Eyvind stepped slowly through the woods, carefully checking every rock and stone, and looking back at the stack of notes he held tucked under his arms. He pulled a pair of odd-looking goggles down over his eyes, continuing to silently search the forest. "This is where the reports have been... but no sign of dragons, or even a shimmer...."
He stops a moment to think, lifting the goggles back up onto his forehead. "Now, lets see... there has to be a point where these reports coincide, after all, I'm certain it's all from the same source, and not something as ridiculous as 'ghosts' or whatever else they claim it to be." He sighs, reading over his notes for the twentieth time.

"You sure about this?" Ryan gulped as his Basic Brown dragon, Dusty, continued to butt his head on Ryan's back. The dragon urged the human forward, through an unfamiliar forest. Dusty only made a purring like noise in his throat, which Ryan took as a 'yes'. Ryan really wished he could understand dragons. He was hopeful that he could at first, after being around animals all his life. All he could understand though, was the dragon's body language, which at times, resembled that of various animals that Ryan had encountered.
Some could say that Ryan sometimes different animals. Well, to an extent, they were true. He had grown up in a forest, so he was accustomed to seeing how the animals moved. It was only natural for the young boy to imitate them. Ryan had watched squirrels climb trees, then learned himself. Living in the forest had helped him in many areas, yes. He knew how to live by himself, could make almost anything necessary, and how to look after himself. He had been on his own since he was ten. Three years, and it had seemed like his parents had sort of been preparing him for it.
After Ryan had found and tamed Dusty, the dragon had started to take him out of his comfort zone. Ryan was just used to the familiar surroundings of his small patch of forest which he called home. In that small patch, there were no dragons, no humans, no visitors. Just him and his animals. Then one day, he had decided to wander outside of that small area and had found Dusty. Ever since, the dragon had been intent on getting his human different places.
Ryan gave a halt as his sensitive ears picked up a sound. A human voice. He began shaking, looked around and scurried up the nearest tree with a graceful ease. Thank goodness they were in a forest. Ryan was scared of other people. He didn't know why though; perhaps his separation from them for so long. Ryan had only grown up around his mother and father. Other than that, he hadn't been exposed to anyone else. Then, after his parents died, he had spent three years by himself before finding his dragon and getting proper company again. Yes, Ryan did count Dusty as proper company. Sure, he wasn't Ryan's species, but right now, Dusty was his best friend. The dragon felt more and more like family by the day, not just a pet. Dusty gave a slightly protective growl as he felt his human's uncomfortableness. The Brown curled up by the base of the tree and looked for the person from whose mouth the voice was issuing from.OOC: Hope its alright if I join you in here Character Name: Ryan Simons//Dusty Mood: Slightly Scared, Freaked Out//Encouraging, Protective To: Eyvind and Open IC Word Count: 457 Made By: Ellie Brigid at Olympian Prophecy
