Across the Sea.

Curtis would wake up and look around his room. Slity was awake and was sitting there with his eyes open. He seemed like he couldn't sleep or anything. Curtis got out of bed and would walk over to Slity looking at him. "You fully awake Slity?" Slity let out a slight groan as if he was saying yes to Curtis. Curtis would go over and would grab his stuff and throw it on himself. He grabbed his bag and threw it on. Curtis went out the door and Slity followed. He threw Slity afew fish for him to eat. They were gone in the matter of seconds, Curtis laughed before hopping onto Slity's Back and having him take off towards the town.

After sometime passed they were at the Town and Slity had landed at Luna's house. Curtis knocked on the door and waited abit, When Luna awnsered the door He smiled. "Ready to go?"

Luna had made sure to wake up early this morning, today she was leaving with Curtis for red rock for a week or so. Yesterday she had woken up late, so she wanted to me up early she she could make sure she was ready. She got up while the sky was still kind of dark. She had gotten dressed and eaten something and fed snip and snatcher. She had tidied her house a little and packed the last few of her things. She had been walking around a lot because since they were flying she wouldn't be able to walk for a few hours. She stretched her legs and raised her hands above her head. She got snip and snatcher ready to go as well. She made sure they stayed in the house rather than wandering off to play in the village. Luna thought alot about what it might be like in Red Rock, she had heard a lot about it from Curtis so it would be cool to see for herself. She wondered what they would encounter there. The only places she had ever been were berk, hysteria and that island that she and Curtis had visited once for a few days. And red rock was far away on the mainland, she had never been to the mainland. Yes, this was going to be Quite an adventure. She heard a rap at the door and knowing it was Curtis grabbed he bag and waited for snip and snatcher to follow her before walking to the door and opening it. There was Curtis with slity. Luna smiled. "I'm ready" and walked out and closed the door behind her after her dragons came out.

The day was nice, The sun had popped above the horizon not long ago so it ment that it was early in the morning. There would be gusts of wind blowing by of to their new region to blow on through again. It wasn't busy this morning, It was somewhat quiet aside from the Boats bringing in the Catch, Blacksmith going off and most other morning routines.

Curtis smiled once Luna said she was ready. He guessed that she had been up early to pack, Eat, and what ever else she needed to do before they left for the next Week or two. He didn't show it but Curtis was a Tad nervous to go back. He didn't know why, He grew up there for fifteen years of his life. Well basically his entire life up until he left. Mabye it's just becuase he hadn't been there for afew months.

Curtis would walk over to Slity and would scratch his ear, He found some fresh fish lieing around and ate it. He was probably full now and would be good until he needed to eat again so that was good for the flying so he's not hungry when there out over the water. Slity didn't mind how much Curtis and Luna packed, He would still fly the same if there was nothing of him for all he cared they could put and anvil on his back. Well mabye he would get a tad annoyed and that would be heavy but still. "Alright Then, Come on." Curtis hopped onto Slity's back and waited for Luna to get on. Snip and Snatcher could get on Slity's back or could fly beside him so that wasn't a problem.

Once Luna was on Slity's back Curtis would look back "Ready?" When Luna responded with a Yes he would push Slity to get off the ground and direct him southwards. Slity flew down towards the water and would pick up the pace abit so they wouldn't take hours to get even a quater of the way there. This speed was confortable, It was super fast and it wasn't slow, Luna probably would be botherd by this too much, Mabye a little but if they are ever going to get there they gotta keep going at this speed the entire time.

After a couple hours they would fly over the one island they had taken a boat to the time before. Curtis looked over and smiled at the island before looking back at Luna "Well, There's that island again." Curtis looked back at it and saw some dragons flying around the water's edge looking for food, Probably just morning hunting. The only Dragon that Luna probably would of recgonized was a Nadder, Otherwise all the other dragons were diffrent then the ones back in Berk.

A couple more hours past and they came towards a small island. Around the edges of it would be a couple small villages, They looked like the buildings were made out Wood and Straw for roofs. Curtis looked around the area abit more. "Looks Like were at the Orthal Keys. It's a group of about twelve islands." Curtis pointed out a couple of the islands around them. He pointed to one that had a forest that wasn't dense at all, It was good enough for cover. "We will land over there, Slity seems to be getting abit tired and needs to rest for an hour or so. Just so he can get his energy back to full" Curtis directed Slity towards the island with the small beach.

