NAME: Ari Sigmundr
AGE: 44
GENDER: Male
STANDING: Berk village Human Healer
SEXUAL ORIENTATION: Straight
LIKES: Tradition, power, Fishing, Learning peoples’ secrets
DISLIKES: Change, Beasts and dragons, Luna, Women or the young in authority (yep, my character’s a proper Bigot)
STRENGTHS: medical knowledge of things as regards to humans, Strong willed, quick thinking,
WEAKNESSES: lack of knowledge to do beast and dragons, Mistrustful, not proficient with weapons, finds it hard to cope with change
FEARS: Him losing his job, Dragons becoming the dominant species, someone having a hold on him in some way.
AMBITIONS: Gain more power in Berk, Learn more secrets, Have some hold over Luna
SECRETS: Knows and tries to gain as many secrets of people as possible, has intentionally failed to save people in the past.
PERSONALITY: Ari is an easily irritable person, but he always does his best to cover it up under an appearance of genial elderly man. He distains all people, even though most don’t realise it. He finds challenges to authority difficult to watch, and challenges to his own unbearable. What he loves more than anything else is the feeling of power over people. To be the leader of the village, while now impossible and even wasn’t felt tempting, he found that getting this power was just as easily attained, maybe even easier, through being the village healer, because those who didn’t see him as a threat saw him as a trustworthy man, and those who did...well he’d usually already got what he’d needed about them that they wouldn’t spread the fact. He is not an evil man, nor is he actively meline. He walks the line very finely, and it probably wouldn’t take very much to move him into the wrong side.
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION: He’s roughly average height and slightly overweight due to the fact that he doesn’t get the proper exercise anymore. He has shoulder length light brown hair, which has the occasionally noticeable grey hairs that are already starting to show. His face is also starting to show light effects of permanent wrinkles and a raggedy beard which was lightly darker than his hair. His eyes are a dark blue.
HISTORY: Ari was the youngest brother of three (Kenna’s father was the middle oldest). While the eldest became a Viking, Ari and Kenna’s dad became apprentices to the healer and blacksmiths of their time respectively. Ari got very proficient in his trade and eventually was the perfect replacement when his master died. Unlike his brothers, he’s been able to keep himself alive and as yet sireless. He gained his gammy leg from an incident with his brother’s dragon, which didn’t help his views of dragons.
He started his more dubious trade when he found out about the infidelity of the previous chief and decided to use this information to help with his standing. It kicked off from that, finding out the odd fact here and there and then keeping it in his mind until the best moment to use it against that person. He’s even a few things over his own family members, although his brothers died before he could use them on them.
And then Luna came. At first, he treated her merely with suspition, she was an outsider who’d just come out of nowhere. Then he found out about her abilities as a healer and his mind imidiatly saw her as an enemy, someone who could surplant him. And when they asked her to heal Asther’s dragon he felt like that moment was coming. He was pleased when they made her dragon healer rather than making her an over arching healer, but his mind thought that the moment when that would happen would happen eventually. So since then he’s been trying to befriend her and find out something to use against her. As of yet he’s found nothing, but he can tell there’s something and whatever it is, it’s big, really big. Big enough to possibly make the village lose favour with her.
He can but hope.
PARENTS, FRIENDS, OTHER FAMILY: He’s Kenna Sigmundr’s uncle. He also has a wife, Siv (39), who knows exactly what her husband's like and encoreges him [Siv is open to be played by anyone, contact me first though. Otherwise she'll just be an minor secondary that just eggs him on].
Apparently friendly all the humans in the village, but he dislikes all save Siv.

RP EXAMPLE OF THE CHARACTER YOU'RE APPLYING FOR:
Ari heard a knock on the door. He sighed and got up. He knew that it was going to be someone with an injury or illness (or both) from the knock. He walked to the front door of his place and paused for a moment, composing all appearance of annoyance from his face.
Now with a face of ready inquisitiveness, he opened the door to see one of the village’s farmers and his wife at the door, the former leaning on the latter. Rather than asking, Ari immediately looked down at the farmer’s legs, since he wouldn’t be using his wife as a crutch if the problem was anywhere else. His right leg was singed, obvious and boring.
He did, however, make sure that that thought did not enter his face. “Come in,” Ari said, holding the door for the two of them and the two hobbled in, “what happened?”
“Wild dragon attacked me.” Well obviously, Ari thought to himself, hiding minor exasperation.
“Breed?” It was kind of a needed fact; different dragons have different fires so need different kinds of attention. Although by the look alone it was probably a terrible terror. And a moment later the farmer confirmed it. Ari had the farmer sit down and relieve the weight off his leg as he went over to his medicine cupboards.
”It could be worse,” he said as he got out some of the mixture he’d made the night before (burns are, unsurprisingly, the most common ailment of the village so he needs to prepare accordingly, ”at least your burns are only superficial. Had they been worse there might be trouble.”
Siv walked in at that moment, ”oh, hello you two,” she said in minor surprise at the other occupants of the room.
”Good afternoon, my love,” Ari said as he moved back to the farmer, ”slightly busy with a patient, would you mind taking {insertfarmer’swife} next door for a bit?”
Siv looked perplexed for a moment, then smiled and nodded. Ari didn’t need to explain himself to her. She took the farmer’s wife’s hand and the two exited the room. Ari grabbed a chair and sat down so that he was level with the farmer’s leg.
”This might sting a bit,” he said as he started to apply the ointment onto the burns, and the farmer stiffened up like Ari knew he would. ”You know,” Ari muttered, ”you really should get better protection for yourself and for your land.”
”I know,” he replied, wincing slightly, ”but it’s hard, you know. My dragon can only defend so much of the land at any one time, and my farm is slightly far out to be easily defended by everyone else.”
”Well,” Ari muttered, ”it would be a shame if you were to get hurt again, it might be more devastating next time.”
The farmer raised an eyebrow, ”what do you mean?”
”Well,” Ari said, ”You never know how much damage an attack can cause, this time it was minor burns that can be easily healed. Next time it could be more serious burns, or maybe a different kind of damage happens. You never know what can happen, or what people can hear.” The farmers widened, half confusion, half dread. ”What your wife could hear.” The man’s face went pale white, he knew Ari knew.
Ari stood up, ”well, that’s all that needs to be done really,” he said, ”just keep weight off your leg, and ah…” Ari smiled, in a much more sinister way, ”try and protect your land a bit better, I’d hate for anything bad to befall you or your life.”
