DATE & TIME : 16/5 Evening WEATHER CONDITIONS : Relatively clear with a few scattered clouds, but beginning to grow dark. CHARACTERS INVOLVED : Stormy, Ingrid, Montore, and whoever else steps in. PREVIOUS THREADS ? DREAMING ON A WHIM {(AND I DON'T WANT)} the world to see me Glancing around the village, Ingrid gazed back at the two dragons that now accompanied her. Montore was at her side, avoid her gaze for the time being as the Galewing behind them still remained to irritate him and fill him with jealousy. Gently running her hand over his back and shoulders, the girl smiled up at him, hoping he wasn't too upset. But, that issue could be dealt with later, seeing as they had a bit of a bigger issue to worry about. The young viking knew well enough that the wild dragon was nervous around humans -- she was still surprised that the feral reptilian was so trusting of her -- and being around a large number of them would no doubt be a bad idea.
Biting her lip, she continued to hold her wounded hand at her side, having wrapped the cut with a piece of cloth she had torn from the edge of her shirt. The center of the cloth was red with blood now, her wound just barely halting its seemingly non-stop run of blood. "...Maybe this wasn't such a great idea..."
, she mumbled to herself, nervously biting the inside of her cheek. She really hadn't thought this completely through and how she was going to house the large reptilian had obviously been one of her weak points. She suddenly felt a nudge on her shoulder, looking up to see Montore gently nuzzling her as a sort of reassuring gesture. "Umm...would you prefer to stay out of the village, or...?", She started, turning to the black and violet pelted dragon behind her, speaking softly and in the reptilian's native language. She didn't want to force anything onto the female or make her uncomfortable, and she would do what she could to make her as comfortable as possible as she cared for her. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Of all the things Ingrid had ever done, Montore was sure this was the most reckless thing of all. Bringing a wild, untrusting dragon to the village had never been a good idea and he doubted many of the villagers would be happy with that. Yes, the humans may have been great friends with the reptilians, but that didn't mean they wanted a dragon amongst them that could possibly turn on them all and wreck the village. Snorting faintly, he watched his rider as she seemed to be thinking. Tilting his head to the side, the Ambassador couldn't help but wonder what it was she was pondering over. Lowering his head down to her height, he gently nudged her should with his beak, faintly creating a clicking noise as he expressed his affection to her. She could hear her mumbling to herself, but remained silent, though it would've been the perfect time to say 'I told you so'. Storm felt unease flutter in her stomach, making her very nervous. She held onto her control and followed behind Ingrid, her ever watching eyes glancing from side to side. She swallowed back the bile that rose in her throat, burning it intensely. It hurt. Her injured wing was curled around her sleek body, loose and painful every movement. Her other wing was neatly pressed against her body in a normal position.
She suddenly heard the girl speak. The question made her nervous. Should they go into the village, and risk her tearing apart vikings that got to close or made her angry? Or stay out in the forest, with the clouds growing darker? Storm could smell the rain and feel the humidity in the air. She had a good reason for her name. Hatched in a storm. Ever since she can feel when a storm is coming. Just by the scent and humidity, and sometimes even feel the electricity in the air.
She pondered the question, unsure on how to answer it. " Well, we could go into the village. I sense a storm approaching, so it would be best to be indoors. Only problem is...." She turned her head towards her large body, "Is how large I am. So, it would mostly be up to you to decide." She replied. Her claws shuffled under her, re-positioning into a new, more comfortable position.
Her eyes glanced up towards the village ahead, that milled around with other viking humans. Her eye caught a glance of some sheep, grazing on the grass in their pen. She also felt eyes looking at her, and she shuffled slightly again. A nadder was looking at her, its yellow eyes narrowed and suspicious. Probably because she smelled of the forest. And of blood.
She nudged Ingrid's arm, completely ignoring the fact that Montore did it too, and looked over her. She felt so large compared to the girl, her head half as big as the girls body. So small and delicate. Kind of like a Terrible Terror. She picked on those things a lot. They were very annoying and always nibbling her tail.

{(AND I DON'T WANT)} the world to see me The size...right. Ingrid had partially forgotten about that part of the issue along with the number of other things that were presenting themselves. All she wanted to do was to help, but it just started to seem like a trouble to most everyone. Feeling the nudge on her shoulder again, she ignored it for a moment, assuming it was Montore again until she spotted him unmoving in the corner of her eye. Blinking, she was once again surprised by the wild dragon's behavior and trust towards her, bringing out a smile onto her lips. Gently bringing her hand up, she loosely wrapped her arm around the underside of the female's great muzzle, her fingers lightly brushing over her scales.