They came in and Slity stretched his wings out flapping them abit more for a smooth landing. Curtis would hop off and then would help Luna down after he was on the ground. Curtis got Luna and Slity to follow him into the forest. They found a nice open spot. The sun was over head in the clearing in the canopy of tree leaves. The weather here was nice, Warmer then Berk that's for sure. There was slight breezes every now and then passing through. It's as if the wind followed then from Berk to the isles. "So what do you think of the ride so far?"

Luna climbed on slity before Curtis who slid on infront of her. They took off and slity glided down to the water. She wasn't to thrilled about the gliding down part, but as they got out over the water she was fine. She had only flown a few times so she held onto Curtis tighly as they picked up speed. Usually they had gone pretty slow, but eventually she got used to the speed. She looked around her at the crashing blue waves and the clear blue sky and the horizon where they both met. It was a really nice day. They flew for awhile before they landed on a small island for a short rest. They landed and Luna glanced around to make sure snip and snatcher had been following. She saw them land and Luna let Curtis help her off. She stretched her legs and bent over to touch het toes, it felt good. She followed curtis into the thin tree copse with THe dragons behind him. They reached a small spring and Curtis and Luna and the dragons bent down to drink from it. Luna kneeled down and cupped her hands before putting them into the water to let them fill up with water before bringing het hands to her face to drink the water she did this a few times. She looked up next to her. Curtis was putting his mouth up to the surface of the water and sucking it up to drink. She smirked rougeishly before quietly and quietly setting her hand on the back of his head and dunking his head quickly under the water before letting go with her hand. She laughed and grinned as his head came up.

Curtis brought his head up and looked at her. "Hey.. What that behind you?" When Luna looked behind herself, Curtis grabbed a handful of water in his hands and smirked to himself. Slity was watching him and let off a slight what sounded like laughing noise. "Hey Luna" When Luna turned back towards Curtis he threw the water at her face. "Payback sucks dosn't it" Curtis laughed after he said this. It was funny to him and probably to Luna to. He wiped the water off his water and threw it to the ground. He shook his afew times getting the water out of his hair. He look up and moved some of the hair out of his face.

Curtis walked over and grabbed some sticks and put them down in the middle of the clearing they were in. "Snatcher come here." Snatcher perked his head up from the water and ran over to Curtis. "Mind lighting this for me?" Snatcher replied with a simple breath of fire on the sticks setting them a blaze. Curtis patted Snatcher's head and smiled. "Thanks bud." Curtis walked over and grab and a somewhat large stick. He took his sword and started to hit his sword against the tip of the stick to shrapen it. "Going to see If I cant get any fish. Come along if ya want or keep an eye on Slity and the fire." Curtis walked off towards the beach.

He put his swords into the sandy beach head and placed his jacket ontop of his large sword. He rolled up his pant legs abit and took his boots off. "Well, Here gose nothing." He walked into the water with the sharpend stick and looked around. Nothing right now. He stood still with the stick in his hand. He saw a nice large fish go by his feet. He waited a moment to stop moving. When it did, Curtis threw the stick at the side of the fish. He hit it and the fish die instantly, That was nice. Curtis took it out of the water and look at it. He walked over to his small sword and took it cutting the fish's belly open and start to gut it. He burried the insides of the fish on the ground in sand. He stab the stick into the ground and went over and washed his hands off. He walked back rolled his pant legs down, Put his boots back on, Threw his Jacket on along with his sword and walked back with the fish on the stick. This probably took about fiffteen minutes all togather. Shorter then he expected.

Curtis walked into the clearing. "Got Lunch." Curtis laugh abit and he put the stick into the ground and walked over and grabbed more dead branchs throwing it onto the fire. He grabbed the stick again and layed it over the fire to cook with the fish on the end of it. " Now to let that cook." Curtis looked back at Slity who was asleep now. "Heh. He's a heavy sleeper when he's tired. Like a freaking rock." Curtis laughed abit looking back at the Fish cooking.

