PERSONALITY
It's no wonder why Heka was given the viking name "The Insatiably Curious". From the time she could crawl, Heka has been curious about anything and everything. From the time she could speak she's been asking questions. How, why, what, when, where, really? When Heka's father brought her into the family "business" as the hatchery keepers, her curiosity averted from humans and focused solely on dragons. She began her quest to become a world renowned dragonologist at this time, and has become well-versed in the lifestyle, physiology, and psychology of dragons thus far. Even though she has learned quite a bit, she is always looking for more information.
COLD / DISTANT
Heka has never been very capable of being close to other human beings. Although she doesn't feel as if she is being cold or distant, others seem to find her as such. While she isn't unfriendly, she's incredibly difficult to get to know, and only shows her true warm, loving side to dragons. Most of the time Heka is perfectly okay with how disconnected with the rest of humanity she is, however sometimes she does wish that she could connect with someone romantically.
VENGEFUL
While it takes a lot to get on Heka's bad side, once you do you've made a tough enemy. While not necessarily violent, Heka has a habit to do all she can to cause problems for you once you have upset her. She's not outright vengeful, however you may notice that your socks have gone missing, or your stairs suddenly collapse from under you with a missing nail, or other annoyances that aren't really harmful.
DEPENDENT
Contradictory to Heka's coldness, she is quite dependent on those that she actually does have a connection with. She becomes a little needy with people whom she feels close to, although she tries her best to hide it from them, which can make her come off as even more distant than usual. [/ul]
OVERALL PHYSICAL DESCRIPTION
HISTORY
She came back to the house, hours later and Titan thought for sure that his daughter was going to be a heartbroken mess. Instead, she walked in the door with a mighty, "I TOLD YOU SO." and presented a small, Terrible Terror with lime green scales and dark purple markings. Baffled, Titan could do nothing but ask his daughter what she was going to name her new friend. "Spyke, cuz he's spiky."
Spyke and Heka's relationship grew over the years, and he seems to see her as his mother of sorts, despite the age differences between humans and dragons.
When Heka finally turned thirteen, she was beyond excited to go out and tame a dragon of her own. She knew that she could easily befriend one of the village's unclaimed dragons, but for some reason she simply didn't want to, having experienced building a relationship with a tame dragon to begin with, she wanted a new experience. So she went out on her own to look for a wild dragon. She really wanted to find a rare dragon, one that wasn't always seen around the village.
A year and a half after she had begun her journey, Heka was still unsatisfied with the dragons that she had met. She had taken her searches further and further out, and was exploring caves on the edge of the Wrath of Thor one day when there was a rock slide. Heka got caught underneath the rocks, near the mouth of a cave and was buried under the rubble. It took Heka hours to pull herself out from under the rocks. She had to use her right arm and legs, and after she got out of the pile she discovered why. Her left shoulder had popped completely out of its socket, and the left side of her collar bone was cracked and broken. Unfortunately, she was trapped inside the cave.
What choice did she have but to go deeper into the cave and hope that perhaps it came out somewhere. So, she did. As she explored, she began getting this sinking feeling that she was being followed. However, whenever she would look around, she found nothing. She spent what seemed like forever trying to find her way in the darkness, with no food and a broken arm.
When another slide began in the distance of the cave, Heka began panicking, and began running through the cave blindly. She didn't see the tunnel that lay on the cave's floor and she tumbled down the gaping hole and fell straight down into water that seemed to freeze her all the way to the bone. She was a goner, for sure. She could barely swim as it was, and with her upper left side almost completely useless there was no way she could find the surface. As she began fading out of consciousness, there was a flash of blinding white in the water, and Heka wondered if maybe the Gods were coming to greet her.
When she woke, she was laying in a field that she had never been in before, the sun shining down on her. Trying to rise, Heka discovered that the pain in her left side had increased. Without any sling, it had been left to hang and pull out of its socket even more. Feeling helpless, Heka curled into a ball, trying to hold her left arm in place as best she could. She felt as if she would never see her village again. As she lay there feeling sorry for herself, she saw a glitter of white, and she couldn't help but think of the white blur in the water. There was no way she had moved on to the afterlife, with her body still in so much pain. Clearly Heka was still alive, but how?
