You have a piece of string, one end represents your date of birth, the other end represents your date of death and every point in between is...well, the relative points of your live inbetween. Connecting the two ends together will, in effect, form a loop. The looped string is then scrunched up in your hand and various parts of the piece of string will inevitably intersect and touch each other. By leaping at the intersections to a different section of the string, you can travel to a different date within your own lifetime.
For those that recognised that speech slightly, it’s the rough summary on how leaping works in the early 90’s American show ‘Quantum Leap’. The reason I mentioned it because...well, it’s how I feel on this site. But unlike Sam Beckett, who could learn from Al when and where he is, the best I can surmise is that the story is set sometime between my character’s birth and the dawn of June the sixth (which, while neither Kenna’s nor Ari’s death day, until our war threads continue enough, we might as well count it as an impassable wall that can’t be reached until we get to it).
Other than those two points, I have no clue when I am without using other threads as relative time posts. For instance, I know ‘Ore Struck’ is 5 days to a week before ‘Intensive Care’, and I know that that’s some time before ‘Oiling the Cogs’. But I can’t date them because I can’t compare them to 6/6, being the only active thread which is dated.
I don’t mind massively, it’s just annoying trying to work out what’s happened or what my character technecly shouldn’t know yet (since I’m in four threads now, each with different about of things having happened). The only reason I’m making a big point about this is because it’s kind of one of the rules, and it’s probably the only one that isn’t kept by anyone save for Asther.
I know I don’t do it either. But that’s because no one does it, and no one does it because no one else does it. Unless everyone starts doing, no one can do it. I’m sorry for ranting about this for almost 400 words now, but I just felt I needed to get it off my chest.
In the other two threads I’m uploading I’m putting respectively putting my timeline as it is right now and the way I understand the world’s timeline as is. As/If people other people make their own thread trackers (like the one RKB has made) I’ll entangle them into that over arching thread tracker.
A note to Asther and mods: sorry if I’m intruding on your authoraty by doing this, but I felt that, since I have the time to do it, I might as well do it.