Luna stayed standing up when Curtis walked away. She knew the still had a ways to fly and she would have to be sitting that whole time. She walked around the area a little while the 3 dragon rested their wings and their eyes. Soon they were a all snoring away, small puffs of smoke often arising from snip and snatcher's nostrils and condentiation forming around slity's. The three slept peacfuly. Only a few minutes later Curtis returned with a fish. He set it on the flames of the fire then stepped back as he waited for it to cook. Luna looked at him and smiled. He made a comment about slity's sleeping. Luna laughed, snip and snatcher were both pretty light sleepers. The two talked for awhile, mostly about their dragons. After awhile they assumed the fish was done. They found a flat stone and Luna brushed the dirt off of it. Curtis used the tips of his fingers to quickly pull the fish from the fire and put it on the stone. It didn't take a long time for the fish to cool, since they had stopped on th island the wind had picked up tremendously and was coming in gusts now. They crouched down together shared the fish. Luna took a small peice with her fingers and brought it to her mouth. It was good. After the luna and Curtis had finished their small meal. They woke up their dragons. Luna shook snip and snatcher a few times and their eyes opened and they woke up. Slity took a little longer to awke, but when he Ws awake Curtis put their bags on his back and help luna on before clambering on himself. The wind whipped through their hair. Slity walked out of te tree coverage and onto the baech. Her poised hiself and took a few steps backward, preparing to get a running start. Luna wrapped her arms arouhim curtis and held on to him tightly, anticipating take off. slity took a few running steps gosling Luna and Curtis around a little before speeding his wings, jumping and angling his wings to catch the air. Soon they were flying pretty smooth considering the wind. After a few minutes Luna reached around Curtis and took his hand and set her head on his shoulder. She knew they were both going to have a good time on this trip, just the two of them. Luna smiled.

Slity was flying very conforbly through the bright, Blue day sky. The wind was still was calm as it was in the morning, Curtis looked around, Nothing but open blue sea's. He looked back at Luna. " How you doing back there?" Curtis looked back forward. It was only about two in the afternoon. They wern't far from Red Rock now. Curtis looked forward and to the sides. Nothing yet, He knew they were close to it, He took this same path when he left so they were on the right track.

Minute after Minute flew by, The edgeing of a large peice of land just came into view, Curtis looked back at Luna. "Welcome to the Mainland." Curtis smiled as he looked around. There was surrounding islands near Red Rock. Fairly large acually. Curtis made Slity go just abit faster. Not fast enough to make Luna feel unsafe or anything. It was long until they came closer to the mainland that the Outline of the large city of Red Rock was visable. " Told ya it was a big place." Curtis looked around the area.

Slity flew towards the west side of the town. They were still over the water though but they were going towards Curtis' home. It sat on a peice of land, Surrounded by water but it was connected by a strip on land to the Town. Slity landed in the back and looked around. Curtis got off and then help Luna off. Curtis looked at the big stone house they had landed behind. "Well. Welcome to my home." Curtis looked around the area

Luna looked at the large town as they flew next to the shore. So this is red rock. It was so much larger than berk. There where tons of people walking te cobbled streets. The main land was so different from the isles. The wind had died down a lot since when they had been On the island they had stopped to rest on. It was a bit warmer here than it was on berk. Het eyes couldn't take everything in it was so big. She couldn't believe this was where Curtis had been raised, she didn't know why, it just came as a shOck for some reason. She watched Curtis' face as he looked over his hometown, the expression read as a strange mix of sorrow and exitement. she took his hand and gave it a little squeeze. He pointed out his home to her, it seemed like thy were going to land there. Luna furrowed her brows, why would they go to his house? Didn't his father want to kill him? Luna became slightly uneasy. She liked at Curtis, they seemed to be headed right for the house. They circled te area where the house was before landing. Curtis slid off and started to help her off like he always would, but Luna stayed where she was. Curtis gave a confused look, he took his hands off her and Luna took his hand and pulled him next to her. She looked into his questioning eyes with her own and asked him " are you sure this is a good idea?"

Curtis took a closer look before walking towards the back door of his home. "Yea, My dad is gone during March and April." He lightly tapped of the door and peered through the window. No one was home. He lightly twisted the latch on the door and he heard a click noise. He pushed the door open. He walked into what would look like the kitchen area. The floor would be made of smooth stone, He would walk towards the front door and would slowly make his way up the wooden stairs. He looked around the small lobby between his room door and his parents room door. He walked over to both of them and opened them gently. He looked into his parents room and saw no one there. He walked over to his room and looked around.

