at the dragon healer's house

[Luna Heiler & Ayer]

it was the morning curtis, luna's new friend, curtis wa supposed to come and see her herbs. he kept notebooks of things like maps and stars and he recorded things about herbs, so she had invited him over to see her collection, luna was running around picking things up, her two terrible terrors, Snip and Snatcher and made a mess of the place while she was sleeping. "SNATCHER GET OUT OF THE APPLES!!!" luna yelled just before he had knocked over a whole sack of apples, "great, more mess to pick up" ""snatcher, please go outside and play before curtis gets here! snatcher left and finally luna could fix things without him making more messes and diturbing the sick dragon she had in the back room, a crongle with a bad case of pnemonia. she started picking up herb bundles and tying them back up in the rafters. after she finished that she picked up the apples and then she heard a knock on the door. she went to the door and there was curtis with slity and snatcher not far behind him. "hello!" she said. "i see you found my house!"

Curtis would laugh. "Ya Seem I Have." Curtis would look behind himself at Slity. "Go play with Snatcher Slity" Slity would make a noise as if he was agreeing with Curtis. He would look around and would walk off. Curtis would turn his head back around at Luna and would smile. Curtis would walk into the home and would look around at all the Herbs and other items. "Heh, Nice place you have here." Curtis would look at some of the Herb's up close examining them. "So what are you up to right now?" Curtis would look around the somewhat small home and would wait for Luna to awnser. "Oh ya I found these" Curtis would look through his Bag and would take a handful of multiple seeds handing them to Luna. "These Are Flowers, And Herb seeds from Red Rock, There's alot of diffrent kinds here." Curtis would think for a minute.

Curtis would nod his head "Ya, These should be able to grow easy here. Just plant em and your good." Curtis would smile.

luna took the seeds and thanked him. she walked over to get a small pouch to put them in and plant them later. "so, this it, exept for the back room where i keep dragons overnight, if i need to" as if on cue the crongle on the other room groaned. luna laughed, "thats bumpy, hes got a little pnemonia, poor thing coughed all night" "what kinds of seeds are these, by the way?" she inquired before he could answer, Snip came running in the room making a terrible racket pushing a ball to take outside to play with, she hit everythink possible on the way out. curtis and luna burst out laughing "ya, theres never a boring day around here! especally with my two on the loose.." they smiled at each other "now what kinds of seeds were these?" she asked pencil piosed above the paper pouch ready to write.

Curtis would start to think. "Hmm. Alright, Well the White seeds I belive are herbs, They are suppose to cure just about any Dieses you can think of." Curtis would start to think. "The One's with the steams are suppose to be Flowers. When they are fully growen then petals can be used to cure Headaces." Curtis would look as Slity would fly by the door, He would laugh and then would go on again about the seeds. "The Blue ones are for Joint Pain, The Red ones are for... Ermmm... " Curtis would kinda have a akward face now as he couldn't remember what those seeds are for. "Uhmm... Oh Ah.. They are for Stomach problems I think" Curtis would look around and would take a seat on the ground.

luna was impressed "how do you know so much about healing?" she asked as she walked across the room to get some pillows for them to sit on. before he could answer she tossed him a pillow and asked" would you like some tea? on the way back last night i also found some leaves that make really good tea." he nodded yes and she started to make the tea as she listened to him talk. first she found the bundle with the right leaves, she broke leaves in half and then brought out a pot and drew water to fill it with. then she stoked the fire a little and placed the pot with the water in it on the fire. as it began to boil she brought the put the leaves in, it turned a red-brown color and she brought it off the fire. she poured it into two cups and used a spoon to get the leaves out and then went over to sit down with Curtis. "so, tell me more about where you come from" she said

Curtis would start to think about what he would say. "Well. The docks were always extremely busy with boats coming in and out." Curtis would laugh abit. "The Town hall is at the north end of the town, There's a large fountain in the middle of town." Curtis would mess with his fingers out of boredom as he would talk about home. "My home was Up on a large.." Curtis wasn't sure what to call it exactly. He would think in his head for a minute, "Pillar connected to the towns west side. It was over the ocean. My home was quite large aswell." Curtis would look at Luna and laugh abit. "The building's are all made out of stone for the most part."

Curtis would close his eyes and would shake his head abit. "Well that's basically it." Curtis would think for a second and then would reach into his bag and would pull out a What looked like a Full helmet made out of White Scales. "Heh, Im still working on this. Whenever Slity drops scales I take them an add it to this." Curtis would knock on it afew times. "Even if you swung an Axe at this it would barley take damage." Curtis would hand it to Luna so she could take a closer look at it if she wanted to.

