DATE & TIME : May 12nd, Noon WEATHER CONDITIONS : Slight drizzle, approaching thunderstorm CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Arnorda/Darkness, Virtigo, Elise PREVIOUS THREADS ? N/A
A dark shape slithered through the sky, like a snake on water, but with wings. Arnorda, forgetting to get some sort of rain cover, sat upon Darkness' back, shivering. The cold rain was a slight change from the sunlight that has been showing over the week. Darkness tilted his head back. "Were almost there." He told her in almost clear English. She had taught him well.
As he became closer to the ground, it became a bit warmer than up in the air. Darkness stopped on the wet grass, sliding a bit while digging his three clawed wings into the soft soil. They were in a field, the wildflowers still bloomed in the slight drizzle. A crack of thunder could be heard in the distance, along with a streak of lightning that lit up some of the sky.
Arnorda leaped off Darkness' back, rubbing under his spike covered chin. She was careful about not stabbing herself on the spikes, knowing how dangerous the Whispering Death's spikes where, along with his teeth. Rows upon rows of sharp, swirling teeth. Darkness made a low grumbling noise in his chest, showing that he liked the scratching.
A deer leaped out of the brush and into the field, grazing on the grass, unaware of the dragon and the human. Darkness turned his head, giving a questioning look to his rider. Arnorda nodded and told him he could go. Like a bolt of the lightning above, he shot off after the deer. It turned and ran back into the forest, Darkness following right behind. And Arnorda was left alone in the field.
------
As Darkness slithered through the forest, his prey ahead of him, he used his three clawed wings to push tree's out of the way. The deer was kicking up mud and leaves, but it didnt faze him. He snapped at its tail, thousands of teeth swirling inside his open mouth, awaiting his soon to be meal.
The deer made a sharp turn that Darkness did not expect, slamming into a huge tree before continuing his chase. With a swipe of a clawed wing, he grabbed the deer and held it there. Slowly he went back towards his rider, slithering through the forest with no worries.

Virtigo stared up at the darking sky, hazel eyes unblinking even as rain drops fell. Sighing, he picked up his basket and started walking to a clearing to gather herbs and flowers that he had found useful.
Though he didn't like going to far away from the cave and clearing he made his home, Virtigo had to leave to hunt and gather herbs and the like when they started to go down.
Let's hope none of those vikings appeared around here. So scary. A shiver of fear wormed its way down his spine at the thought of meeting one.
A rumbling noise echoed around the dark forest, causing the outcast to look up to see a snake like shadow slither through the trees only a few feet away.
"Dragon." As much as Virtigo wanted to follow it, he didn't. Not knowing how it would react to him like the few he's seen.
Heaving a sigh and shaking his head, burgundy hair sticking to his forehead, he continued to walk. Unknowing of what lay ahead in the clearing.

Arnorda lied in the field, the long grass swaying in the light breeze. Rain fell on her face, cold and refreshing drops of water. Thunder boomed, closer now, strikes of lightning sparking close to the village. The storm was approaching fast, faster than it had been moments before. The rain became heavier and faster than the little dizzle.
She sat up, staring into the forest, awaiting the return of her dragon. Darkness.... Where are you...? She thought, her eyes filling with worry now. He had been gone for ten minutes. That deer stood no chance against him, but it was taking longer than expected. She heard a rustle in the brush behind her, turning around to see who or what it was walking through the forest. But who she was expecting was not there.
------
Darkness slithered along at a reasonable pace, bending tree's over to let himself pass through the dense forest. It was becoming darker and the rain began to pour more steadily now, becoming more of a storm now. He picked up the pace, the deer still in his claws and kicking. He didn't notice its weak struggling, but continued along his pace. He spotted someone on his way by, heading towards the same clearing he was. It smelt like an outsider, so he continued past the human.
(Bit short :C)