Curtis walked back down stairs and out the door. "Alright come on in." Curtis gestured for Luna to come in the door. Slity walked over to a small stable like building behind the house and layed down in the straw that was there. Curtis shut the door once Luna was in. "Well. No one is home. Usally when my mom gose out she's home pretty quickly." Curtis walked towards the stairs to go upstairs to his room. "Come on." Curtis led Luna upstairs and opened his door and let her in before shutting it again.

Curtis looked around the room. He had papers lieing around with drawing on it of Buildings, Dragons, Weapons and so on. Curtis walked around picking some of the paper off the ground and laying them on his desk neatly. "Well, This is my room." Curtis laughed abit before walking over to the window and opening letting light into the room. He walked back over to the desk and picked up a book opening it. He rememberd this, It was a book he was writing. Nothing much it was just about this certain character going into the desert and venturing so on and so on.

Curtis smiled at Luna. " So whatcha think so far?" Curtis had just finished the sentance before he heard the downstairs front door open and shut. Curtis looked over at Luna for a moment. "Not a sound." He whispered gently before quietly opening the door and allowing Luna to follow him. He looked down the stairs, It was with Mom. He was right about her going out and in quick. He watched her going into the other part of the house. "Come on, Let's try not to my mom." Curtis walked down the stair and stood at the opening to the kitchen watching his mom for a moment. "Hi.. Mom."

Curtis' mom had Long brown hair that ran to the center of her back. She wore a spilt black skirt, a tanned colored shirt, Leather boots. She looked abit like Curtis did aswell. Not alot though just abit.


Curtis' mother looked around suprised at someone being in the house beside herself. She didn't know it was Curtis until she looked around at him. "Curtis?!" She seemed pretty happy to see him again, Due to the fact he rushed out last time he was here. She slightly ran over to Curtis and hugged him. She stepped back afew steps and looked at him. "How are you?" She had a happy sounding voice right now. She looked over with her eyebrow raised " Who are you."

Curtis smiled "Hi mom." Curtis hugged his mom back when she came up to him. "I've been good." Curtis looked back at Luna as his mom asked who she was.

Luna walked into th large house slowly behind Curtis, he began to go up stairs she followed him. He opened the door to his room and she peered inside. It was pretty cool, he looked through some piles of papers before they heard the door creEk open. Curtis smiled and told her not to speak. She Watched him walk quickly out the door past her. She could tell he was exited. She stepped out of the room and saw him trot nimbly down the stairs. He greeted his mother who whirled around and looked at him. Curtis smiled when she embraced him. Luna walked down the stairs and waited quietly at the base. After saying a few sentences to Curtis, she saw her and raised her eyebrow questioningly. Luna felt uncomfortable and awkward as mother and son were reunited. She was dressed very differently from the women on berk, so Luna felt slity out of place for this reason as well. Luna fiddled with her fingers and turned the bracelet Curtis had given her around her wrist a few times. She looked at her feet. The two stopped after awhile and the mother asked Curtis again who she was. They both looked at her waiting for an answer Luna glanced nervously up at them as they looked at her. " well, um I...I'm, uh well... My name is Luna." she stuttered quietly, Luna was always nervous when she met new people. " and um, me and Curtis- er Curtis and I are um" Luna paused for a moment thinking "friends?" she said. She wasnt sure what to call Curtis, but she knew they were more than just friends. She waited for a cue from Curtis as his mother continued to look Luna over, sizing her up.

Curtis laughed abit as Luna responded. He looked around the kitchen, It hadn't changed much since last time. A large what looked like a stone oven to cook in. Smooth stone counter to cut vegteables and fruits, Along with meat and what ever else. A small holder that held the knives, spoons, So on and so forth. The smell of the room was nice, It had a slight tinge of the smell of grass. He didn't know why it smelt like that it just did. Curtis would move over to beside Luna smiling at her.

Curtis' mom smiled as Luna said they were friends. But, She didn't look like anything she had seen before. She had seen alot of diffrently clothed people before but nothing like what Luna was wearing. Curtis' mom pointed a finger and moved it up and down before talking "What are you excatly?" She was pretty curious about this.

Curtis looked at his mom and then to Luna. Again, He knew that no one here in Red rock has Ever, Seen a Viking. EVER. He was curious to see what his moms reaction would be when she was told Luna was a viking. He guessed probably surpised becuase they dont come down this way.