Luna took the helmet the boy had handed her, it was a good piece of workmanship.she knocked her fist on it to test the strength, and was surised at its sturiness.It was smooth and white and round. She turned it over in her hands, looking it over more carefully. She ran her fingers over the surface of it as she said"you know, I collect scales, there always falling off of dragons when They come in, it might me nice to make something from them, what might one use as an adhesive?" he told her about a mixture that he used of tree sap and a little water. Luna would remember that, she often found herself sitting around the house with nothing to do. Now she could make something to pass the time! A loud bout of coughing came from the next room over, reminding Luna of her sick paitient. Luna sighed and said he" probably needs more herbs, I should get him some feverfew and tansy, you won't mind waiting a few minutes will you?" he shook his head no and Luna smiled at him as she handed him back his helmet. She walked over to were she kept her dried herbs and tool some of the two herbs and put it in a mortar with a few drops of water then she took the pestal and began to grind it together. Once she had a good paste she turned around and smiled at Curtis again as she left the room. "just a few minutes" she said

Curtis would take out a Blue covered book and would start to draw the room around him as he would wait for Luna to return. Curtis would get up and would take some of the herbs and look at them carefully. He would take his Plant book out and would start drawing the herbs and plants down that he didn't already have. He would look around again and would walk out the door seeing if Slity was there. He Wasn't. He must of flown off or somthing, Curtis walked back in and would sit down again and would sit down of the floor.

Curtis would put his book away and would doze off waiting for Luna to come back out. He didn't have much to do right now so he just waited.

Luna walked briskly into the other room, where bumpy the gronckle lay coughing up a storm. She went over and knelt down next to the sick dragon and gently pried his loose jaw open to put the herbs on his tongue. She slathered the paste on her fingers and wiped the gooey green stuff on his tongue. He protested to start, but Lunas gentle ways finally got him to swallow the herbs. He made a face at her that clearly said 'that stuff is gross' "it will help you get better, though" she told him. And he rolled over and sighed deeply. "see! You already stopped coughing!" and he made a laughing sound as she scratched his big belly. "now let's see if you'll eat something" she said as she walked over to some fish she had cut up earlier for the dragon. She offered him a piece and he ate it begrudgingly and then he ate a little more. "okay, now you get some rest while you can and snip and snatcher are out of the house." bumpy made a grunting noise in reply and rolled back over. Luna walked back out into the main room and washed her hand off. She turned around and saw Curtis dozing on the floor. She quietly walked over and kneeled down next to him.She sat there for awhile and watched him sleep. He seemed so peaceful. She wished sleep would come to her as easy. She reached out to touch his hair, and then recoiled when he yawned and opened his eyes.

Curtis would sit up and would rub his eyes abit. "Heh. Sorry for dozing off." Curtis would say as he would wake up fully. Curtis would look around "Guess your done back there now?" Curtis would think and would take out the plant book opening it again. "I got all the herbs and stuff." Curtis would show Luna the book with everything in it. After Luna would finish looking through it he would take it back from Luna and would place it back into the bag. Curtis would look over at Luna and smile.

Luna smiled back at him. There was something different about this boy, she just couldnt put her finger on it.... He showed her his drawings, they were very good. If he were ever to take a job in town, he would make a fine mapmaker. But he didn't seem like the type that would ever stay in one place. She liked that about him. "it's fine, I'm sure you're tired from being up so late last night" she replied. Then a bang came from the door. The two looked over at the door, and saw slity's head come up in the window, and then snip and snatcher popped up too. Curtis and Luna laughed and Luna walked over the the door to let them in. They came in loudly "SHHHHHH" bumpy is still sleeping" she said to them. Then they were quieter. "well curtis, before you go, how about you help me plant these seeds before you leave?" he nodded and the two headed out the back door, with the dragons following them. They stepped out the back door into the small garden and cleared a space In the dirt to plant the seeds.

Curtis would take some of the seeds and would put them into the small holes in the ground for them. Must be intersting to do somthing like this every now and then Curtis would think. Curtis would dig afew more small holes and would pop the seeds into them and then push the dirt back over them. Curtis would look around the rest of the garden. "Intersting little garden you have here Luna." Curtis would look at each of the plant's carefully seeing how they looked. He would look around on the clear day day. There wouldn't be alot of clouds today. "The seeds we just planted. They don't need alot of rain like normal ones" Curtis would laugh abit.

Slity would look around and would pop back to Curtis after he found him, He would land behind Curtis Not stepping on anything. Curtis would look around at Slity "Hey Slity". Curtis would look back at Luna. "Well"

"thanks for your help with planting, and for the seeds, I'm sure theyll come in handy" Luna said surveying the garden. "oh! Look at this! My strawberries are ripe! Here, come see- the flowers are so pretty and the berries taste so good" Curtis walked over and looked at the little plant. She handed him a big juicy berry and he bit into it. " do you like it?" he nodded as he took another bite. Luna took some more berries off of the plant ad handed them to him. He ate them. "hey, wait here" Luna said as she turned to go in the house. She went inside and got a burlap pouch and then walked back outside "here, fill this and you can take them, and I'll cut a bit of a stem and you can take it with you and it will grow and then you can have berries at your house." and handed it to him and then went back inside to get a knife to cut him a stem with.

Curtis would take the Knife and would start to cut one of the steams and would put it away. He would collect some of the berries and would put them into the sack. Curtis tie the sack togather and would look at Slity. He would walk over and would put the Bag beside Slity. He would turn around towards Luna. "Thanks for the Berries." Curtis would hop up onto Slity. "Ill Talk to you later Alright." Curtis would look at Slity. "Grab the bag would ya Slity?" Slity would make a ok noise and would grab the bag with his mouth. "Cya!" Curtis would have slity take off back towards the forest.
