Wolf yawned as Nayrol swallowed another fish. Her silver Nightmare was starving. He grabbed a bright red fish and chewed slowly. By the time he was finished, a small cloud had slithered over the sun. It was chilly for a second, before the sun poked out again. Nai offered a fat green fish to Wolf, but she turned away.
There was nothing to do. It was boring having a broken leg; no hunting, fighting, flying or playing. Fed up of lying on her bed, Wolf had limped down to the village center, where there was the giant bowl filled to the brim with fish.
Wolf winced as she tried to stand up. Her wooden crutch was just out of her reach. Nai looked at his master. Her leg was bound with cloth and held straight with four iron poles. Nai was bored too. His right wing had bled a few days ago and was strapped to his side with leather, cloth carefully placed over his wound.
The dragon selected a plump silver fish. Where is everybody? he wondered. Quickly throwing the fish in the air, dragon and human waited for someone to come.