Luna must have looked like a savage to Curtis' mom, standing there next to her runaway son dressed in such stange contrast to her. The women in red rock dressed much differently than the women on berk, they wore longer skirts and dresses with tops that reached up to their collar bone and long hair tied back neatly. Luna in contrast had a short skirt with leggings, a top that set farther down on her chest and loose wind tossed hair that reaches to her shoulders and had feathers in it. She tried to smooth her hair out a little. Curtis came and stood next to her. That made her a little more conifident. She motioned to Luna and asked what she was. Luna thought fir a moment before answering." well, I live on berk which is a viking viliiage on an isle up north, and I'm the dragon healer there." she said slowly, still not exactly sure what she was asking. She wondered how she would react when she discovered Luna and Curtis loved each other. She might not like it, I mean her son comes back from running away after a few months and he brings a strange girl with him. She might not like her.she really hoped not. She wanted to take Curtis' hand now and hold it next to hers and press it on her chest, she was just really nervous and that would have helped. But she was afraid his mother might not like that, so she held back. She glanced over at Curtis, still not sure what to do ad his mother continued to look at her. She shifted her weight to her other foot and waited for her to react and say something. She took a step closer to curtis and quickly smiled nervously at him.

Curtis' mom would blink afew time. She didn't belive that there was a Viking infront of her. The first Viking to Ever come to Red Rock. "Viking!?" She spoke with interstead and excited tone to her voice when she said this. "You know your the first Viking to come to Red Rock ever in history?!" She walked over and shook Luna's hand afew times. They talked for awhile before Curtis' Mom had to go into town for some stuff.

Curtis looked at Luna after his mom had left the home. He smiled at her before speaking. " My mom is nice, Isn't she?" Curtis laughed abit, He turned around to the back door and openend it walking outside. He waited for Luna to come out before he shut the door. After they were out Curtis made his way to the stable where Slity, Snip, And snatcher had gone to sleep. It was starting to get late. Curtis walked over to Slity and sat down leaning up against him. "Should.. Probably get some rest.." Curtis was tired, He didn't show it until now. He dozed off against Slity's side.

Luna was surprised when curtis' mother came towards her and shook her hand. She laughed a little when she said she was the first. Well, at least she liked her. " well...curtis brought me here." Luna said to her. She asked her a few questions about berk and she answered them all. After a few minutes she said she had things to do, so she left she and Curtis. He led her out to the stable. The 3 dragons were resting there. Curtis stroked slity a few times before he sat down and leaned up against his dragon. He wad tired, she could tell. She sat down next to him and stroked snip and snatcher as she watched him doze off. She moved over right next to him and set her head on him, she tried to close her eyes and sleep foe awhile, but she couldn't sleep. She took herself off him and Leaned back on slity. It was getting dark, the sun had began to slip under the horizon.
She wondered if Curtis was asleep for the night or if he was just resting. She watched him sleep. She messed with his hair a little, moving it so it wasnt in his face and twirling strands around her finger. She pulled her hand away after awhile. She laid down and curled her legs in setting her feet on the ground so her knees were up in the air. she set her head on his lap gently so she didn't wake him up. She closed her eyes, not trying to sleep just resting her eyes. Snatcher curled up next to her and snip nosed under her arm and the two dragons purred. And Luna smiled.

The passed over, Curtis felt Slity purred abit and that is what woke him up. It was morning, There was a crisp breeze going through. The sun was barley above the horizon, It was fairly early in the morning and the region was only barley lit. Curtis looked around and looked over at Luna. She was asleep, He decided to give Luna afew more mintues. Curtis got up and wiped the straw off himself, He walked over to the side of the land and looked at the ocean calmly hitting up against the sandy shore.

After he had some time to think to himself about random things going around in his head, He walked back to Luna and lightly shook her. When she woke up Curtis smiled at her. "Morning you." Curtis waited until Luna was fully awake. "Alright, Were going to head into the fields." Curtis smiled as he said this. When Luna was ready He helped her onto Slity who was now awake. Curtis got on after and hand Slity take off towards the south. It wasn't long until they were over an open field that was on the outskirts of Red Rock. It was large and as far as the eye could see. Slity flew down and landed. Curtis got off and looked around. "I used to come out here every day and train with Slity." Curtis laughed abit, "Lets go looked around."