Rain; was there really anything better in the world than that? With her spines flattened against her scales and a purr-like growl rumbling in her throat, Elise lazily flew only a few feet above the woods that was laid out beneath her. Now, the Deadly Nadder really wasn't one who liked to venture far from her nest and feeding grounds, always needing to be close to the viking village for her food supply, but today, she had little to no worry about that. The moment her dark golden-orange eyes spotted the dark, thundering clouds, she took of to enjoy the thing she loved the most. The feeling of the soft, cool water gently running over her scales was a feeling and sensation that could never get old. The sounds, the smells, everything did nothing but help relax the young, playful female Nadder.
Unfortunately, that pleasant moment was cut to an abrupt end as the crumbling sounds of fallen trees beneath her startled the dragon. Harshly hissing at the unexpected interruption, Elise lost her sense of balance and control for that brief moment, but it cost her everything as she tumbled down to the soft earth beneath her. Struggling to regain her balance, she managed to grab a hold of her control, but not soon enough. Roughly and clumsily landing on the ground, she let out a faint screech as the base of her right wing came into contact with the end of a fallen log, deeply bruising the muscle. But, that wasn't what angered her. Baring her sharp fangs, Elise's spines shot up as she looked over her dirtied body, having mud smeared over her deep green scales.
Narrowing her eyes, the Deadly Nadder swung her head around as she became determined to find the one that had startled her so and caused this all. Causing her to lose her balance; not too much of a deal. Bruising her wing; it was irritating. But, splattering her glistening pelt; oh, they were not going to get away with that. Assuming she hadn't fallen too far from the commotion, Elise quickly wove through the trees, hoping her guess on direction was right. If not, then hopefully she would reach some kind of opening in the tree line that would allow her to take to the air once more. Well...as long as her bruised wing wasn't horribly painful.

The shadow passed by him again, heading in the direction it came. I wonder if I'll get the chance to see it. A view of a fuzzed out dragon appeared in Virtigo's eyes, but was gone as lightning exploded over head. Water pouring down heavier, even through the trees over head.
The booming thunder caused him to jump and barely hear the sound of something crashing close by. Not wanting to be out longer then he had to, Virtigo decided it be best to pick up his pace as get what he needed and hole himself inside his home.
By the time he made it close enough to spot the opening to the clearing, he was soaked, even the leather around his hips was dragging from the pouring rain.
The lightning flashed again, a green form appearing through the trees caused Virtigo to stumble and fall, mud coating his front from the shock of seeing the outline of another dragon, one that was close enough for the color to be visible.
Hazel eyes were wide as Virtigo shook, in fear or cold he couldn't tell, but the fact that two dragons were close by was something frightening in its own right. Hopefully if they fought he didn't get in the middle of it.

Arnorda heard something splash right beside her. Looking down, she saw a man, covered in mud and facing the other way. She screamed, knowing he was an outsider, and a possible hater of vikings. She slid backwards in the mud, also getting herself coated with the sticky substance. She reached for her sword that was not there. She was doomed. The man was either going to kill her or beat her, if her dragon did not come back sooner.
-------
Darkness heard a crash close to him, seeing a green flash and a bird like screech. Turning his massive head in that direction, splintering tree's and branches in the process, he spotted an injured Nadder squabbling in the mud near a tree he knocked down. He had to help it.
Darkness came closer, sliding around in the mud too. Thunder boomed overhead, the rain falling heavier than ever. Lightning lit up the forest like the sun, bright and blinding. He dropped the now injured deer beside the Nadder, and slithered towards the clearing.

Hearing a scream, Virtigo snapped his head over and his eyes widened at the sight of a viking. He screamed as well and scrambled back against a tree. The destroyed basket being held up as a lame shield.
Why did it have to be a viking he met and not a dragon? He could deal with dragons, even though he has only seen them from far away, he was willing to fight one but not a viking, they could easily over take him with little effort.