"Well...I'm sure we can find a place for you. I don't want you to be left out here in the cold, alone."
, she said, gently hugging the great beast as a sign of affection and reassurance. The short-haired viking had promised to care for the reptilian, and she wasn't going to let her just stay out in the cold. It was just plain rude to do so, and she hated the idea of leaving her out like that. But, it was a bit of a difficult thing to find a place where she could keep the large creature. Usually, the biggest dragon that pretty much had was a Monstrous Nightmare, and while they were pretty big, she was sure there wasn't any space for the Galewing. She wasn't actually sure how big the female dragon was, but she seemed to be bigger than the Monstrous Nightmare and she really didn't want to risk breaking down a house or shed to find out. That was when an idea came into mind. "Monty, you don't think she could fit in the gathering hall, do you?", she asked, positive that there was enough space there. If the entire village could manage to fit in there, then there should be more than enough room for the injured reptilian. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~ Watching the female come up behind him, it was hard for Montore not to give a faint growl as she mimicked practically the same exact gesture he had performed not even five minutes ago. The Galewing was beginning to really get on his nerves and was truly testing his jealousy, which seemed to be horribly failing at the moment. The idea of the dragon becoming so close to his best friend was aggravating him more than anyone could imagine. It was odd for him, though, to be so irritated, usually being a calm creature. And, at that point, he really wasn't sure which one he was actually mad it; being so close to Ingrid, or bringing out the worse of him. Pawing at the moist ground beneath him, his short claws making small groves in the earth, the Ambassador's scales faintly stood out once more. Montore's crest scale twitched faintly as he caught the young girl's voice, turning his violet eyes towards her as he considered her idea. "...Perhaps...but, there's always the risk of someone walking in on her.", he growled faintly, narrowing his eyes slightly at the Galewing. He didn't trust her, and it was obvious. Montore didn't like the idea of risking the health and safety of the villagers, and keeping this wild creature in the gathering hall where people passed through constantly sounded like anything but a good idea. Storm heard the Ambassador speak up. Her head tilted to look at him. She could sense the aggravation and tension between the two of them. She was positive the other dragon did not like her. It was super obvious. Even a blind dragon could sense that. Her claws dug into the soil like sand, her muscles tense. She knew that if some human walked in on her in the Gathering Hall while she was sleeping, they wouldn't be around long. When just waking up and sensing something unfamiliar, she tends to snap out and lash out.
The Gathering Hall, for what she knew, was large enough to probably hold her. It was spaced out. Her wings shuffled painfully, making her face twist with pain. The girl's hug was comforting and felt warm to her. She had never felt that way before. The scent of blood was still floating in the air, but she ignored it as it floated around her nostrils. They flared and cold air shot outwards in a heavy sigh.
Storm felt the wind pick up, and she moved her wing in front of her and Ingrid. She did produce some body heat, but not like most other dragons. Most that shoot fire have molten rock in their stomach's to fuel their fire. She doesn't, so she is is sort of cold like other reptiles. She blocked the strengthening wind with her good wing and kept her head down close to the girl. Her eyes stayed open, awaiting the final decision.

{(AND I DON'T WANT)} the world to see me Biting her lip, Ingrid pondered on that issue, becoming quite irritated with the number of problems that kept on rising up. With her eyes on the ground, her hand absentmindedly brushed up and down along Storm's muzzle, shivering faintly as the temperature continued to drop, and the wind wasn't helping. Holding the Galewing's muzzle closer to her out of reaction to search for any nearby warmth, she didn't notice the abrupt stop to the wind that had previously been blowing over her thin, chilled skin until she realized that the grass at her feet had stilled from their previous motions.
Pulling her gaze off of the ground, she stared at the violet membrane that blocked both her view and the wind. "...Thank you, Storm."
