Scratchet had a new tactic today - well, it wasn't really a tactic. It was one of those days where the weather is just so perfect, that you want to just lie down on the spot and snooze, basking in the warm sunlight.
That was exactly what Scratchet did.
She was snoozing right at the entrance to the docks, her huge body blocking the access for the Vikings who wished to go fishing. Her fiery orange wings were spread out, soaking in the golden sunlight and warming the reptile's body.
Soon there was a crowd gathering around the oblivious dragon. Seeing the chaos she was causing, she stayed there just to annoy them. This will teach them for not letting her steal that net-full of fish! With a flick of a wing an advancing viking was swept away, preventing a kick in the ribcage.
This was too good.

One lazy yellow eye flicked open at the sound of the familiar voice. Shifting her head a few inches to the right, the human she had made an acquaintance with slipped into view.
"Noah!" She greeted with a rumble. Not wanting to get out the way, she held back from getting up. Nightrode quickly appeared alongside Noah in her field of vision too. "Hey Night!"
With Noah's intrigue, she rolled onto her back, exposing her yellow belly towards the warm rays. "I'm just catching a little sun in this really comfortable spot... She sighted Night again in her upside-down vision, and grinned. She wondered if he would take part in her little bouts of 'fun' again. "Care to join me, Night?" Since they were both reptiles, she was sure he'd understand the pleasure of warming one's blood, and she was also hoping to see if the dragon was willing to disobey his human's orders.
The crowd's grumbles and groans were getting louder now. It almost seemed like Noah was the only one to not have a problem with this dragon's presence in the village. They would have shooed her away with bigger dragons, but they were caught off guard by a fire that had mysteriously started at the other side of the village on an empty old shack.

Scratchet opened her mouth nice and wide to emit a loud "HAH!", if Noah's reaction to Night's addition to the chaos was funny to her if she was lying normally, then his face from her upside-down field of vision was even funnier. She was also amazing how her prediction became correct, too! She kept on giggling as he fled into the crowds, in attempt to disassociate himself from his disobedient dragon.
"Did you see his face! Priceless!" She laughed again, sharing her enthusiasm with Night, kicking her feet in the air. The Vikings were even more annoyed than ever, now that a second dragon had joined her.
She felt his cool skin slide itself amongst her warm hide. He obviously hadn't had the time to warm up enough on this fine day. "What have you been doing to not bask yourself, Night? We rarely get warm days like these around here!" She asked, enjoying the sensation of her cheek being licked. Looking back at the angry crowds, she grinned again. "Well, this is so good, now they have to deal with the two of us! I hope you stay a while." She loved Night's presence, he was just so cool to muck around with.
She rolled back onto her front, as stones were digging into her back, and consequently her pretty scales, and managed to give a warning puff of smoke towards an approaching viking, with slight exaggeration, leaving several vikings coughing at the large puff of smoke emitted.

"I know right? I mean, look at them, they're so much smaller than I am!"
Unfortunately, Scratchet's arrogance got the better of her. A gaggle of Vikings had leapt onto her huge head, making sure her mouth get shut. Eyes wide, her act ceased and she sprung up from her spot, leaving several Viking's legs dangling in the air. The humans were blocking her view of everything else, she dug her claws in the ground, not wanting to step on Night. She shook her head, sending the weaker vikings flying. Less force on her maws allowed her to slowly open her mouth, and emitting a terrifying roar to the onlookers.
Scratchet was annoyed. She had done nothing to provoke them, well, that was what she thought anyway. She was definitely not going to have another broken leg either. Distracted with the Viking hanging from her upper jaw, two vikings tackled her legs, making her fall head first to the ground, wings flapping in distress.
She was in trouble now. The Vikings were really going to move her out the way by out by force. Vikings began to pin themselves from head to toe, avoiding those erect yellow spikes that lined her tail.
She could see a blotch of purple beside her - she was unsure of Night's situation. Maybe Noah would return and clear his name, but Scratchet was a repeat offender.
"Night..." Was all she managed to say, unable to move despite all her struggling, whilst vikings began to restrain her mouth. SHe snorted smoke from her large nostrils, hoping to make vikings go away. It only made it worse.
(OOC: Oh dear, Scratchet never learns does she? XD)

All she could see were lots of Viking legs, both wooden and flesh. She was just about to give in, being unable to move, when Night's mighty roar cried out through the human shouts. Legs and torsos were replaced with purple and blue scales. Restraints were whipped off and Scratchet slowly got up, watching Night keep the vikings at bay.
Scratchet grunted in agreement, and spread her wings, preparing for take off. She realised she had gone a little too far over the line, and she feared if they stayed here any longer the butcher would have fresh stock to last for months. "Do you have any place in mind where we can lay low?" She asked, getting a flow of air underneath her.

Scratchet followed Night desperately, intent on getting away from the village and those vikings. The nerve of them! Once landed into the thicket of the forest she returned the nuzzle.
"Thank you Night, you really saved my ass out there. I guess I was a little quick to say I was better than them huh?"
Exhaustion slowly began to replace the adrenaline pumping through her body. She slowly sunk down onto the forest floor, Night's comforting body at her side. Her breathing soon got slower, as she just lay there, regaining her energy.
"You were amazing." She was so tired she didn't even have the energy to preen herself, feeling the broken and out-of-place scales on her body from where she had rolled on her back earlier. Her personality didn't want her to say it, but she really felt in debt to Night, and she knew she would do whatever it takes to repay him for it.

Scratchet crooned in pleasure as Night seemed to had almost read her mind and started to preen her. She was happy to hear Night still thought she was better, despite being the second time she's lost to the village. At least she didn't break any bones this time.
The kiss shocked her, though. Thinking back, she was beginning to remember the tell-tale signs the Night was showing of his affection for her. At the time she was too busy gloating in the faces of the Vikings, or struggling to get free from them. His tail curling around hers, the cheek-licking, the roar of 'Off of her, she's mine!'... it all made sense.
"Night..." Thinking about it, she guessed she did have some feelings for Night. Whenever he was around, everything seemed even more fun that standard, he always looked out for her and they always had a good laugh. "Mmm, Night... She proceeded to nuzzle him to bits in delight. If this was the way she was going to repay him, then this was perfectly fine by her.

(OOC: I don't think Scratchet's mouth shape will allow for kissing lol, so i think she's just gonna stay with licks and nuzzles)
Scratchet shifted herself to a more comfortable position, sinking deeper into the leathery folds of the dragon's wing. This time her tail curled around his, making sure her spikes remained flat as to not cause harm. She felt his colder purple cheek against her large creamy one. Watching him close his eyes, she smiled at him, and listened to his confession which quickly turned into a mumble. Her smile quickly widened once again at the magic words.
She knew those words were coming, but she had no idea how to respond. Maybe she should say that she loved him back? She could tell she loved him as her insides had quickly melted, and an even warmer sensation than the blood pulsing through her veins announced her feelings. She decided to tell him through her actions instead.
She nudged his head even more, making his head turn to the side. Nuzzling his open neck, her turquoise snout rubbed against something hard and out of place. Twisting her head to the side she saw it - a damaged scale. Scratchet immediately began to tend to it, ignoring the fatigue that wished to consume her.
"There you go, you missed a spot." She told him sweetly, licking the place on his neck where she had found the atrocity. "Now you look all pretty again!"
She really hoped she got the message across. Fearing the worst, she added in: "Yeah, I think I love you too."