Darkness spotted a young male human, pinning himself to a tree. He also spotted Arnorda, trembling in the muddy field staring at him. Darkness felt rage build inside him, but knowing he could not roar like any other dragon, only hiss in a whisper, he slithered towards the tree the man.
Wrapping his long tail around the tree and ripping it out from the ground, he sat there behind Virtigo, his nose touching the small of the humans back. A low hiss came from deep within his chest, building intensity with every second. With his claws on the ground, digging into the soft soil he waited for the human to turn around.
------
Arnorda wallowed in the mud, slipping and sliding around like a fish out of water. She kept her eyes on the man, also a bit confused when he had screamed also. She spotted huge yellow eyes behind the man, the tree he was leaning against ripped from the ground. Darkness! She thought fast. Her dragon stood behind the man, huge compared to him.

Eyes widening as the massive head of a dragon swung towards her, Elise slid to a stop, always growing nervous around larger dragons since her strength to fight was close to pathetic. It took her a moment though for the thought to finally click in. This was the one who had startled her out of the sky. As the male reptilian slunk closer, the Nadder couldn't help but growl, her spines along her tail flaring up as she arched her back, hissing. How dare this male make such a fool out of her and stain her beautifully colored scales? But, what occurred next caught her by surprise. Having expected to put up some kind of fight or something, she jumped when the great serpent-like dragon dropped a deer at her feet. Blinking, she stared at the creature as it struggled to cling onto its life, but its strength was no doubt leaving it as it bled.
After a few moments, her brilliant golden-Orange eyes darted up to look back at the dragon only to find it slithering away. 'What?! He dares to turn his back on me?!', she spat in her mind, her anger now boiling her blood as she shook herself, her spines fanning out as she opened her wings slightly, trying to make herself look bigger, though the pain of her shoulder muscle stopped her. Oh, he was going to get what he deserved. Letting out an anger screech, Elise darted forward into the clearing that he had slunk away to, but what she saw froze her in her tracks. Humans. Two of them. This male had led her straight to humans, the beings things she always tried to avoid in fear that they would take her in the clutches like others of her kind.

The feeling of the tree behind him being removed froze him. Then came a pressure in the small of his back before a strange hissing noise sounded. Virtigo was afraid to move, knowing that what ever was behind him was large and could easily kill him.
His eyes strayed to the viking, seeing that she was glad for whatever had appeared to be there. Swalllowing thickly he prepared to turn until something else caught his eye through the pouring rain. Golden-orange hued eyes and green scales, another dragon, smaller but a dragon none-the-less.
Taking a deep breath, Virtigo turned around.

Darkness was sitting there, back arched and with clawed wings on the ground. He didnt have his mouth open, but with all the spikes around his jaw and the teeth that stuck out the human could probably guess what Darkness had in store in use of weapons. He breathed out, when something flashed in the corner of his vision. The same Nadder, who looked like someone stepped on it when it was in a puddle. It didnt look very happy.
------
Arnorda saw a flash of something, then spotted a Deadly nadder, who was covered in mud. It was bristling and spiking out its tail, seriously angry at something. She screamed again, she cupped her hands over her open mouth. She was terrified of Nadders. Deathly scared of them some would say. She fumbled around in the mud, trying to hide.

Huge yellow eyes were the first thing Virtigo noticed of the dragon, the claws on it's wings digging into the dirt. What dragon it was he couldn't tell, never being introduced to the different species that made their homes here.
The teeth and spikes looked deadly but if anything happened he had his knives to at least block most of the damage they would cause upon him.
His hand clenched onto the wooden basket, and without realizing what he was doing, swung it to hit the dragons head, before bolting. The mud caused him to slip as he got up but when he did, he raced to where the only place not occupied.
If he had been looking to where he was running or could see past the pouring ran, Virtigo could have avoided the collision with someone.