, she said with a smile as she turned her brown eyes to the sharp violet ones that the reptilian held. Resting her cheek against the cool, smooth scales of the female's head, the young viking sighed as an idea began forming in her mind. Smiling, she abruptly pulled away as the idea came together finally. "Yes, you're right, Monty. But, we can at least keep her in there for tonight. And, to make sure no one surprises her, we'll sleep with her tonight.", she concluded, finding the plan to be ingenious enough to work. Stepping forward a bit, she turned to the two dragons before speaking again in their native tongue to make it easier for them both to understand them. "Come on, it'll work out fine. And, we have most of the supplies there so I can help you wing.", she added with a smile to Storm, her excitement of coming up with such a plan gleaming in her eyes. ~.~.~.~.~.~.~ If he hadn't been so focused on the safety and protection of his rider, Montore would've no doubt flown off by now. The affection the new friends continued to show was only worsening his jealousy and practically making him sick. Snorting with anger, the Ambassador turned his head away and stepped away from the two, his usually soft, violet eyes becoming hard and cold. He knew that Ingrid was only a human, but even she couldn't be blind to the hurt she was inflicting onto him, could she? Ruffling his scales and leaving some to continue to stand on end, the male's head snapped around as the short-haired viking stated her plan. "Are you serious? Sleep with that thing?!", he hissed, his crest scales fanning out slightly as he puffed out his chest. First, the girl had allowed an untamed creature to earn her trust and affection, then she was careless enough to actually bring her into the village. But, now, she was actually going to sleep with the creature! He wasn't sure what it was that angered him; the idea of his best friend and rider sleeping with another dragon, or the danger that the foolish human was putting herself into. The dragon had already admitted that she wasn't completely comfortable with humans, and if some large viking suddenly came bursting into the hall, he had no doubt in his mind that the Galewing would let her instincts go and hurt both the viking and Ingrid Shaking his head, Montore stamped at the earth beneath him with anger, hissing at the two of them. "You know what? Fine, go ahead and sped your time with this feral beast. Don't worry about me and my concerns.", he spat before his tensed muscles launched himself into the air as he angrily flew off into the night. Storm froze when she heard the tension snap. Montore burst out in pure rage and anger. She did nothing to harm him, although she wasn't very happy the way he always acted around her. She knew that they could never like each other, and will probably always hate each other greatly.
Her eyes focused on Ingrid's brown ones, and she smiled too. The warm embrace of the girl was soothing, and her idea amazing. If Ingrid were to stay in the gathering hall, Storm would probably stay calm. And all the supplies were in there, according to Ingrid. She moved her wing, and the wind blasted her in the face. She growled slightly, focusing the wind around herself to slow. It began to make a bubble around her and Ingrid, the wind blasting around their invisible shield. She was proud of herself now, having been unable to do it before.
"Lead the way." She replied in fluent english, which also amazed herself. She had never been able to say it that fluently, but she smiled on the inside. The clouds were menacingly close now, dark and carrying their heavy load.

{(AND I DON'T WANT)} the world to see me Feeling hurt didn't even begin to explain Ingrid's damaged emotions as her best friend suddenly snapped at her, his voice having her flinch back faintly. She had never heard him speak to her in such a harsh tone and it lashed out at her emotions like a physical swipe of his claws. Lowering her eyes to the ground, the short-haired viking forced down the lump in her throat as her grip around Stormy's muzzle, searching for a sense of comfort from the female reptilian. She didn't watch as the Ambassador took off, only listening to the beat of his wings until she could no longer hear him. Taking in a deep but shaky breath, the dragon-lover forced a smile onto her face as she looked at the Galewing.
"Come on...the hall is this way."
, she said quietly, starting her way around the edge of the village, hoping this would make it easier for the reptilian to move. She hardly said anything on their way to the hall, though, her thoughts revolving around her dragon companion. She had never thought that he would ever act that way towards anyone else. He was always so kind and loving towards others, so why he had suddenly lashed out was beyond her. Biting her lip, the pain used to drag her back down to reality, Ingrid was surprised by how close they had gotten by then, but she wasn't going to complain seeing as the clouds overhead were becoming fierce looking. The wind continued to howl and roar in her ears, sending long shivers and shakes through her thin body. Using what little strength she did have, she pushed open the large, wooden doors that led to the large hall, happy to see it empty. "O-Okay...we-we're here.", she spoke through chattering teeth, wishing she had worn something warmer to accommodate for the harsh weather that was rolling in. Storm felt the vikings feelings and shattered emotions by the touch of her hand. Storm felt bad now, being impathic towards other creatures, especially humans. The girls emotions flew around Storms head, and she sighed inwardly at herself as she followed her into the hall.
When her and Ingrid walked into the hall, she sighed as Storm finally left the cold outside world. It was strange. The smell of humans was everywhere, and it was obvious to any creature that humans live here. Her claws tapped against the hard flooring and she looked down in curiosity. It didnt sound like rock, but like hollow wood.
Storm had the urge to follow after Montore, pin him down and drag him back. But it would hurt Ingrid even more. Maybe at night she would, but her wing prevented her to even get off the ground.

{(AND I DON'T WANT)} the world to see me More than happy to be in the sheltered hall, away from the blasting wind, Ingrid quickly rubbed her arms loosely up and down her arms, hoping to bring some warmth to her chilled body. With her small shoed feet tapping against the wooden panels that rested beneath them, she felt a shiver shooting down her spine at the eerie sound the Galewing's claws made as they struck the floor. It sounded so heavy and dull, the wood creaking and moaning beneath the female's weight, giving the feeling of some haunted or cursed place that was filled with spirits like stories she had been told as a young girl. Swallowing hard as she shook her mind loose from the chilling thoughts, the short-haired girl stepped towards the center of the room where the fire pit rested.