She narrowed her eyes, trying to see the glittering more clearly. When she realized what she was looking at, she physically jerked back - and then flinched. Hidden in the grass was a silver and white dragon. Its scales were so luminescent that they reflected the light of the sun in such a way that it was difficult to tell just how close it really was at first, until Heka spotted the large, violet eyes that were staring at Heka so hard that they seemed to stare into her very soul.
"I see you..." Heka said to the glittering dragon, who seemed to understand that it had been spotted. It slunk out of the tall grass which it was hiding and sat approximately five feet away from Heka, who had sat up, still holding her left shoulder with her right hand. The two stared at one another for what seemed like hours until finally Heka broke, and couldn't stare into those deep violet eyes any longer. She sighed and began muttering to herself about how she had to get home.
Despite the pain that she was in, Heka began traveling in the direction which she thought Berk was, being followed at a safe distance by the glittering dragon. This went on for days, with the two of them playing at each other. The dragon would leave Heka fish and Heka would pretend that she didn't notice the dragon following close behind her. However, Heka's condition continued to get worse, and she began to lose consciousness here and there. The dragon seemed to notice the girl's worsening condition and began creeping closer and closer to her.
Finally, on the fourth night of Heka's wandering, she could barely walk and she lay against a tree, figuring she was done. She was tired, in pain, lost, and was beginning to lose hope. The large white dragon approached the barely-conscious teenager and gently touched her nose to the girl's left shoulder, understanding that she was wounded.
"I need to get home... To Berk, where the dragons and humans live together, I need to go..." Heka began to babble to the dragon, who just stared at her as she spoke. Heka gave up and began to pull away from the dragon, whose response was to nudge the girl gently, which was frustrating to Heka. Finally, it dawned on her that the dragon wanted her to get on.
If she hadn't been so far gone, the girl would have been nervous, but she collapsed onto the dragon's back without much thought, trying to keep her arm intact as the dragon took off. The ride on the dragon became a blur to Heka, and she barely even remembers the dragon landing in the middle of Berk where they were surrounded by the village people - including her father - to care for the girl. She had been gone almost two weeks, and the village thought she was dead.
She was in a waking coma state for three days. When she woke, she began talking about a glittering dragon that saved her. Told to hush, she believed it was nothing more than a dream. Two weeks later she could finally get up function. She was told it would take months for her arm and collarbone to heal properly, and was put in a sling. Content that she could finally get up and move around, Heka went out to the edge of Toothless' Forest, and sat there to daydream about the imaginary dragon she had "met", when a strange glittering caught her eye. Turning to wonder what she was seeing, a white and sliver dragon slunk out from the trees where it was hiding.
"You- you're not a dream!" Heka exclaimed, getting up to greet the dragon. She stopped short of touching the dragon, realizing that she was likely invading her personal space. The dragon closed that space by reaching her nose out and touching Heka's sling gently, like she had just before she'd brought her back to Berk. "I'm okay. Thanks to you. You brought me home."
Over the time of Heka's healing, the dragon - which Heka came to call Glitter - would continue to come to see Heka, and the two began to develop a bond. It was very clear that the two were made for one another, and Glitter began to get accustomed to life with humans. [/ul]

The air was crisp and chilly, as was usual for Berk. There were patches of snow here and there, but nothing too much to be a bother. Heka was greeted with bright violet eyes that were gleaming in irritation. "What, did I take too long? Sorry, I had to get dressed," Heka said with a smile, as she pat the large white dragon's head who nuzzled her hand lovingly. The two exchanged nuzzles for a moment before they began walking through the village. A few people were awake, some with dragons some without. Some of the dragons were roaming alone, which was typical of Berk ever since the war between humanity and dragons had been settled. Heka nodded at some of the villagers as she passed them, not actually speaking to them.
The pair approached the edge of the village and stood there for a moment, taking in the sight of their homeland. "Are you ready, Glitter? I want to see if we can make record timing today on route two," Heka said to the White Fear who had become her savior, her companion, and her best friend. Glitter replied accordingly, her way of saying "yes". Heka climbed atop the dragon's back, with no reigns, harness, or saddle, and the two took off into the sunrise, heading towards the rocks that rose up from the Meridian of Misery. [/ul]