Beow trudged through the forest. Why did he always have to have such bad luck? He and Calypso had been having a wonderul fly today, they hadn't had one so good in a long time. The wind had been awesome! So gusty and going in just the right direction! Calypso had been awesome too, going crazy with tricks, flips and turns, just how he liked. It had been a virtually perfect day until the rain had to start. He loathed the rain, it was such a killjoy- dragons could fly when it was raining. He glared up at the sky, as if it would do any good. He had gotten off of calypso to walk, for some reason she kept dumping him off when he tried to ride on her back while she walked, which was weird because they did that all the time. So Beow was muddy now from being dropped in the mud repeatedly, and it wasnt feeling too good, he felt so grimy and dirty. He guessed that was what he got for riding an untamed and barely trained dragon. He glances back at her as she came along behind. She was such a strange dragon, that must be why they got along so well.
The young man continued to male his way through the forest, back to his home, which was unfortunately halfway across the island from where calypso had landed. The mud and sludge squished around his toes. His feet were cold from it, but he had learned to ignore it. Not wearing those ridiculous boots as he had in his childhood were good in most ways, but bad in others. The pros certainly outweighed the cons though. Shoes were just stupid and no one could make him wear them- nope, not any more.
He walked along a bit longer, muttering curses at the rain and kicking mud around, just not in a great mood. He heard some roars and screams up ahead. He wondered what the hell they were coming from, but he wasn't in a curious mood so he turned a bit so he hopefully wouldnt have to deal with it. His mistake. A few moments later some bumbling fool ran right into him. Not expecting it, Beow fell down, his head landing in a particularly wet and muddy spot, completly missing his unruly wavy auburn hair. He yelled defensively at the form that had collided with him. He shot up and looked the stranger in the eye with a rather irksome expression, waiting for an explanation. He heard a growl from calypso behind him, Beow held up his staff at her, signaling her not to attack.
But Calypso was more a wild dragon than a tamed. She typacly obeyed Beow but not always. She angrily flicked her 3 tendriled tail back and forth and glared at the newcoming human, not planning on attacking just sizing the human up and attempting to intimidate.

With her fangs still bared, Elise trembled slightly at the sight of the humans. Yes, she may have been curious and highly interested in their behavior, but she hardly ever wanted to meet them in person. What if they managed to take her into possession like they had with the other dragons? What if they forced her to give up her freedom?! Unfurling her wings, Elise stared with wide eyes at the female viking in the middle of the clearing, her claws digging into the ground. No, she couldn't lose her cool in a time like this. As long as she stayed away from them, they had no power over her right? She was here to give that careless dragon a piece of her mind...Though perhaps she could let this one go if the male reptilian was with the human.
She honestly wasn't quiet sure if she wanted to start up a fight with him now, knowing now exactly how big he was and the fact that he seemed to be with a human. Nervously shifting her weight from foot to foot, Elise gave out a weak sort of roar, though it was more of a reassuring thing for her. She gradually turned her gaze to the Whispering Death that rested at the edge of the clearing not to far from her. "...You! Do you...Do you really think you could get away with this?", she hissed at him, though her eyes continued to dart to the young female human, watching her carefully.

Darkness felt the weaved basket slam into his head. Snarling, he gave chase to the human male, completely ignoring the fact that the Nadder was talking to him. When the human male collided with another male, he swerved to avoid them.
He hissed and bared his teeth at the galewing, and the two human males. His huge yellow eyes were focused on Virtigo, not paying attention to the other two creatures beside him. His mouth opened, revealing thousands of rotating teeth, along with a deep growl that came deep in his chest cavity.
-------
Arnorda spotted the Nadder looking at her, which made her even more terrified. She slid backwards in the mud. A huge crack of thunder rolled overhead, followed by a streak of lightning that lit up the entire field. The rain howled with the wind, Arnorda's now soaked clothes making her freezing now.
She watched Darkness. He was now threatening the human male that scared her. Standing up in the mud, she began to walk towards them in a slight daze. The thunder boomed overhead. Unaware that the Nadder was right infront of her, she still continued to walk.