The embers were still warm, but the main fire was dying. But, it was to be expected seeing as no one actually stayed there at night. Hurrying over to the pit, the young teen pulled some pieces of wood from the box that was against the side of the wall and hauled them over to the pit, tossing them in. No, Stormy probably wouldn't have actually minded the slight cold, seeing as she probably dealt with this on a daily basis, but she, being a human who had clothing and fires to keep her warm, wasn't accustomed to it at all. Not to mention, she wasn't really a fan of the cold, always preferring the heat of a fire. Standing close to the small flame she managed to bring back to life, she stood, shivering and waiting for the dancing, flickering flames to warm her blood and skin.
Taking in a deep breath, Ingrid eventually turned back to the black and violet pelted reptilian, a smile wide on her face. "Okay, why don't we take a look at your wing a bit closer, yeah?"
, she suggested, wanting to know exactly where the wing was damaged and to see just what she would need to treat the injury. Storm looked at the pitiful fire and let out a small breath of air. The extra oxygen kicked the flames back to life and they burned brightly. The warmth felt good on her cold scales. A feeling she would rarely get unless she was fighting a fire breathing dragon. That is the kind of warmth she sometimes gets. Lucky them. Nadders, Nightmares, Terrors, all breathed fire and were the center of warmth. Her cold body that dealt with the air was cold and harsh, unable to give warmth to their riders.
Her vision turned towards Ingrid, who shivered near the fire now. Warm blooded creature that had most of the luxury of life. Warm, thick coats of pelt from animals, and the fact they have warm blood makes them lucky. Storm sighed and let her head slope in a semi circle on the ground. She was dosing off until Ingrid broke her train of thought. She wanted to look at her wing.
Obeying on command, she shifted her body into a half circle around Ingrid, her damaged wing in the middle. It was swollen and bruised, even under her black scales, the outline of red was not hard to see. Storm did slam full speed into a mountain. Her shoulder blade felt out of place somehow, uncomfortable and painful. But she knew she pulled something, twisted it out of place somehow. Dislocated joints hurt, shoving them back into place with a huge rock hurts most of the time.
Her eyes stared at Ingrid, not pressuring, but inviting and warm. Her claws tapped against the hardwood flooring as she re-positioned her claws to be crossed. Her tail was close by the fire pit, curled in a swirl.

{(AND I DON'T WANT)} the world to see me "...Okay, this might hurt."
, she warned as she stepped a bit closer to the Galewing. Even though she wanted to help the dragon, she was afraid of how the reptilian might react when she touched the wounded wing. She knew how animals could possibly behave in this kind of situation. Wounded animals, depending on the severity and the stress on the animal, they could become extremely defensive and aggressive. Tensing faintly, Ingrid hesitated as she found her train of thought returning to the memory she found a bird out in the woods. It had been a white and brown speckled sparrow. Its wing had been shattered and she had found it at the edge of a small stream beside a fallen log. She had been much younger than, about a good age of seven and she had known little about wild animals. The only thing she could think of at that time was that the little creature had needed help. She hadn't thought of the dangers that could've been present. Going to pick it up, she learned just how animals reacted to such a gesture. The bird had been obviously scared and it quickly became aggressive as the young viking came close. It had pecked, scratched, and screeched at her, chasing her away quickly with a number of fresh wounds littering her hands. Blinking as she shook the image from her mind, Ingrid wished she hadn't thought of that. Swallowing hard, she forced her smile back onto her face, nervously stepping closer as she started talking quietly to her. "..It'll be okay. I'm just gonna take a little peek, okay? ...Just a little touch.", she said softly, stretching her hand out to gently run her hand over the wounded joint, wanting to see the full extent of the damage. Storm nodded and stretched her wing out painfully and turned her head away. She grinded her teeth together in waiting, holding her instincts down so she wouldnt snap out at Ingrid. That would hurt Storm too. As her wing extended to almost full length, close to the ground. Her claws scrapped against the wood panels.
Her purple eyes turned darker than normal, her head rushing with unfamiliar places that she could not remember being at. They swirled in her mind, raging oceans, dark eyes and snapping jaws. A creature larger than her rose in her ocean of thoughts, eyes demonic, jaws gaped. A hot wind washed over her figurative self. The memories swirled around her. Opening her eyes, she found herself staring at the fire, teeth aching from her grinding them.
