Nightrode was about to go all over this guy. What nerve did this dragon have?! In his rage he didn't notice Frostfire making contact to the enraged Night Fury and proceeded sending a warning shot of a green fluid that stuck to the walls and slowly dissolved it.
"Get. out. NOW."
Letting out a tremendous roar, he looked with a deadly glare at Drakoh. He seemed to share the same liking of... "a playful little fight."

Drakoh moved forward to touch noses with Frostfire, but the other dragon's words annoyed him. He stretched on his hind legs, wings out. A jet of flame built up in his mouth.
He was about to fire when his wounded leg brushed lightly against the poison. Pain seared up to his brain. He roared and accidentally sent the jet of fire flying in Nightrode's direction.

When the fireball was shot, Frostfire brought her wing up, knowing that Nightrode's feathered body would not provide sufficient armor against the fire of the Night Fury. When it hit her outstretched wing, Frostfire let out a grunt, the thin skin on her wing searing with heat. It was painful, but just another burden to bear.
Frostfire, seeing the acidic poison affect Drakoh, swung around so she was level with Nightrode's eyes. "Look what you did!" She growled, lashing her long, sapphire streaked tail. She gave one last snarl to the feathered dragon before turning back to Drakoh.
The wound from the poison was large and red. Frostfire, weak from all the commotion, collapsed where she was, nudging Drakoh's forehead before muttering an apology to Nightrode. The Night Fury closed her eyes, brain throbbing. She could only hope that Nightrode wouldn't tear Drakoh apart.

The dragon looked confused at Drakoh's shining mouth. He had never seen a dragon charge his fire before... nor FIRE it. Frostfire sacrificed her health by using her wings as shields for him. He was about to rant at her for her carelessness, because it was none of her business AND she was weak... But the Night Fury suddenly lifted herself and yelled right into his face. Snarling angrily, she returned to the other Night Fury. He must have been her friend...
"... I... I'm sorry, I was just trying to protect my ground here... AND you!" he yelled, a whine coming up his throat.
Seeing her collapse basically sealed the deal.
"Great job, Nightrode. You managed to be an idiot AGAIN. A BIG one, too.
He bickered with himself for a while until saying:
"This entire thing is MY fault, so both of you REST!... I'll give you food and shelter!!"
He looked in a way at Drakoh like a puppy would: Big deluded eyes, him sitting down, and his tail flicked sometimes behind him...
"... Please. Stay."
